Over the years, I have had the good fortune of filming the former factory Toyota TF105 & TF108 Formula 1 [F1] Cars of the Panasonic Toyota Racing Team. Although I collected the material in my possession to make this video, you rarely get a chance to see them in action. The occasions were the 2021 Historic Minardi Day and the Goodwood FOS 2018 & 2019 editions. The Fuchs Neue Technologie (FNT) company based near Ulm, Germany, acquired the cars and equipment from the former Toyota Formula 1 racing team and used them on special occasions managed on the track by the company "Team FNT". The 2005 TF105 single-seater pilots Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher reached fourth place in the constructors' world championship. It was powered by the 3.0-litre Toyota RVX-05 V10 engine capable of developing 940hp at 19,000 rpm. It is moved by a 7-speed sequential semi-automatic gearbox controlled by electro-hydraulic steering wheel levers, plus reverse. The single-seater of the 2008 season, the TF108, scored 56 points and 5th place in the constructors' world championship. The pilots of the time were Jarno Trulli and Timo Glock. The power unit is the 2.4-Liter V8 RVX-08 capable of developing 750hp at 19,000 rpm. It's moved by a 7-speed gearbox made in collaboration with Toyota/WilliamsF1/Xtrac controlled by electro-hydraulic steering wheel levers, plus reverse. The entire parable of the Japanese manufacturer in Formula 1 began in 2001 with its debut in 2002 and ended in 2009. I have to thank my friends and RU-vidrs ‪@19Bozzy92‬, ‪@MattyB727‬ & ‪@NM2255‬ with whom I collaborated to realise this video. Enjoy! 😉
Buona visione! 😉

It's cool remember when Toyota was in Formula 1,the Japanese brand really deserves return but as Toyota Gazoo Racing F1 These RVX-05 and RVX-08 sound really glorious
@Italiansupercarvideo
@Italiansupercarvideo 2 года назад
I agree that Toyota is one of the most important manufacturers globally and deserves to return to F1. However, let us remember that it was a real economic disaster, better than the 4th place in the constructors' championship they could not reach. These cars, however, sound beautiful, with glorious naturally aspirated V10 and V8 engines. But, unfortunately, it's not easy to see these cars in action.

Nice. The end of F1 was getting near. I am a bit surprised Toyota with it's successful Prius hybrid never went back. Hybrids aren't very exciting, though, I kind of don't blame them. Imagine trying to have parts made for this car. It would be worth every penny just for the sound!
@Italiansupercarvideo
@Italiansupercarvideo 2 года назад
I think the current F1 is now too far from the real production of vehicles. Toyota probably has greater public visibility in rallies than F1. Ferrari employs some of its technology on exclusive road supercars, while Toyota, a mass and popular builder, could hardly justify using this technology on cheap cars. If only F1 would go back and stop thinking about the hybrid ... if we want Soundless Formula, we already have the Formula E championship...

@upsidedowndog1256 2 года назад
@@Italiansupercarvideo Yes, already have Formula E. About as exciting as watching paint dry! F1 tech used to eventually trickle down to other industries. NASA and other aerospace fields have benefitted greatly from racing.

@@upsidedowndog1256 Hahaha, LOL. I must tell you that I have tried several times to watch Formula E races, at least when there is competition and battle between the drivers, as, in any motorsport, there is involvement. But I must tell you that the lack of sound (they seem to be the electric lifters that are used in warehouses) and the fact that the driver has to manage the energy because otherwise, he does not get to the end of the race are two things that I do not conceive. I saw riders lose the race on the last lap due to a lack of electricity...

I still have high hopes for Toyota to make a return in F1, but instead of the brand itself, its tuning subsidiaries like TRD or GR, maybe one day, someday, am still hoping
@Italiansupercarvideo

I think this could only happen if the brand decides to leave the WRC. I don't think Toyota is willing to spend that much money running both championships. Indeed a return of the Japanese manufacturer to F1 would be fantastic.

I really would have liked to see Toyota be more successful in this era of F1. Not for the love of Toyota as a brand, but for the success of F1 during that era. Could have led to more manufacture involvement. What could have led to more v10's made by big brands. Just a theory of what could have been.
@Italiansupercarvideo
@Italiansupercarvideo 5 месяцев назад
If you remember, Toyota did it with the Lexus and the LFA Model, which had that fantastic V10, probably one of the most beautiful engines ever. Unfortunately for the Japanese brand, those years in F1 were an absolute bloodbath, spending a lot and reaping very little. It reminds me of the same fate that BMW suffered upon its return to F1, spending a lot but not achieving the desired results. This sport is probably the most expensive and competitive of the modern era. It is challenging to achieve victories or world champion titles, even for large manufacturers with enormous amounts of money. Look at Ferrari for how many years it hasn't won anything, and it's the team that spends the most overall.

Which is why i've loved Formula 1 for 25+ years, strategy and design is as important as other obvious factors which make F1 so great. It always amazed me for how long F1 went without true mainstream success, until recently. The americans never embraced it like the Europeans (and Canadians), until Netflix came along. I've collected every Giorgio Piola Tech analysis from 2001-2020 ( i'm behind on the recent years copies), just for the reason of how much info about upgrades that were brought throughout the season, for each individual track. It's great to be able to speak with another like minded individual. That Lexus LFA V10 was Japanese engineering at its best. @@Italiansupercarvideo
