A fair comparison there mate. On the topdon, when it scans if you press system list you should get a similar looking layout to the autel instead of the topology layout. I dont don't find one brand better than the other but there are cars where one will work better than the other. For me, I prefer my topdon for the same reason you prefer the autel - I'm just used to using the topdon. If you're planning to buy a launch tool, then keep the autel and sell the topdon as the topdon uses launch software with their own overlay plus some other slightly different features but coverage/compatibility is the same as the launch products. One big plus I find with topdon is the 2 year free updates compared to autels 1 year. Keep the vids coming 👍👍
Another great video .if I have to choose I will go for Autel. it is simple easy to use even for beginners .as you said it is a bit of mixture for the similar price.
I've had the launch diagun IV now for about 4 years now and has managed everything I've needed it for so far, although I've not had to use for anything dpf related which I know you do alot of. It's a shame no single diagnostic tool does all. Great videos by the way 👍🏻
I have an Xtool A30M. Entry level scanner with bidirectional control. I'm in love with the thing. Free updates for life too. It's the most powerful scanner in it's price range. I'll get xtool d9 pro when i have the money. They also have tools thats similarly priced as these tools but trust me you get way more for your money.
It's a shame you can't get these things on loan so you can try them out for a week or so before buying. All i know is when my mechanic friend bought a scan tool he got a Launch, as he said it did the most for the money, after he research all the main ones. He mostly works on Merc, BMW/Mini, VAG, some vans, most generally.
Odd. My Phoenix Plus has the option for a cord like your Autel here. My Phoenix is only a few weeks old so not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Do your research next time you can switch the screen to look just like autels it's a topology map all you have to do is press system list in the top left corner and it changes to the autel way of listing
Just got the phoneix plus havnt use at the shop yet but played around on my 99 accord. Wouldnt autovin and all the codes were displays as xx-xx as in 61-71 vs p0xx maybe just because its am old car? Anyone have similar experiences?
TOPDON is a copy of Launch tool and use Launch Software. I'd prefer to use Launch as it's likely to have the better software sooner. You don't lose functionality after update subscription ends
Top Don is a launch based machine. And some think car. Launch software runs on both the Top Don scan tools and Think car scan tools. Launch was created by some of the engineers splitting of from Autel.. I own Autel scan tools a few Launch and one top don. I wouldn't be surprised if Launch created sister companies, Top Don/ Think Car to fight Autel.
No Launch sold software to topdon and thinkcar. Bad move in my opinion as topdon is quickly becoming more popular than launch as there usually quite a bit cheaper. An original Launch tool for me is the way. Topdon & thinkcar has no support for UK and Europe as far as I'm aware
@@ORileysAutos as regards the Mondeo I’ve got the Autel MS908s not had a problem going through the DPF/SCR program but Autel is too expensive for updates
Have you tried the autel ultra? It does everything including programming and also has a topology view like topdon (there is also a list view available)
@@ORileysAutos I'm expecting my delivery tomorrow for the ultra lite! Only diff with the lite and ultra is the vcmi compared to vci box. It's recently been added to Amazon after I enquired about it!
I used to buy Autel until my machine exploded in my hands ( I kid you not) it was less than one week out of warranty and Autel UK were like tough ! Byeeee ! Bought Launch after that and Autocom ...............I have Launch and Topdon (same s/w really) now I like the 2 yr updates as you only get 1 yr with autel.
LAUNCH X431 IS BASICALLY A TOP-DAN SO IF YOU DECIDE TO SALE ONE OF THEM I WOULD SALE THE TOP-DAN . THE WORST THING IS TO END UP WITH TWO OF THE SEEM TOOLS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My autel £1200 906bt gave up the ghost when I didn't renew the updates £1200 down the drain said corrupted software I only used about 10 times never buy autel
