Engine wasn't cold...and most gages of older cars tend to not be right in the middle but a little lower. If the engine was cold and he'd be revving you'd see plumes of white smoke at the exhaust shot. Think before you post bro
This car looks basically like a Supra anyway, might as well make it into one if you can. Great job on the swap! I will dream about doing this one day. :)
sir u are my hero I been wanting to see if this would ever been possible to actually see what the celica should had been since it was made. The perfect rally car with the looks of a true dragon and with it the engine it should have came with. I love it . I always wish I could do this to my st162. perfect bodystyle and history to do with it. but tobmuch fab and cut. But sir just knw that u forfiled my dream of seeing a celica 2j swpd 👍👌
3sgte a more suitable engine..that's why they used it for wrc.. some of Toyota's own racing supras were fitted with the 3sgte, as its lighter, better weight distribution and can make great power..
I have a question as I'm looking to do something similar. Did you use the stock st205 rear subframe or did you have to make up a custom one and which drive train did you use?
@@Kacpa2 not that dumb considering the fact that a supra cost 5x the price of a celica here in malaysia. We've been itching to make it rear wheel drive for some time, let just say the inspection rules are abit different between east and west malaysia,so I am not sure if swapping a jz drivetrain is viable for me.
Hey nice one! :) Can you please tell me how you put the original tachometer working with the new ecu/harness. I am from Mozambique. I did a 3sgte 4th gen swap on my st202. It was 3sge. So the only thing i cant put working is the original tachometer. I don't want to put aftermarket :( Please help!!
Though this looks beautiful under the hood and appreciate the work that went into this. I think a 5SGTE and keeping the AWD would have been a better route to take.
@@yungleeauto4440 Thank you for the speedy reply, guess the regulations east coast is not that strict, guess I'll stick with my beams then.Merry Christmas btw.Have a good day.
Sorry for the previous question. Was too excited abt the conversion to read the comments below lol. Question...can this same swap b done and keep it AWD? If so, is there a specific transmission that goes along with such a swap or do I need to get one custom?
Hold up if the celica is lighter and is awd and you put the engine of a supra on it does that mean that this car is faster than the mk4 itself 0_0 so the engine suits this car more than the actual supra damn
@@marcobrancorsini2479 He's right. The stock Celica AWD system is made for a transverse mount, with the front diff directly leading into a center diff and through to the transfer case into the driveshaft for the rear diff. A GT-R has a Center diff, leading into a driveshaft for the front diff. Much different setup. Most likely for this car, being as the front bay no longer has spare room, a RWD.
@@abrahammoua4748 Yeah, I know, I was just saying that AWD with longitudinal mount also exists, because I thought he was implying that AWD+longitudinal mount doesn't exist. I read his comment a second time now and I realized he said "most likely". Also, I didn't say the car was AWD, so I wonder why he called me a noob... oh well
