Just a minor detail, Shogun lost in Pride against Coleman due injury, I think he dislocated his shoulder defending a takedown; do not if he lost any other fight in Pride but before lossing against Forrest he lost against Mark Coleman.
Kumite tournament was the toughest. Frank Dux had to prove that Senzo Tanaka was his shidoshi in front of the two Black Dragon members by performing the dim mak by hitting the bottom brick. Then got temporary blinded fighting Chong Li in the final match and won.
When we are talking toughest combat tournament, i think the K1 tournaments back in the day are amongst the hardest ever. I’m not even from that generation but those heavyweight grand prix were insane. You had badr hari, sakhi, schildt, mark hunt and THE UBEREEM.
Shogun lost via injury to Mark Coleman in Pride with an elbow dislocation/fracture. The fight ended and Wanderlei jumped in and it was like a WWE wrestling match.
I remember a tournament in Russia in the '90-s where 32 men fought a tournament. The winner would fight 5 times that night. I would say that was the toughest tournament I have ever seen.
Yes his podcast is called “Your Welcome”. This clip is from the podcast episode he posted today, called “I’m a Better Fighter.” This clip starts about 10-13 minutes into that podcast episode. I listen to it on the Apple Podcast App. All these clips are on his podcast, he just takes certain parts from the podcast and puts it on RU-vid.
BG2013 this is just a clip From the Actual podcast. The podcast isn’t 3 minutes long. Lol it’s a 45 minute podcast. This clip starts about 10 minutes into it.
Wow Trevor Prangley!! Now that's a name I completely forgot about. No one ever talks about him and only die hard fans know about. He was a pale, blonde South African fighter who was well rounded with Solid wrestling. He had a couple of fights in the ufc back in 04-05 but was a real pioneer of mma.i wonder what happened to him?
A year before Shogun came to the UFC and lost to Forrest he got beat my Mark Coleman at Pride 31 via TKO broken arm. I remember that fight but had to look up which event. Hope all is good Chael P. 👊🏽✌🏽
Ufc 2, Royce had to beat four guys in one night Btw, wasnt there a tournament in Russia with about 36 fighters? I remember Ricardo Morais won it, had Vovchanchyn in it as well
yes that called World championship. btw Morais fight in finals with this Russian guy Chael talking about. Михаил Илюхин his name. mma pioneer Fedor and Kharitonov coach\sparring partner.
