This is a walking tour of the inside of Tokyo's Ueno Station, located in the northern area of Central Tokyo. There are many train lines that intersect at this station, including access to the Shinkansen bullet train. It also connects people with one of the largest parks in Tokyo, Ueno Park, which has the Ueno Zoo, Tokyo National Museum, and many other great things to see and experience.
For detailed info, check out their website: www.uenostation.com/
If you have any further questions or comments, please leave them down below in the comments section! And let me know what you thought of this video. I'm still getting used to the new camera so some settings were a little off and the stabilizer was a bit wonky in the mode that I was using it in. Future videos will be much better!
Thanks again for all your support and love!

I hope you all enjoyed this tour inside of Ueno Park. I do apologize for the wonky settings when I filmed this. I was tired after my almost-3-hour live stream right before filming this, so I wasn't paying attention to the auto-white balance and exposure, as well as the wrong gimbal mode (which is why some of the footage is crooked). I just turned it on and started filming without checking. Such a rookie move, but meh... Anyways! hahaha What was the most interesting thing you noticed in the video? Any comments or questions? Let me know below!

Yeah! I guess it's more like 8 or 9 platforms, with 2 tracks on each side, for a total of 17. That's not including the Shinkansen platform or the underground part of the station that connects with the Hibiya and Ginza lines. I totally didn't show that part at all since it is kind of separate from the main station. Thanks for watching!!!

8:05 These platforms that have the car stoppers are not used as much these days mainly because of the opening of the Ueno-Tokyo line in 2015. Before then, the Tokaido lines physical end point was at Tokyo and the trains that run on the Joban, Utsunomiya, and Takasaki lines end point was at Ueno. That is why in the past there was many more trains coming into these platforms, it was at one point a major terminal. However, the Ueno-Tokyo line made it so that these lines are connected to each other by building new connecting tracks that extend from Tokyo station. These new changes has made departures and arrivals at these dead end style platforms become less useful, since the Ueno-Tokyo line has made transferring between the lines less troublesome and is faster. As years come by, there is going to be even less trains that come. Some people say there is a chance JR will close down these platforms for good someday.

Yeah! Seoul and Tokyo have always battled each other for best subway/train system in the world. Seoul always eeks out just a little ahead of Tokyo because of how easy it is to understand the different subway lines. They're numbered, so you don't need to know about individual train line names like in Tokyo (Chuo-Sobu Line, Joban Line, Hibiya Line, etc). Oh wow, that's great you can see what it looks like now after all the renovations. I can't imagine what that would have looked like. The Ueno Park exit on the 2nd floor area that was under construction during this tour actually opened up just before the "2020 (2021)" Olympics started. So that whole upper side is all new and nice now. I'm in Ueno every Sunday and I definitely like it a lot too! I wouldn't mind living within walking distance of Ueno Station at all. Ah yes, it was released a day in advance to #MoistFam members, so they were able to comment on it before anyone else. They get early-access perks and other behind-the-scenes stuff that isn't shared publicly. Press the JOIN button on my channel to see what the different perks are for becoming a member and helping support the channel. ^^ Thanks for watching!

The express and local trains having he same ticket depends on the region and train company. In the greater Tokyo area it is true for the JR lines. It was not like that for Hokkaido or the Kansai/Chubu regions when i traveled there some years ago. In Hokkaido there was even a spesific JR line where you could not use Pasmo, Suica etc, you had to pay cash for a special ticket.

How do they do ticket control if all is done with such an electronic pass? Does the controller puts the pass on a reader in the train?
@kattkatt744
@kattkatt744 3 года назад
@@steemlenn8797 The electronic gates are doing some kind of calculation. If you stared at place X less than half an hour ago you have to had the express type ting. Some of the express trains have their own gates to just their platform like with the Shinkansen shown in the video. The Hokkaido on was a bit tricky as you could get on the train with your electronic card, but it would not let you out of the gates at the end sation if you did not have the separate ticket.

Did you talk into a separate mic or just talked into the osmo pocket 2's mics? I have the osmo pocket 1 (haven't used it in ages), but sometimes my footage were a bit crooked too haha

I have the Creator Kit for Osmo Pocket 2, which comes with the wireless mic and windsock. So that's what I use. hehe

How do I get to the ticket office, without a ticket for the barrier??
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 2 года назад
There are the ticket kiosks just outside of the turnstile/barrier part. You can purchase tickets that way. Some of the more special tickets or other types of reservations using coupons and special deals, etc. can be made with an actual agent at the ticket office. Not all major stations are the same, so don't quote me on if that's the case for all stations in Japan. It's just my observation. hehehe

Did u have to use a gimball?

I didn't have to, but a gimbal is definitely useful for walking videos. I used the wrong setting on this video, but it's still stabilized, just not level. hehehe

I just wonder why you are saying “Ueno station” without specifying “Keisei Ueno” or “JR Ueno”? As how would anyone know which of the two stations you mean.
@CoryMay81
@CoryMay81 4 месяца назад
Ueno Station where I filmed this video. The Keisei Ueno Station, where the airport line comes and goes, is a totally different station not connected to Ueno Station lines. When anyone says "Ueno Station", everyone thinks of the JR Ueno one. Nobody gets them confused and no one ever refers to Ueno Station as JR Ueno Station. Ueno Station is also connected to the Ginza Line, which is underground and is not a part of the JR system. That is part of the Tokyo Metro system. But nobody says Tokyo Metro Ueno Station. Both systems meet at Ueno Station, not Keisei Ueno Station. I hope that clears things up. hehehe Thanks for watching!

@@CoryMay81 Thank you so much for the very clear explanation! Can you tell me please also, how to get to the taxis from the Keisei Ueno Station if arrived from Narita. Where inside the Keisei Ueno Station is the exit to get to the taxis and what is this exit called? How does the path from the inside of the Keisei Ueno Station to the taxis look?
