Thank you for your input ,I can understand a cautionary approach to opening up india tourism ,but a 30 day visa plus premium cost flights will not attract tourists ,vaccinated tourists especially ones who stay long term in india who help the tourist economy wouldn't be enticed to return for such a short duration

Hi Suja - Indian Govt have reinstated 10yrs tourist visas, in that case in Regular Visas process I can choose 120 months correct? Do I also need to use VFSGLOBAL services or can I directly mail my completed visa application along with all documents to Indian Embasy (Mission)?

Thanks for great video! Let's say I am traveling to India mid Dec and I apply for paper tourist visa on Nov 10th and get it by Nov 20th. Can I still travel from Dec 15th to Dec 30th? Would it make sense to apply for e-tourist visa in my scenario? The only risk being even with email e-tourist visa approval, I might be denied entry in Delhi.. Possibly a minute risk of that. Thx!

You need to at least apply for renunciation , so with the receipting your application you can apply for visa

US Citizens, providing SSN for National Id is not required, we can enter NA, and got approved. Generally we are not comfortable in providing SSN to anywhere than US Govt forms, same I don't remember US asking India's Aadhar number for any reason.

Hi Suja, Thank you so much for a very informative video. I have a question. Recently we applied for my sons US Passport Renewal. During the passport renewal process we had to submit his old passport (which has his Indian VISA valid for another 4 years) we have not received it back yet and there is no ETA. Can you advice on the following, if you or anyone can help: I have a connecting flight from Chicago to Ahmedabad via Delhi and the layover for the domestic connecting flight is of 2:30 hours. Hello! Quick question: How do you know that "Port of Arrival" does not not need to be the exact airport of arrival (and can just be the "expected" one)? In gov website they have mentioned e visa is non extendable.. but for some minor applicants (Indian origin ) they have extended the e visa .. or alternatively you can apply for entry visa or exit permit

If your Indian origin I would highly recommend entry visa .. e visa is only valid for 30days and non extendable.. so better to go with entry visa

Hi Suja, thanks for the very clear guidelines. I want to travel in South East Asia, start off in India for 30 days on the Free evisa, then continue to Thailand. After at least 1 month, perhaps 2 months, out of India can I again apply for another 30 day evisa to enter India? I assume I will have to pay for it then. But is that possible? Thank you!

Thanks for sharing this information. My younger son’s us passport is still in process and we’re waiting on it. But we have planned trip in early January. On visa site they said you can apply for 30 days visa atleast 4 days before trip. Does that mean they can issue visa in 4 days? Because we might get my son’s passport right before 1-1.5 week of travel. Please suggest.

Yes , you can but for safer side you can apply e visa .. which you will receive in 48 hrs and no need to send your passport also .. this is to save time from sending and receiving your passport

E visa is electronic, you will receive it within 48 hrs to your email I’d , but you have get it stamped at the port of entry..

No as of now both e-visa and regular paper visa has same validated.. people go for regular visa to be on safer side and to avoid tension at port of entry.. Your e - visa is only guaranteed when stamped on the passport

Hi Suja, What is Entry visa then ? Can we apply for that I want to stay in India for more than 30 days ? Or I should be going with Regular Paper visa as mentioned in second half of the video? Note: I don't have any emergency documentation with me. Also i see that tourist visa is a multiple entry visa with 6 months/5 yrs/10 yrs. These categories are soooo confusing.

Yes tourist visa are multiple entry visa but at the current moment they are only issued for 30 days and as a single entry .. you can go for emergency entry visa with proper travel reason documents (only Indian origin people are eligible)

You won’t get any pdf stamp, take a print out of your granted e visa . Your passport will be stamped at the port of entry in India

Hey Suja! We already have a 10 year tourist visa which is valid for four more years to India. Due to the pandemic, things changed and they were not allowing tourist visas. Can we travel to India with that same visa for 30 days? Appreciate your response. Thank you 🙏

Thanks for the info. Can I apply for Entry Visa for my son who is a US citizen? Currently, can he stay for up to 6 months with an Entry visa? We are planning a trip in Early Feb and are not sure if we have enough time to get an OCI card. So to avoid that uncertainty, we wanted to apply for either a tourist visa or an Entry visa whichever allows up to 6 months stay in India. Please guide me if you have more info on that. Oci will take 4-6 weeks.. so you have enough time .. entry visa is valid for 6 months you can also go for that , but if you apply now and receive with in 2 weeks buy the time you travel you will only have 4 months remaining in the entry visa.. so plan accordingly

One follow up question... I am planning to visit India on Nov-20, but plan to stay longer (up to 3 months). My OCI is still in process and may not arrive by Nov-20... So can I enter India using a Tourist Visa on Nov-20, but exit India after 3 months using my OCI card (I am hoping the OCI will issued by then and I will have my spouse courier the OCI card to me at my India address). Thank so such again for the help and all info you are sharing!

I am on the same boat too, can we travel on e-tourist visa (which is for 30 days only) and then stay longer than 30 days in india as we will be having OCI by then ?

I have the same scenari.. my kids OCI is still in process.. can he enter India using e-visa and return with OCI after 45 days?? Please help me with the information. I have to travel on Dec 3rd..

👉👉 According to my knowledge, u can't sent Passport or Identity proof By corriere or by post ... Be careful I think its illegal. May be ur Family can carry along with them while travelling. Even if u get that OCI THERE i think u can't USE IT. I AM not sure.

Hi Suja, I followed this video to apply for eVisa and my visa was granted, a heartily THANK YOU for this video!!!!!!! One thing however is different in my case is, Like you said that we should receive a PDF with Visa confirmation , I haven't received any PDF instead just the email stating ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORISATION with confirmed status and confirmation, application numbers ..... would you please advice if carrying just that email would be enough or how should i obtain the PDF document?

The validity period is not 120 days, I just got my visa granted My date of issue is 30 oct and expires on 29 oct, I am going to india on Dec 20th. The Expire date is the last day I can enter India!! What can I do now?

Hi Suja! Thank you for putting this together. I am planning to travel India 18thdec. I am applying eVisa for my daughter (15 year old). In the past she had POI card and she traveled to India with that POI card (It is expired now), My question is what to fill in "Last Indian Visa/Currently valid Indian visa" section? thank you!

Just a quick question for you, I am planning to apply for e-visa due to urgency but what can I do to make my stay longer to 1-2 months? I reside in New York and will be flying to india. Is there anything that I can do while I am in India to extend my stay? Plz share all the means.

You can apply for entry visa it take 1-2 weeks, or once your in India apply for entry visa and covert your stay to entry visa

This year I applied for one of my friend and this is happened, i applied this visa online October 8 2022 and i put the estimated arrival November 6th 2022 because we are planning to visit India 6 or after 6. But when we receive the ETA its showing the validity of ETA starts from NOW (Oct 8) till November. That's absolutely wrong i didn't request this date and my arrival date is now after expiry so wasted money. 🥴☹🙁
