Toyota Sienna VSC / Trac Off Problem 

Yo, man I have to say at first I was a little skeptical not having seen any of your great videos but I tries this trick, after many auto mechanical visits to only have the light come back on, and by gosh it worked problem solved. I told grandma we have to at least get a click or two. Thank you for your time and your knowledge!!

Very interesting, I work as a service advisor at Toyota and we get these vans in all the time for steering intermediate shaft play causing the clunk and minor play, but we have never ran into this issue with the rack bushings.

You can get this" tack off" warning when the battery is drained. Also when you mistakenly cross the booster cable while trying to Charge the battery. The fix is to disconnect your battery cable completely from the battery post. Charge your battery before reconnecting your battery cable. This will reprogram your vehicle Computer module.

Hey. I haven’t seen you uploaded any new video in a while! Welcome back. Good to know where it is exactly. But mine is a 2015 Sienna model. So it might be a little different but should be similar concept.

I have this light on, and no steering play. Could you please give the link to the video you refer to? My TPMS light has been on and off for many years but usually the tire pressures are totally fine. Van is 2009 Sienna XLE. But today it's check engine, VSC, and TRAC OFF, which immediately caught my attention! Traction button does nothing. Will check the tire pressure as soon as I get home, steering seems to lean slightly to the left, but very slightly. Any idea how much the issues causing this light that you mention in your video can cost in a general range? Maybe it's time for me to look for a new family van? Any ideas on what brands are most reliable in 2023 for family vans? I love this van! Vans are so handy! And yeah. I'm a mom sitting in the parking lot outside my kids school after morning dropoff googling this light thing. Haha, so stereotypical ;) [My other vehicle is a 2022 GMC AT4 HD 3500 diesel SWR super crew, which I personally tow a 35ft trailer with. So not JUST your typical family van mom. Lol]

Have an ‘08 Sienna XLE. had all these random misfire codes VSC light and even would have to shut my van down as the “traction control” light would blink along with the engine light causing the van to lose power and decrease in speed, till I shut it off and restarted it. Seems like maybe the compression was changing over the 220,000 miles as i started putting premium gas in and the higher octane was the key.. as all the codes went away (once cleared) and never came back. Same original spark plugs. I did change one injector as it did have that code come up for the number 2. But the check engine lights would still come on. But same spark plugs on all 6 cylinders as those back are just too hard to change without a good reason. Again premium gas and all my check engine lights and blinking lights are a thing of the past and it’s nice having a dash free of those. So there’s a thought.

I have the same problem on new rack and pinion. It’s moving the same, like in your video. And now I have a check engine/vsc/trac off lights on. How to solve this problem? Thanks!

And that would take care of it for a week or so then back again, usually one the Highway. So off to the shoulder again as the van would slowly lose power and buck and gas be basically unresponsive Seems like maybe the compression was changing over the 200,000 miles as i started putting premium gas in and the higher octane was the key.. as all the codes went away (once cleared) and never came back. Same spark plugs. I did change one injector as it did have that code come up for the number 2. But the check engine lights would still come on. But same spark plugs on all 6 cylinders as those back are just too hard to change without a good reason. Again premium gas and all my check engine lights and blinking lights are a thing of the past and it’s nice having a dash free of those. Problem solved for like 9 months now and counting.
