I see it as more safety in numbers , I mean you had a potential gun on them while trying to get out that one guy with his family . Can you imagine if it was just two people ? They’ll play it off as “ protecting my neighbors from potential abductors “ in the news when they shoot to kill them . He even said it himself “ I was trained for situations like these “ when asked about the laser .

I have nothing against polygamy. This however is abuse. Polygamy should be a choice that two or more parties make together. They don’t get a choice here.

That's where the difference between Polygamy and and Polyamory comes, I feel. Like yes, technically Polygamy is just being married to more than one person, but realistically it's usually either mysognistic or generally used as a controlling tool. Polyamory is just the desire to be in a relationship with more than one person and it doesn't have the abuse connotations.

Granted this wasn't a fire you could see with your eyes, but it was a fire nonetheless. I made it to a shelter where I found the help I needed. If you need help, there are places you can go.

Good for you. It’s so hard. I stayed with my abusive ex wya too long because of his children. I’d helped raise them form babies and was afraid for their lives if I walked away and couldn’t take them legally. Bless you for doing what you had to do. It’s so hard to escape situations with abusers.

The pack during the escape to not raise suspicions from the neighbors and people in the house,One time a girl packed before and got caught and was married off and sent away before she could escape. So I think that’s why they pack during the escape now.

There is a great book called "The Witness wore Red" by Rebecca Musser. Its about a woman who escaped, then turned around and greatly aided in the investigation of the Zion Ranch in Texas. IT really gives insight into how the whole community is brainwashed to believe the Prophet. These women are so incredibly brave for doing what they do.

Natayla Taylor if they suspected the young girls were going to leave they would move them and try to marry them. They could get seriously hurt if they raised suspicions, and one of the easiest way to raise suspicions is to pack your stuff

Not everybody leaves at the same time and it's up to the escapee whether they want to be filmed or not, so it can take a while before another season comes out.

I would NEVER doubt anyone's story or deny the terrible traumatic things that have and still do go on in those compounds, (I've watched several documentaries on Warren Jeffs and the FLDS) but I'm a little skeptical about some of these scenes. How would they be able to have an entire camera crew out there while helping people get out of such extremely dangerous "hostage" like situations? Idk.. just curious..

I have been watching this show since I lived in Texas back in 2014. Now I live in St. George Utah and see them all the time and want to talk to them but don't want to scare them or say the wrong thing. I'd do anything to help them even if they (male or female) needed a place to stay a night or 2.

Just started watching this heard stories and that leader who was jailed for life plus 20 years due to a 12 year old and other commitments. Shocking how much more I have heard. I remember the minor they broke out. They had to get her a cab to the bus station and a bus ticket to las vegas and one of the girls husband got a bus ticket with her but had to act like he didn't know her. She managed to make it to las vegas and they placed her with a kinda like a foster family for run away per las vegas laws. They couldn't be seen directly helping her like giving her rides and stuff as they would be aiding in a felony but as long as she road by herself they were in the clear.

There was this one time I was at gymnastics and there was this new girl in our class and she said “hey u look really familiar, u look like my cousin” I said “haha really? That’s crazy” she said “yea her name is melany” I said “that’s crazy my name is Melayna!” She said “that’s so funny!” Then like 5 min later she came up to me and said “Aré u married?” I said “haha no I’m only 15” she said “your 15 and not married yet? Aren’t u in a group?” I said “group?” She said “like a polygamous group” I said “uh. No.” She said “oh.” I said “are u?” She said “yea.. I’m getting married off soon.. and the guy is looking for another wife that’s why I asked” I said “how old are u again? Sorry I didn’t catch it” she said “I’m 14” I said “oh cool, but uh are u ok?” She said “uh.. I can’t say anymore my mom is watching.” I said “um ok, well I’m here if u need anything ok?” She said “thanks” and I didn’t see her at another class after that. I’m seriously worried about her. But I don’t know what I can do now..

With the smaller groups such as the AUB and especially the FLDS in Colorado City, they are the police and therefore wouldn't help them out in letting someone in their own group escape. Also, that's why they have security, so if it escalates to a situation like it did with Melanie they can call the police.

I hope jesse and his family are ok. He actually was in love with BOTH of his wives and knew he couldn't and didn't want to be with a 3rd woman. And he didn't want his kids to grow up in that horrible terrifying cult. He shows not all palgamy is bad. Being in a CULT is bad. He's with 2 woman. For me that's no big deal. The ones who just marry woman after woman, don't take care of them, don't even see them!? And marry children!? They are the ones that the law needs to come down on!

When you cant be seen by who ever you are escaping from, it’s best to take just the people and leave the stuff behind.

I will never understand why they are worried about packing all of their glasses when people are actually pointing guns at them. Just get the documents, photos, and go.

I lived in Yacolt WA for 2 1/2 years, the apostolic group there literally married their cousins and lived in huge groups to keep their bloodline. I went to a school and as a non apostolic I was a minority and they were to violent towards my friends and my family because we did not fit into their group, when I tried talking to my principal about he it told me it was out of his hands and we should discuss things with the church. A PUBLIC school did this. Amboy middle school in Yacolt WA told me and my family to go to the local apostolic church if we had any problems with the bullying and such

Mycenaea a lot of the time the families can convince the police that the family member trying to leave is just crazy and that they are just trying to help them. It’s really sad actually.

Mycenaea it’s actually more complicated than you think all these are based in Utah where if a police officer were to be involved they’d lie a id then relocate their families. In an episode in the series police were involved and shut down multiple organizations from the polygamist group and those polygamist families were moved and not to be heard of.

Mycenaea apparently a lot of the police are FLDS themselves so they cannot depend on the cops.

A lot of people who try to escape Mormon polygamy end up getting dragged back to their families by police who are also Mormon.

I really admire how and what Jesse and did even though he was married to two women is show Lucy is a good honest man and once the best to live a happy life and not to be controlled or to control other people and he saw that before it got any worse. Those two sisters were lucky to be married to him that he didn't abuse them or anything at all

These people are so brave to escape, but remember- in any dangerous sistutation to just grab your important papers and your prepack single bag, everything else can be replaced with the help of others on the outside, God Bless

No, it hasn't been cancelled yet. We don't know when another series will premiere because there isn't a constant strain of people wanting out, and they don't film every escape. It's up to the escapee whether or not they want to be filmed.
