The 1992 Presidential Election. The Iowa caucuses are tomorrow but since Iowa Senator Tom Harkin is in the race, the other Democrats have essentially abandoned the state. The real battle is in New Hampshire in anticipation of its upcoming primary. Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton’s lead in the race appears to be dropping. Meanwhile, former Massachusetts Senator Paul Tsongas' support is rising. Clinton’s support is slipping as a result of questions about how he avoided service in the Vietnam War. Nebraska Senator Bob Kerry a Vietnam veteran is questioning Bill Clinton’s story on Clinton’s dodging service in the Vietnam War. Clinton is asked if he burned his draft card and he says “no.”
Former California Governor Jerry Brown has an unorthodox campaign and is trailing badly in the polls in his third presidential run. He has a flat tax proposal and "radical" environmental proposals. He will not accept contributions over $100 and relies on an army of young volunteers. Brown cannot buy media time with so little money and he has only seven paid campaign staff members. As a result he has difficulty getting traction.
