For those installing a steering wheel on these Corollas; use a round barrel Bic pen to release the internal springs in the steering column. The butt end of the pen works far better than a flathead screwdriver. Make sure you have the steering perfectly straight and don't mess up the clock spring. They are a PITA to put back right and the dealer will charge you almost the price of the steering wheel to wind it back up to factory spec.
Omg this is the coolest video so far on mods! I love it because I’m working on mine currently, I just got a DC Sports exhaust and I have the saMe springs you have. I also wanted the 2inch but I’ll start with the 1inch for now. Thank you for this video!
Hey man nice set up love the car. I went and got the same front lips 2 piece splitter custom to order to fit 2022 hatch, but I could not get them to line up with the pre drilled holes, I got it from your provide link. You mind put up a video of how you did your? Thank you a lots.
I hope you like it bro and it doesn’t line up with the predrilled holes, there is one in each corner the was already drilled in the body that we used but other than that we had to drill the holes
Again Cody really good content ! well executed after seeing your last video i decide to buy the steering carbon wheel for the installation did you unplug the battery ? can you explain to me your experience with it ! Sheers from Montreal 🍺🍺🍺
Thanks a lot for the support Steven I really appreciate it, and yes we did unplug the battery because you don’t want the airbag to blow up on you. So basically there are three metal tabs on the steering column and it takes some time but when you poke them with a screw driver you will see a corner of the airbag pop out. And once you get all three tabs pushed it will be fully disconnected, then there are two plugs on the back of the air bag to be removed. Then a single Allan bolt holding in the steering wheel and once you remove all that you can just move over all the buttons from the only steering wheel to the new one. Glad I was able to help you find a new steering wheel!!
Automatic transmission.......*clicks off video*....JK......kinda really sharp build though. I'm digging the Corolla and thinking about selling my WRX for a down payment on GR model when it drops.
Haha, that’s a cool idea. It would be a smooth transition going from a wrx to a gr since it’s a turbo all whee drive. Except now your engine won’t blow up
@@noicecars3052 well it depends on your location, becuase our Toyota was accepting deposits and we got in first, but chances are if your Toyota has been accepting deposits for a while you may not get one because with they amount they are making every dealer will only get about 3 cores and one circuit. So you would have to be first.
MAN I HOPE YOU TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS COMMENT....... My uncle bought a 2020 Toyota Corolla SE when they first came out he wanted to get the Apex model in a 6-speed manual but unfortunately couldn't find one and ended up having to settle for a Auto se sedan BUT ....... Let me say this dude the intake is definitely definitely worth it yes you're not going to game crazy horsepower but you will definitely be able to hear it that is one of the first mods we did on his car... And the K&N short ram intake that you can get is probably one of the best ones on the market if you do not want to go with the full cold air that goes down in the bumper we didn't because it rains too much here in Seattle but.............. The K&N is the only short ram intake that has a really good quality heat shield that blocks It off from heat AND STILL USES THE STOCK AIR DUCT TO PULL IN ARE FROM THE FRONT GRILLE!!!!! It made his car sound so so so so so so so much more aggressive and we also wrapped the intake tube in the gold reflective heat tape to also keep intake air temperatures down And he ended up putting it on the dyno he actually did gain I believe it was 6 to 8 horsepower just from that mod Then next we did the cat back exhaust and you can still hear the intake clear as day it still has a deep throaty sound and now he has a header as well you can still hear the intake Honestly it was the best first mod and even if you already have exhaust and headers it's still worth it to do it it makes the car sound way more aggressive when it's coming towards you You really noticed it when you put it in sport mode and manual mode and run it through the 10 gears that you can ship through But yeah man nice car sorry for the long comment I was just trying to tell you it definitely is worth it to do the intake if you haven't already and K&N is probably the best short ram on I'm not sure if I understood you right but it sounds like you did a partial exhaust or did you do a full Cat-Back when you got all those pieces and welded it together??? If it's only partial like a axle back I highly suggest adding the rest of the piping man and doing a header and a full 2.5 in exhaust all the way through because that made that car breathes so much better it really complimented the intake and by doing those three modifications my uncle was able to put down 185 to 189 at the wheels
Thank you for the detailed comment, I did read it all!😂 I actually sold the car a little over a year ago but I have a 22, xse 6 speed hatch. And I got a cold air for it. I don’t notice any power gains and I put the intake on after I did the exhaust so it’s hard to say if it makes a difference in terms of sound. But I went with the injen intake and I love how it looks. I would not have paid the 300-400 price for what I got but I bought it used for 120 so I’m happy with it for sure.
@@Limitlessautodesigns I was browsing but I didn’t saw any close to the one you have, do you have any specific brand or link? I’ll really appreciate it.
2 questions: 1. Did you get the steering wheel professionally installed or did you do it yourself? 2. For the rims/wheels, did you have to recalibrate the speedometer?
The steering wheel we did ourselves and no on the wheels. They make calculators that tell you the new speed after the new size wheels but it’s such an insignificant amount it doesn’t matter
Props to you for the video qualify, well edited for a amatuer channel, I for one cant wait to see how you do when your making it big, but enough about that, the car looks nice, I dig a the look and if I was in my 20's still I would build mine pretty much like yours honestly, I am getting a new 22 hatch night shade that will be in any day now, same color as yours, I am thinking about more of a look that compliments the stock style it will already have, just need to lock in on some rims that recess more and like the look of.
Thanks a lot man I truly appreactie it, and that’s super cool you will love the car. Getting a more oem body kit and paint matching it will give you that oem plus look
@@Limitlessautodesigns yeah beatiful steering wheel, where did you get it from? asking as i'm really considering a corolla, but here where i live there are no real car shops, is it from toyota or ? :)
I have a 2014 focus ST and a 2016 toyota corolla LE for work, I believe they have the same motor and CVT transmission, theyre great on gas but very slow compared to my ST its a night and day difference. CVT transmission feels very weird. Definitely go with a GR, I am
If you talking about drifting, you can’t really push out the rear wheels unless it’s really wet or your on sand or you have McDonald’s trays under your rear wheels😂
I wanted to get xxr rims do you think there good or worth it also if i just change to a magna flow muffler on my 2016 scion im do you think its worth it or pointless ?
Well I don’t really know too much about xxr wheels but since I think they are a kind of off brand wheel they shouldnt be too expensive. No more than a grand for the set. And if I was you I would try make something yourself like I did or go to a muffler shop because it will be a lot cheaper plus you can create your own sound.
@@kevinlueng1247 I don’t have a specific brand or link but I just went on Amazon and searched corolla hatchback door handle covers and multiple offers came up. I know my video came out a while ago but I just searched again so they are still for sale on Amazon.
@@brandonmarks6035 I just bought a 2013 Mazda 3 hatchback on Thursday so I put less miles on the ST and it gets really good gas mileage, I wanted a corolla but they were out of my budget, wasn't looking to finance and didn't want one pre 2010s
@@Limitlessautodesigns awesome! i'll take a search there, because i cant find anything about it and i even work at toyota lol, there is no GR/styling parts lists that i have found yet, maybe i just haven looked in the right place yet :D
I have the same car haha, 23,000 after the build and 28,000 loan. Not including the 1,900 I put toward it to have it shipped in and toward my bank. I added mudguards and a few other interior things during the website order. Wind chill pearl, manual.. 2022 XE. Black interior. I’m adding a cat back exhaust soon, so I can go to phase 1. Then a wrap. It’s pretty uppitity rn, I’ve heard adding a catback will help mileage also
I have a 27k insurance payout coming after a 50 foot tree crushed my 2020 Impreza lol.. Really hoping I can find a 2022 with a manual in my area 🙏 Seems like it would be a great daily and even more fun with a few mods
@@John-mf6ky You'll need to order the car online and have it shipped into a specific dealership. If you go right in and buy what they have on the lot they will overcharge.
Remember you are front wheel drive, so adding downforce wouldn’t make much sense especially since downforce is mainly meant for RWD cars to make sure the rear end sticks to the ground
you coulda waited for the GR desperation does this now you will regret when the GR comes out this year and you have put so much money on the economy model
Well when I got my car a year ago I had never even heard of the gr Corolla and this really isn’t an economy model, I love it. Saving the fast car for a project and this is my daily
Exactly my thought. He went so far to mod his car with all that ricer looks and mods and all that cost...and yet it's a CVT. A stock manual is more fun to drive than all of the mods he did to his CVT. Really can't get why people doing so over the board on modding their cars and yet they picked auto when there's a manual option. It's not like the auto in this car is faster either. I appreciate people who drive stock manual over a ricer auto. Kinda like getting all the high end keyboard, mouse, screen, fans, etc, for your new computer but you don't bother to get the better processor. Most of the time people do that is they don't know how to drive manual or are really bad at it, but still want a "fast" looking car. Many of those mods don't make a difference in the car's performance (especially this is not even a hot hatch), mainly just for looks.
@@carbrickscity dude, it’s a daily driver. Let him put his money where he wants, it’s odd that your fixated on what someone else wants to do with theirs, worry about doing what you want with yours
lol I never said I was worried or whatever, stop assuming. It's just a comment lol It's funny since you don't direct to the original top comment as well, and there are some likes he got too. If anything, your comment applies to you as well. i.e. it’s odd that your fixated on what someone else's comments, worry about doing what you want with yours lol Just becos it's a daily driver doesn't mean it has to be auto. And if it's just a daily car, why mod it so crazily...if he didn't go so far to modding his car, pretty sure no one would care or comment on him getting a cvt. But it's not, that's why it's weird and people gonna comment on it. Get over with it. It's not you to judge whether people should comment or not. It's called freedom. And you are judging on my comment too. Same goes for you.
