as a 56 year old dude who has 40 hours training time (20 hours when I was 14, ready to solo ran out of funds, and 20 hours in my mid 30, but went on deployment and never got back into it), i live my coulda been life thru your videos lol. man i love your channel

Did the same thing Philip, starting flying young and stopped twice. Went back and got my private pilot's certificate at 57. It's never too late and so worth it! DO IT!!!!

Went on my introductory flight at 17 and then went to work to earn enough money for lessons. While away from home working I got news that my instructor died in a crash while training for his multi engine endorsement and I never stepped foot in another aircraft.

Kinda same scenario here.....worked at the local airport in high school and got my PPL..... went to Embry Riddle Aeronautical Institute (University now) back in 1967...returned home to get my college degree and never returned but entered the workforce.. married and had a family ....fifty years later I'm flying MSFS 2020 trying to rekindle the things I learned through the PC and watching every aviation channel I can.... at 74 it's about all I can do..... Thank you Jimmy's World for letting me live vicariously through your videos.

That kid snoozed on the G's! LOL I heard a story from an Air Force buddies that they would invite someone they met from another branch of the government down for a nice plane trip (or so they thought) They would first treat them to lunch at the base restaurant and encourage them to eat and drink anything they wanted - all on the house.. Then, with no respite they would strap them into the F18 Hornet and NOT hold back on the aerobatics and high G manouvers during the 'nice' afternoon flight.. The vomit to non vomit ratio was about 50/50 depending who it was - actually the girls did better than the boys in general. That's a baptism of fire for ya!

Your Top Gun video today took me on a stroll down memory lane. I see your video took place at KARR. These are my old stomping grounds. I began my flight instructing career at Lumanair back in 1979. While I went on to Part 135 and corporate aviation elsewhere, I ended up back at Aurora Municipal Airport in 2003 when I bought into a Cessna 182S partnership that lasted until 2018 when I retired. This year I was awarded the Master Pilot Award for 50 years in aviation. Thanks for the memories. Ken Glassman ATP CFII MEI MPA

Well I thoroughly enjoyed hearing you laugh scream and giggle way above a man’s octave Silas almost lost his head he should’ve had the strap on to keep his headset on because at least he put his head down to try and keep it in the same place this was an awesome video you guys are having the best father and son adventures ever Silas absolutely cherish every minute with your dad love the videos health and happiness to you all

What a great example you are to your son it looks like he’s living his best life with you Sir as each child should. God bless you and your family may all you desire to do in life you accomplish. Brought back some memories. My first ride was in a Navy T-34 piloted by our base chaplain on Guam about 1970. He was not just great pilot but he could pray too! I sat in the back seat, we did a couple hammerhead stalls, I almost barfed but managed to keep the back seat clean until we landed.

Your son is lucky to have you as a Dad!! you will teach him to fly no doubt! My dad was an Immigrant for the Ukraine and only work all the time to feed us! I have always wanted to fly, but now at 70 can't afford the classes. Really enjoy your channel, Keep us all entertained.

Damn Jimmy, that looked more fun than the law should allow! I can still vividly remember my incentive flight in an F-16 over Alaska, I actually flew the F-16 for 3.5 minutes and after the flight I received my 9G pin. It was one exciting and fast ride in the sky! You looked like you had as much fun as I felt, as the man said, are you spoiled now? Do you love the adrenaline rush of going very fast and pulling high G's? Please keep these kinds of videos coming, I get to remember a lot of memories from my military career! Thanks!

Great video, Jimmy and Silas! The F4N Phantom you shown was VMFA 531, and they were the squadron next door to my squadron (VMFA323) at MCAS El Toro. Brings back a lot of memories!

Though I have never taken any flying lessons, I have flown the right seat many times in 172’s and 182’s. I have a real love of all things that fly! Hi Jimmy, My son has a twin Comanche with a magneto on the top plugs and electronic ignition on the bottom plugs of Lycoming IO 320 engines. The reasoning is that whatever fuel does not get burned during the magneto firing should mostly get burned during the higher voltage electronic ignition firing. Adds more than 10% power boost on less fuel. That equates to about 3% increase in TAS - if you are getting 195kts now, you could get about 201kts with this configuration. Also, make sure timing, bottom plugs and wiring are compatible with the electronic ignition unit

Jimmy looked like a kid on Christmas. That was awesome just watching, I can't imagine the Gs you were feeling. I have experienced those round parachutes though, the only thing you have to be prepared for is the shock up your spine when your feet impact the ground and then roll to one side, well anyway that was my experience using them.

Ya need the stick to fly the old warbirds online Jimmy!! IL2 Battle of Stalingrad is probably the best most realistic flight simulation to the old warbirds iv ever played. Jus set all the hundreds of paramaters to Zero help from the computer and you literaly have to start and run all the switches and controls and base your warm up sequences and battery checks and Mag checks and Oil Booster pre Cylinder oil pumps and fuel booster pumps and breakers and manifold pressure and every little thing you can think of you can do in German and Russian and Italian Piston planes. With the Track IR you can look around the cockpit and look back out the cockpit and tilt your head back when doing a loop,,its pretty darn cool Jimmy iv been playing it on Steam for 5 years now🙏🤙
