Had this in a magazine when magazines exist. My dad at the time had the st185. Loved this, at the time. Magazine quoted. 500+hp. It may not be the same car, but does look awfully familiar...
If am right it then reappeared on a guys RU-vid channel. With only one video. It's a car that keeps cropping up in my life and am grateful for it. Lol.
Hi mate, yes it’s been in a couple of magazines, one was Redline a long time ago and more recently it was in Japanese Performance Magazine when I owned it. I do like the st185 too and even the st165. Yes it did crop up on RU-vid and I purchased after that video with a totally destroyed engine amongst a lot of other broken and abused parts 😂 I did win it on ebay at a good price though, so I thought it deserved to be brought back to its former glory 😁 cheers mate 👍
@@CarJunkeez my lottery win car is the Carlos Sainz in that turquoise green. Magnesium O.Z wheels and fully caged out. 🤤🤤😂 Or even possibly red with the Castrol livery in white, fully tarmac spec'd up! As for yours, I think it was Japanese performance. Though I had maxpower, fastcar, revs. The lot lol. The car it's self is delicious. Especially with the front exit exhaust. Has this car ever been upto pod? A memory is coming back to me of it possibly driving past me in the village of poddington or on the little nlane leading upto the track?
Yes Carlos Sainz are mega money now and I to would love to own one, I was in two minds whether to do one of my other st205 in the Castrol livery but now I’m going with nardo grey. Cheers yes the side exit can make mot time difficult so may have to have a change 😂 Your correct you did see me driving to pod a few years back, I only managed a 12.00 as had some issues on the day (slipping clutch, bad launch control setup etc.) but was a good day and a nice drive there and back 👍
Cheers mate, I love working on engines it’s really therapeutic 👍 I hear Tesco owe you a life supply of food 😂 what a bunch of nuggets man, hope they get it sorted for you mate
holy shit. this car was built by Frankenstein back in the day. I own the orange that was built at the same time. your air box is a copy of my old one from my old uno turbo lol. I haven't seen this car since it left dunstable
Yea it’s still alive mate lol, I got it in a sorry state about 7 years ago and put a new engine in amongst other stuff, yep I’ve even managed to keep the created monster stickers on just ha ha. What’s the orange mate, is that the uno turbo then as I’ve heard about an orange uno turbo that Frankenstein did, would love to see some photos mate, I do love an uno turbo 👍
@@CarJunkeez yeah man its the uno turbo I got it but it was rotten so I re shelled but still haven't finished it 13 years later. its in my garage ill dig it out and get pics. do you have an instagram
Nice one mate, yea that’s the thing with fiats they’re rot boxes I’ve had a fare few over the years. My Insta is @shaney.d and I’ve got @carjunkeez_ for RU-vid and @mastaz_ for work. I’d love an uno turbo, I’ve got a 5 gt turbo but I’ve always had a thing for Fiats as my first car on the road was a 128 then got a 127 then a 127 sport and had loads of Punto’s Hgt etc. I just love pocket rockets, they’re more fun than any big powerful cars full stop. Yea will be good to check your Uno out bro 😎👍
Do you have to remove the engine to replace the oil pump on a 3sge non turbo engine? Do you know.. my garage said that the engine needs to be removed? Thanks
HI was looking for some advice have a celica st185 gt4 and on start up oil light stays on for a few secs and engine sounds like knocking for a few sec then all gud and if turned off and started again all gud but if left for a hour or so then same again.do you have any idea wot it could be thank you.
Is it a knock or a tap ? If it’s a knock then could be serious like worn mains or big end bearings, also check for end flout by levering the front pulley in and out to check for worn thrust washers(twin plate clutch’s can cause this), if it’s a tap then could be valve train noise due to low oil pressure, that could be a bad oil pump. To be honest I would strip the engine down anyway and examine, but first check the oil pressure with a gauge, both when cold and hot. You can strip the bottom end quite easy to check all big end and even main bearings with the engine still in the vehicle. Cheers Shane 👍
Thanks mate 🙏 the side skirts and spats are TRD, the rear lights are Subaru Impreza and the rear has been cut and widened around them and towards the arch’s, the front bumper is a one off DIY job with a wooden splitter I made, the wings are standard with DIY cutouts with stretched aluminium grill and Perspex behind with lights and the bonnet is a Varis carbon fibre one, also the door mirrors are from a st185 I modified to fit. Thanks 👍
Hi, yes you can remove the head and sump and sump carrier then you can easily replace the standard pistons and con rods with forged without removing the engine 👍
It’s a 3sge block from a RWD so doesn’t have oil squirters for under piston cooling and doesn’t have oil feed for turbo, also as it was from RWD it had extra cast threaded section for engine mount that I had to grind off so it has clearance from the transfer box 👍
@CarJunkeez i have a gt four full forge with a g25 660 on 1.6 bar with 86.50 piston and its 450hp on engine and i want more horsepower i want to go 2.0 bar and maybe bigest turbo but the block hes not for press. how much bar you using and any tip for upgrade or anything and i am in greece and its hard to find parts for that car
@@530ms8 hi mate, I have run 2.5 bar but get clutch slip, but my 3sgte block cracked so the block is the weak point, so I replaced with this 3sge. A lot of people use the 5s block but you have to do mods to the crank to take 3s rods etc. unless your using 5s rods, also remove gear off crank for balancing shafts (not used). To be honest I’d just leave it at 450bhp as you’ll get more lag the more power you make with bigger turbos then it’s not as nimble to drive and just turns into a motorway monster only 👍 cheers
