I test drove a Toyota recently. The sakes rep was so obnoxious playing games. I sat at his desk for 10 minutes while he talked to his “manger” he was shocked when I walked over to his manager area and said I was leaving. No matter how good you think your product is I ain’t playing games.

The reason they are having record profits is with the high MSRP's, they are making 20 - 40k per vehicle now instead of the 10k they were making when the msrp's were lower. Greed will always give high returns.

I always tell my family, you can get a Toyota or a Lexus. However, their arrogance in price.increases, horrible distributor and dealer markups coupled with not being able to make reliable new cars/motors is a major problem. I would not buy one now. Not that it will destroy the brand, but their prior stellar engineering has gone by the wayside, perhaps temporarily. Not that Toyota is alone, but this was Toyota's value proposition. Toyota doesn’t give discounts because their cars are in high demand unlike Nissan. Why would they give you $5000 off with somebody that will pay full price? They’re not losing a customer they’re just giving it to the person that will pay full price and not losing money. No business would do this any differently. Btw, here in Canada it’s still a 4 month+ wait for most of their models, and all models on wait list that come in are already sold.

I just spent 2 months trying to buy a certified Toyota or Lexus. They have some serious issues and this comes from a 30 year buyer of those brands. I walked away from them due to the way they treated me and bought a new VW Jetta. I have not bought a VW since 1990. The Toyota and Lexus dealers give you a price and then add 3 to 4 thousand dollars of dealer mark up. Many will not even return your calls about a car. These manufacturers make huge profits only to further cheapen their products the following year. We are now at the point of Toyota selling cheap plastic, adding problematic and unreliable turbos and raising their MSRP's to levels that are no longer affordable. They've lost their loyal fanbase because they refused to listen to them. Now they are left with inferior products that no one wants. They could only fool people for so long until they figure it out. Sorry to say but toyotas went downhill with quality and workmanship when they started making them in the US!!! Japanese workers are under more pressure to make quality cars and trucks and live for their companys, just not the same in the US!! Use to be that way in the US in the 50s and 60s but not anymore!!

Haha. You said the quiet part too loud. The greed here is insane. Auto workers want up to 100$ an hour but have no American pride in their output. Just lookee at the big 3! Before you call me a liar. When the workers find out about Toyotas record profits? Woah boy!!! Yet they'll forget about the engine defects and the recalls because of poor manufacturing and development 😂😅! You stirred the pot fella. But you're 💯 correct, lol! Robotics just put the foot to the door.

Highlander sales are broken down now between the regular version and the L version. which is new....Half of the Highlander sales are now for the L model , so the overall sales numbers for Highlander are not down but even or up for 2024 !!! Please look at the sales numbers before reporting to the public !!! Crown is an all new model and 14,000 sales for the entire quarter 3 months is not very good ... when Buick sold 14,000 similar size LaCrosse or Lucerne models for 3 months.. it was reported that they had terrible sales !! The media also reported that Tesla sales were terrible in CA , way down from last year .. but they failed to report that the Model Y is the best selling product, car or truck in CA .. by far .. and the best selling car is the Model 3 in CA ....facts are facts .. many liberal media people now don't like Elon since he supports Trump.....Look into the numbers before judging.

Sales are down due to certification sorrows and schandalig, costs Toyota hundreds of thousands of sales. It is not due to lack of demand...sales are very good in the Usa and Europe, down 11% in China. Given the factcthat Toyota has still no Bev's line up in place, a good result.
