I was one of those idiots that got had by the sneaky wave. I read the notices, understood them. Then the waves receded, offering a superb view of the pillars of rock.. i walked out.. took the shot and realised my mistake. Thankfully I held the camera over my head as the rip took my feet down into the sand. I was soaked and a lesson for every smirking person on the beach :)
Thanks and yes, I'm insanely lucky with my job and the travel. It's the Formatt Hitech Firecrest Ultra series of 100mm filters. I was switching between a 10-stop and 6-stop, with a 0.6 grad and the CPL circular polariser.
5:12 Well, IF you're only going to be there once you have to get the obvious shots, but if you're there a few times it's worth exploring and trying something different/less safe. Best way to get better photos at the 'obvious' places is to be there at the break of dawn when everyone else is asleep, but I realize you can't always do that (pick the time of day). ;-)
Agree that the obvious shots are worth taking for yourself, and I'm not sure I'll ever manage to get back, even if I'd like to. However, I was on a tour and all the timings were organised, which means I didn't get to be at places for sunrise... also, I don't think there was a single sunrise, or even sunset while I was out there sadly!
Practical Photography I know what you mean. I’ve been on several tours like that myself where you can’t control the time of day that you see everything. In those cases I always try to get the obvious/tourist shots I need for myself and try to explore more if possible. Seems like there are usually some other opportunities in the same area that other people don’t shoot. Either that or more closely cropped images of the same place to come up with different views that are not already well publicized. That’s what I always hope for :-)
@@ThePhotographyHobbyist Same here. You should totally get those shots for your own records, but it's always worth taking a little walk to see what else is on offer... I guarantee a lot of people don't! ;)
That was a seal. he was coming and going, coming when I was talking and going when I was trying to capture him! I spent about 15 minutes waiting for him to pop up again.
@@DaveRyan Not often you see them around my way, but it was great to watch. He was bobbing along quite happily, but as you say, soon as the camera comes out he's under the ice again! One day...
In all honesty, what's not to love. The D750 is a camera that appeals to enthusiasts and professionals alike, and it's one of the best 24MP cameras out there. Sadly, it's looking a bit rough around the edges these days, so it's about time there was an upgrade. Basically, the D780 is everything you love about the D750 but with a couple of extra tweaks to improve the experience. Whether it's worth the £2199 against the D850's current price of £4299 or the Z6's £2099 is up to you. However, you can't go wrong with the D780 if you have a collection of Nikon glass and are looking for a mid-resolution full-frame workhorse.
I would have liked to heard about the camera, too, though I did watch his d780 early review, and quite enjoyed it. 18:48 and there's a d780 sighting; finally, in the last 30 seconds a bit of chat about the camera. But, what were they thinking sending them to Iceland in the Winter, and to not so inspiring locations? My .02.
Edit: Those stacks were amazing though! And I live by the Oregon Coast, and we have stacks, so I know some stacks...and those were wicked ones in the video!
great video bro:) I'm going to buy d780, cause i am photographer on wheelchair , I think this touching LV will be very handy for Me in Portraits & Nude Art:)
