I can't seem to get the castle nut off. I have unstake already and even cut a slot in it. I'm only using a 24" breaker bar and even a hammer and a jack but the nut just won't move. Can any one help me?
Dear, last week we went on off road by Toyota 94 kz. From start their was was smell of burning. But after 36 hours of hard taraian when coming back we noticed a leak under the auto transmion. It was late night luckly we found a shop to got two bottles of oil. He told that the pipe is burned by exhaust pipe so fill n reach home. I want to know how it happened. Now what to do???. Thanks Sir with your expert advice.
Just a suggestion and I don't mean to be a dick but just to suggest you clean the outside of the driveshaft spline as you squeeze it down so as not to deteriorate the seal. Great video and you are a true Craftsman. Cheers and have a great day!👍
I’m an amateur mechanic, just basically do all my own servicing , broken springs , and things like that , what would you recommend in the ways of torque wrenches , the clicker, or the electronic...... btw another video enjoyed and liked 👍
norbar are the rolls royce of torque wrenches, depends on your budget, ive found the clicker type are easily misread at higher values so i have an electronic to eliminate that possibility, if only occasional use then look at teng for a decent product at reasonable money
when i changed the transfer case seal on my 2000 all wheel drive land cruiser ,when i turn the rear wheel jamming or lagging when i go straight it goes fine . do you know what could be the problem
😢 I don't know where else to go. NO mechanic could figure out my problem. I know this the only place that has the answer. I have 98 4runner with 140k, which I gave my son to use. Recently, the car shutter around 50 mph, it feels like it's searching for gear (going up and down shifting) but I know it's not a transmission issue. Only a few think that I can detect, the tranfercase has a front drive shaft seal leak, probably half of the fuild is gone. And the other was a recent front brake pad change. Clicking sound is heard on driverside drive axle spinning it, car shakes around 60-70 after brake change. PLEASE can someone give me some pointer on where to look. Thx u.
It's been a long day, but why wouldn't you just put the transmission in gear and select low range then torque to 118 Nm? That torque level is nothing compared to engine output.
@@davesterl no criticism, just believe ppl usually put some on before putting back in the shaft to seal the splines. Unless you mentioned it and I missed it.. Thanks for video 👍🏻
@@davesterl rewatched since I'm doing this today. I see now there is an inner seal to prevent gear fluid from leaking out between splines after. Would you recommend a small amount of rtv anyway? Also I am going to attempt to pull the seal without a seal puller (have one on order). Any tips on home made tool? I think I can fashion my own dental pick style..
