Eli, thank you for making this video, this is a fantastic 5-minute explainer for people who are new to the circumcision debate to understand why it's so important. It's easy to send people this video because most people won't mind spending 5 minutes watching it, and you said at the beginning that you have 10+ years of experience researching it, so you have some authority to talk about it. Thank you!

1. The AAP and the CDC have badly muddied the waters re the medical necessity of RIC. This will remain a problem unless and until the AAP goes back to the position it took in its 1971 and 1975 statements re RIC: "routine circumcision is not an essential part of infant health care." 2. Infants can tolerate lidocaine, the powerful local anesthetic used during root canals and tooth extractions. Even though lidocaine has been marketed since 1950, it was never used during RIC before the 1990s. Even now, many doctors decline to use lidocaine during RIC even though the AAP has deemed lidocaine to be an essential part of best practice. 3. Most Americans ignore or deny that the foreskin and its motion, and the frenulum (which is often damaged or destroyed by circumcision) contribute to the satisfaction of both partners. American medicine and sexology pass over in silence the possibility that the foreskin and frenulum are the most sensitive parts of the penis. The foreskin slows the aging of the sexually sensitive parts of the penis, esp. the glans. The best evidence that circumcision detracts from sexual experiences is the women who report that circumcised male partners thrust too fast, too hard and too deep. The 1979 Hite Report found that over 40,000 subjects, only 25% of women reported climaxing most of the time or always. I submit that this is evidence that circumcision has done lasting damage to American sexual satisfaction. 4. I agree that a man should have a say in how the most sexual part of his body, the tip of his penis, looks and functions. I fear that this argument does not have much traction in Polite America, because it is seen as antisemitic. 5. Religious and rite of passage circumcisions should be delayed until after the subject turns 21, and preferably after he has undergone his sexual debut. I am confident that Liberal Jews will cross this bridge within 100 years. The argument that circumcision is not truly Islamic because the Qoran is silent about it, will also come to have fair weight among educated Muslims.

His body his choice. Society says that male genital mutilation is OK. No consent. Who wants less sexual sensitivity?

It's news to me that infant male circumcision is a Muslim religious practice. I know that Ishmael ( the son of Abram and Hagar the Egyptian, because Sarai, the wife of Abram had not been able to conceive) was circumcised after Abram entered into a covenant with God, 13 years after Ishmael was born. But the covenant was maintained with Isaac, the son to arrive that God said "Sarah" would bear for her husband "Abraham".
