Toyota and Honda are the most reliable brands out there and their spare parts are cheap. I rather have a car that looks okay and not let me down, rather than a good looking car that becomes and endless money pit as they age.
From Singapore here.. I am currently driving a red colour version.. drive and fuel economy is great!! I like how it look as well.. thus, disagree with your review!! 😷
Unfortunately, with the over regulated Singapore, there is literally nowhere that a enthusiastic driver could test the performance of any vehicle. Speed cameras, hefty fines and just congested roads mean a boring Camry, with a phone attached to the windscreen and with google maps displayed due to no phone mirroring, is very well suited to Singapore. I understand also with the price of a COE and high petrol prices, a Camry is probably the cheapest option in Singapore - so why wouldn't you be happy.
I just purchased aV6 SL and I agree with you it is a classy looking car I have no complaints ,it is the best car I have ever owned .This reviewer is hard to please ,I can’t take him seriously .
I dunno what James is on about. I've just bought a red one here in Ireland, a 2.5 hybrid and it's absolutely fantastic. I was thinking of a 5 series, spoke to my uncle you bought a new one in January and it has broken down already. Twice!!! Decided to be sensible and buy the Toyota, and believe me it gets tons of compliments.
The new Camry is the best selling sedan in USA for 16 years. It is a pure pleasure to drive it, and the looks are very nice, as well. The reviewer does not have any idea what he is talking about! I feel like he needs to change jobs and go complain about something else.... How can you say that you will slide sitting on the back seats when you use belt to strap yourself to the seat?! Also, Camry does not have CVT transmission, but eCVT which is a completely different gear set. Please go educate yourself about it before making a video! Can he give me an example of a car where you travel comfortably and quietly and get 5 liters/100km in gas mileage!?
Good lord this man is nuts. Camry is an excellent car and very reliable. Skoda is no where reliable as this guys claims. This camry will outlast its owner.
Nice review of the car. I wouldn't compare the Toyota to a Skoda as far as build quality goes. The Toyota will probably outlive the skoda by a decade. Not to mention residual value. Lovely car
In Asia, particularly, in Kazakhstan, we worship Camry 😉. You’re comparing it with Lexus or BMW! Are you kidding me?! You can compare their prices, then the cars themselves. Don’t mess with Camry again! 😜
Yes, but those are poor countries. In the developed world, the Camry is a cheap, non luxurious car that is used as company cars or taxis. A Mercedes, BMW, Audi or Lexus is what most people are looking for in the developed world if they're getting a luxury car
In America to. This is one of the best sellers this and the Honda Accord even thought such are the new trend these cars still sell like crazy. We don’t compare these to Audi or BMW or Mercedes either that’s what Lexus is for
@@c.d.c9425 And in the developed world, we're not all idiots and go for the sportiest car or whatever. The camry has always been very reliable, and a good ride; therefore we'll keep buying them, and by 'we' I mean people with brains.
Why is this man speaking with a sarcastic tone 60% of the time? The power on the hybrid is much better than the NA, combined torque is somewhere between 300-350 nm. Does not come across a totally professional review tbh
You can only realistically sell small 4-cyl engines, diesels, or hybrid petrol today. Any petrol engine larger than 2.0L in size is not feasible to sell in the UK due to emissions.
If you think Camry came back from the dead you don’t know much about cars in the world. It never died. It is the king in US. And not any other brand except accord and Lexus can measure up to it for comfort and reliability
I have to say I am a little disappointed with the negative comments in this review but accept most are subjective opinion and everyone gets to have an opinion. I feel that not every car is going to be to "German Premium Car" status and the comments were quite harsh. For me, I like the design of the current batch of Toyotas (except Rav4) and Audi in particular are quite boring unless you pay for s line, black edition etc and even then some are pretty uninspiring. If reviewed for what it is, not what you'd like it to be then the review might be a little more balanced. Just my opinion :-)
I think the Toyota Camry looks amazing , maybe after Brexit the car could get cheaper hopefully if we do a good trade deal with Japan , as the import and tax rates are quite high for those vehicles, therefore making some Toyota’s quite costly.
How is it that no UK site seems to talk about the crash test ratings? That's why Camry reigns supreme. Try losing someone you love in a side impact crash. Imagine this being your mother or father. Imagine this being your husband or wife, or your child. Camry has the best rating in these tests. I mean if you're going to do car reviews, you need to think big picture. If what it looks like and what it feels like is all that matters, then R.I.P. to your life.
It's never real until you're holding someone's bloody jewelry in your hands. It's no fucking joke folks and I don't want anyone to go through what I've been through. Don't buy a pavement colored car and get a car with the latest safety features that you can afford.
Looks much better than the insignia, Mondeo or Superb IMHO. It drives beautifully, but the infotainment and lack of android auto is unforgivable, come on Toyota you've got the resources to develop better than that.
Our mercedes slk350 was bought new 10 years ago. And guess what the car had 0 issues. On the other hand our crappy toyotas we owned we had transmission problems.
You're the one who is outdated. Electric cars are useless outside of cities. I live in a flat and have no means of charging one. Yet my diesel I can fill up in 1-2 minutes and one of the many petrol stations. Electric cars are a step backwards not forwards.
The Mazda 6 is better looking, but this is still a very smart looking saloon. I'll probably go for a Corolla touring sports for my next car, but I'd shortlist this.
UK needs US model XSE body styling, interior choice and wheels. ‘Touch 2’ infotainment desperately needs an update for CarPlay and Android Auto. Toyota UK is sleeping on the job for years now.
I had a 2003 Toyota Avensis with the sat nav high in the dash, then they introduced a newer one with it positioned far lower down like this Camry which I consider a downright dangerous position its as though they want you to have an accident.
Because soft touch plastics don't equal quality. The other reviews touch upon what is called ''percieved quality'', but quality itself is measured in time and consistancy which Toyota usually get right.
You shouldn't mention Skoda and VW in the same sentence as Toyota when it comes to quality. I have a Camry 2020 and it's way over for example the Passat in comfort and quality. Skoda is just another VW.
It’s funny how car buyer is still on 500K plus subs while carwow has 2m+ and they been on since 2016 which is very impressive like car buyer they been on since 2009-10 which I think why they still airing on RU-vid in 2019? Also they trying too hard to be like Carwow sense of humour etc which is really sad. I can see this channel going to stop like 2020s because Matt Watson from carwow is definitely taking over by far etc because it’s so much better, naturalistic and ain’t forced like this channel does.
CHR- Very good!? I do like the Corolla tho. Agree on the looks, its like, wuh oh ugh meh... And everything else. Just an average, big, reliable saloon.
Too lazy effort from Toyota. They just brought the US Camry to the EU as is. None with a mind between the ears will want a 2,5L engine in a market where most taxation is based on engine displacement. If it was a
No car beats Toyota Camry don't let them fool you as I had all sorts of car this is my 3rd camery I have the 21plate XL model which is new version than this one... It drives better than BM mercedes very economical to ...
Outdated entertainment systems & too much plastics & I bet there are not door bins in the rear doors, because you don’t get them in the Yaris or the Corolla. The tyre wear will be terrible too I expect. I will be saying good bye to Toyota next year.
It's a typical car for boomers. CVT gearbox: Acceleration from 0 to 60 takes at least a minute, it doesn't matter. The engine will barely rev above idle. Crappy outdated infotainment without Apply Carplay: Apple what now? All that stuff is way too complicated anyway. Fake wood in the interior: Oh yes! Boring to drive with complete focus on comfort: Perfect!
Just not true... O-60 time is 8.3s from Toyota and most of the European testers (videos are on RU-vid) are getting 0-100 kph of 7.9s in testing. Top speed seems limited to 200kph from Germans testing also on the autobahn, they believe it had more but is electronically limited. The combined output is close to 220bhp. You’d have to pay near 10k+ for most other similar cars to get same output (Peugeot 508, Skoda Superb etc..). Apple car play and Alexa we’re both added to the Camry in US and retro updates offered to all 2018 models already. Same is coming in Europe in the Autumn. Plus for some unknown reason Toyota UK don’t import top spec to UK, rest of Europe is getting model with beige leather, hud, rear shades, 3-zone climate, electric rear seats etc...
