I talked to one of the owners of the company yesterday about a question I had and I have got to tell you, he was awesome! He went above and beyond explaining and educating me about his product and what scope would best fit what I was looking for. I am going to be switching every rifle scope I own to Tract. They also have a "veteran and law enforcement" discount which is awesome! (with valid proof) Thanks for another great video sir.
Yes yes yes! These scopes are freaking awesome. You know I love them! I like they have this version available now. Also I’m glad you are able to review them now, when I ordered mine you didn’t have any reviews for them yet, so thanks to both Johns for keeping you on the loop. Joe maybe you should have mentioned the different type of reticles they offer and also the fact you can ask Tract to manufacture a custom turret for your rifle, that’s something I think differentiate this company.....also made in Japan and US company!
@@ColoradoAirgunner You are right the 34mm only have that option, I have the 30mm and there are 4 options with that one, I was assuming it was the same with this 34mm
I know I'll never afford or justify spending the money on most the scopes you review...but I still watch your reviews because they're informative and humorous. Be well >:0
Met Mr. Joe of Tract Toric in Toronto at the TACCOM Canada today. I was passing by and stopped when l saw Tract Scopes stall. We started talking and l mentioned this video. Checked out the scope and must say it was butter smooth and had very clear glass and not to forget it is built solid like a tank. Had l not been down financialy l would have purchased it right away. I have to make a final payment for another scope.
Hey there Joe. You’re wrecking my marriage and my retirement!😂. You first turned me onto Tract a couple of years ago and neither you or the two Jons have ever let me down. So I’ve been eyeing this beast for over a year now. There was an outdoor symposium here in the Seattle area this last weekend and Tract had a booth there. Walking over I told myself I’m just doing research for maybe buying it down the road. That’s like an alcoholic going into a bar telling himself he’s just having ice water. So being able to hold it and look through it I was still strong as an oak resisting the urge to buy it. Then Will the rep told me everything was 10% off if I bought during the expo. After totaling up the scope, the covers and the MDT rings, seeing how much I’d save by buying now I just couldn’t not buy it. Hence the disturbance of my matrimonial bliss 😢😊. Guy please support Joe and the work he does for us. I send $25 in every time I buy something on his recommendation. Just think of all the money we’ve all wasted buying junk because we didn’t know better. So Joe, you’re check’s in the mail so to speak.
Man I love your videos so much! I got the Delta Titanium HD 2.5-15x56 as you had suggested, fantastic scope. Managed to find a used one for my Mauser M18 308 and tried it last week, worked perfect! Cheers.
Tract scope simply ROCK for less money.! It’s all I’ll shoot and over the past couple years it’s all I’ve been shooting for the most part. I absolutely love them.!
Have you ever had a issue with your scopes also how long have you owned them. I’m highly considering buying an MOA version for my 6.5 creedmoor ruger precision
I've had a longstanding love affair with Vortex, but I'd consider one of these... you've proven out not just this one but all of Tract Optics' offerings.
This is why I check your vids out.. always seeing top tier optics I never heard of. Have always used NF, Trij, S&B, and eotech. Now I have more options thanks to you.
Cyclops Videos Joe W Rhea , so I’ve got around 1,300.00 to spend on a long range optic this month, been looking at the Leupold LRP, but was wondering if there’s something else you’d recommend in that price range.. thanks.
that's a marvel of mechanical engineering! a review of this scope from you is from a true connoisseur of scopes. you have the ability to see all those important little details, which is why we watch the channel! have you thought about reviewing spotting scopes, or doing budget/good/premium review of them?
Tract rules. Awesome scopes at unbelievable prices (no middle man to double the price). The binoculars are just as sharp and clear. When you call them you are talking to the owners. Thanks for the review.
This has been very helpful. Trying to find a Scope to set on my Browning, I like what I saw here. Thanks for your Knowledge. Now I can have a Beer. lol
Hey brother I been watching ur stuff for a while and like ur honest review on shit, but this time, and I mean this time, you had me, I’m an old retired Army vet, 22years and I love to shoot, I’m a big time vortex guy, and they are great and I love their service, but when you compared this scope to the Razor and it’s on the heavy side, I know because I have one! So now you had me on the hook, I had to order this scope, so I did, I hope ur on point, it should be here Friday, I’ll let you know how it goes, thanks for making me spend more money, lol really thanks 🙏
Wow! I got my Tract Toric ELR today and they don't include a manual. I've never sold or bought a scope that didn't come with a manual. For a $1700 scope I should get a manual.
WTF do you need a manual for? The specs are on the box and the website. Controls are universal. Reticle is either MOA or Mil which are also universal. Not to be snarky but if you don’t know how to run this thing you’re not at the skillset needed to even use it.
@@mrjeffjob dude, you are being snarky. You’re actually being a dickhead by saying that antagonistic crap. I actually like knowing the the specs on the stadia lines for ranging purposes and thickness as well as anything else. MOA or Mil is not the only thing in a reticle. The other thing in all the years I’ve been buying scopes and in the year that I sold them professionally they ALL came with manuals. In all my competition scopes they all come with manuals. If you weren’t such an ass I would gladly take you shooting and see if you could keep up. also, dummy, if you say, “not to be snarky” means your being snarky and you know it so that makes you an antagonistic ass.
Ever since you first reviewed this scope I’ve been wanting one. I currently have a Schmidt Bender 3-20 Ultrashort on a Sphur qd that I switch between my Scar 17 chambered in 6.5 Creedmore, my Master Piece Arm chassis Rem 700 5r bolt gun, and my CZ 455 .17 hmr bolt gun. I want to have a dedicated one for my MPA 700 chassis bolt gun.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos do you have a top 10 best bang list? I’d love to know it. Every time I buy a scope I spend weeks researching! You sure could help me out 😅
I have been buying some Vortex stuff, this time around I wanted to buy one made in the USA due to covid and U.S. china tension. So I bought a cheap Leuplode VX freedom 4-12x50. Look forward to mounting it up in a few minutes and taking it out.
I dunno, my riton looks pretty good for about a 1/3rd of the price. I mean this is definitely a very nice optic. I just believe optics have been overpriced for years. Good to see some companies actually doing something about that
As always a great review! One thing I don’t think you mentioned is how close the Parallax yardages were. I will tell you where my mind is going with that if you’ll hold on to your seat for a moment. I have always thought that if you can get a scope to track perfect parallax, once you’ve focused it perfectly you could just look at your yardage mark and get your distance. Then dial in your settings quicker to make the shot. I may be way off on this though because I’ve tried it with so many other scopes and it never works very well. All those scopes were priced under $600 too though. Anyway, I’ve always wondered about that. Maybe you can shed some light on it. Keep em coming.
I've has many scopes in my lifetime including Leupold, Swarovski, Zeiss, Meopta, Athlon. Recon G2. None of had parallax that even came close to the yardage. Now I bought the new Tract in the recently released MOA version. One of the first things I noticed was that the parallax matched the yardage EXACTLY. It is a very narrow window. I thought WOW!, now I can measure distance usage my parallax knob!
If I’m looking to get into long range shooting I want a scope I can grow into should I go with this one or an IOR SFP? My budget is 2 grand. I know tho that IOR ARE SUPAA SWEET Is there truly that big of a difference between first focal point and second focal point for just long range shooting? Thanks for y’all’s advise!
@@tiffcozart5432 define long range. Are you talking about 500yds or 1k or 2k yards? What caliber of rifle are you going to be shooting? And yes there is a huge difference in first focal and second focal plane. 2nd focal is useless for me on any optic that you will be dialing elevation with your turrets. Look up some videos on 1st vs 2nd focal and you will see why. The tract scopes are awesome and are easily worth 2x the msrp......however the IOR glass is "in my opinion" without equal. If you are shooting pretty much anything in a short action I'd go with the tract and spend the rest of your budget on freedom seeds and range time. If you are shooting magnum bolt face or longer distances 1200yds+ id go with IOR TX ranger or crusader. Magnification means less than image quality at long range......who needs to see a blurry image at 30x Magnification? Jmho
I went to a gun show to a booth that was by a window and I looked through this scope at a rooftop 100 yards away and I could see the individual grains of sand tarred on that shingle!. I've looked through a lot of $5,000 scopes and this thing is every bit as clear as most of them! If it holds zero on my 28 Nosler it will be the best scope I own. Got one coming!
Comparable the Scopes twice the money. One of the most beautiful beautiful exterior finishes. Video doesn't do it justice. You've got to see it in person! Excellent review!
Ahhhh this is the Telescopic Sight from my Dreams!!! Lol great Video!!! I wanted to truly thank you for the Reviews and stopping me from buying Junk on my Budget. I went with a Sightmark Rapid 5-20 and it’s the 3rd Sightmark I own and the Glass on this is amazing even at 20x and comparable to my old fixed 10x Bausch and Lomb with Schott Glass. I hope more people subscribe here so they don’t make a Monstrum mistake like I almost did lol. Semper Fidelis and stay safe in the lone Star State....
Just curious, when did B&L have schott glass? Any documentation? I have a few B&L and all are Japan. Their glass is great for the vintage of scope. Just never seen any advertised with Schott glass
@@drd1924 B&L absolutely did NOT use Schott Glass in there Optics, my Ancient fixed 10x vaguely says Diavari on the eye piece. I was thinking B&L while watching Joes Video. I’m not sure of anyone now that still produces with Schott Glass. I’m thinking Swarovski etc. maybe but I rarely look at those guys, way outta my wheelhouse.
@@willtrax71 Cool, thanks for the clarification. I don't remember when Schott Glass started to become the pinnacle everything was compared to but Once Unertl stopped making scopes then Euro Schott Glass was the next best thing. So I thought perhaps B&L maybe sourced some Schott glass for a short time maybe 30 yrs ago and I missed it somehow.
@@drd1924 oh absolutely I get confused and a little flighty as my Grandmother called it lol in my advanced years. It’s hard to beat the quality and clarity of European/German Glass and I think that’s why Schott and S&B and the top-tier Optics are held in such high regards and high price of course lol. The old 10x I have is the clearest Optic I own with the #4 crosshairs and doesn’t get used much unfortunately.
Awesome scope but not many can parralax down to 10m , the only thing pushing me towards the smidt and bender , i do love my vortex's ffp awesome reticcles . I put one on a hw 97 at 100m i could pop eggs every time .. in 177 . Utterly awesome
Thanks Joe. Its great you take the time to show all the features of the scopes. Sometimes reveiws leave you guessing. Does it have a zero stop is a big one for me. Often this information is hard to find. Thx
Obviously you didn’t watch the hole video. Big part of the video was showing this exact feature, and how to set the zero stop and showing it working before and after it was set.
@@TwinTurboLsx you obviously lack comprehension. This was not in relation to Joe talking about zero stop info missing. It was a complementary gesture saying he gives great reviews. I will make myself clear. Often reveiws not Joes leave you guessing by the information they don't give ie zero stops is there one on that scope. This is a important item on a scope for me. Joe is always great by the way he demonstrates his turret fetish.
I've been considering giving Tract my hard earned $$$! Seems like their Warranty, direct owner customer service, quality, fit, and finish are A#1! First light, last light clarity and definition what I'm concerned about for my eyes using glasses. Plus the Tracking, return to zero capabilities! And saving some $$$!
Looks very good! How would you say it compares to the Element Nexus in clarity and brightness? I almost bought a Razor HD Gen 2 after shooting with one the other day, unreal quality, clarity, and brightness. If it really is better than than the Razor, I will be blown away. It's down to the Nexus, HD gen 2, or the Tract. I just wish this Tract offered more than one reticle choice. I'm a MOA shooter and in love with the EBR-7C reticle. I have it on every gun I own. Yea, yea, I'm a Vortex nut. Thanks for the review. If there's anyone out there I trust enough to take the leap and change brands without ever having seen one, it's you!
I would rank them like this Tract , Razor HD then the Nexus . All are great scopes . The TractvELR and the Delta Stryker are the two best sub $2000 scopes on the market . No doubt in my mind .
Wish it didn't have the 1600 dollar price tag attached to the use of it. Im a gun smith and seeing the development of optics coincide with technology should then be seeing- usually a price drop as things like lense making and tube fabrication are not only streamlined but are penny's on the dollar to these companies yet we still have price tags that our grand parents where seeing equivalent of when they where getting into optics themselves. Personally I find this to be praying on the public who are constantly wanting better equipment and accurcy and company's take advantage of that. Vortex has to be one of the worst up marks on their materials compared to cost and production time then any other optic manufacturers currently. This isnt to be a sport for the rich, this is to be a way that we as American citizens can defend and provide means to survive and feed ourselves. Its a shame that American companies are now more concerned about money then the importance of the product to the public. Good shit is hard to find and paying for it shouldn't be.
Hello, now is the choice between Cronus and Toric , I live in Ukraine and do not have the opportunity to look at them live! Help with making a decision!
Hi Joe... more than one year after this review, you still think that this scope is a good one?, does the ARKEN SH4 GEN II performance is similar to Tract Toric´s?
Hey Joe, another great video-review from you. I am now in the decision between the Delta-Stryker and the Tract Toric (both 4.5-30). You tested both. What would you prefer ? Where are the differences between them ? Both are manufactured by LOW. It seems to me (but this is difficult to justify in a video) that the Tract is a notch brighter and the illumination of the recticle is better than the Stryker. From the point of "attractive", I like the Stryker a little bit more.
How much do TRACT pay you for these reveiw or are you undpaid? Om standing between Delta Stryker HD, TORIC and Razor G3 HD and I just dont know which one to buy, they all seems good but the TORIC is cheapest.
First off NO company pays me for my reviews … it’s how I keep them honest . The Tract is absolutely top of the food chain at its price point . Get it and don’t look back
I own a Schmidt bender PMII, 5X25X56 FFP. Bottom line is this, Joe you are a straight shooter but there is no way for you to know how well that scope will tract five years from now. There are scope reviews that go back 15 years on great scopes and they still say they are great scopes today. Before I would spend $1694 for a Tract or $2699 for mine I would do through research and side by side comparison before I part with hard earned money. By the way I purchased mine at Eurooptic.com and they overnight it to me and gave me 15 days to review it as long as I did not mount it or my money back no questions asked. I look forward to your reviews and would love it if you started a live chat for questions and answers.
If they removed the illumination to come down on price and made that center dot a little bigger I would put a toric on everything from here on out. I dont need illumination so i dont want to pay for it, and the reticle is almost too fine. Its not really usable at low magnification
I have had both the Razor HD gen 2 and the Toric. The Toric is a lot of scope for the money, and there are some things I like more about the Toric. But my new prs gun is getting another Razor. Dont think you can go wrong either way though.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos I am very happy for you buddy. One quick note re 3:23, it looks like you changed the aspect ratio (ratio of width to height) which makes the elevation turret look skinny. It's fine to scale the footage but you always want to maintain the original aspect ratio even if that leaves you with blank space.
Joe, I'm a cheap bastard. Maybe one day I'll splurge. I'm still gonna watch all your vids. Mostly for you, but also because by then I'll know what to buy when my tight ass ain't so tight.
@@CyclopsJoeVideos I'll be watching! You've definitely had a couple right around $100 I liked. I'd say in the next month or so I'll decide on one. Thanks man. I know video editing is a pain in the ass and you spend a lot of time making videos. Know you are appreciated brother.
I just bought a Vortex strike eagle 3-18x44, I wanted another swfa but they're all sold out hard to find right now because of the covid-19 crap, or I was really hoping to try the Arken EP4 after seeing your review on it, but same thing you can't find them right now....so I was at my local Cabela's and I found a strike eagle that was on clearance for 350$ for 350$ I was pretty happy with it but at retail cost I would have been pretty damn disappointed with it...so vortex will not get my money in the future, unless it's marked down way under retail...

Thanks
They sertainly arnt gonne contact you again now:-D ...with your comment about going back and forth for warranty more then they sit on the gun,you saved me from buying any vortex...EVER thx :-)
Nice 👍🏼. Please can you make a video about Baraska Swat 10-40x50 we want to know about barska scope how to zero those scope and your review about said scope thanks.
I would love to but Nightforce won’t send me a loaner to review . My channel isn’t large enough for them I suppose . No worries ..I’ll get there eventually
Hi Joe, I really appreciate you doing these videos. Your videos help out a lot when looking to buy. You probably save several guys a lot of money. I just bought a Savage Arms 110 300PRC precision rifle. After watching this video, I got online and bought one of these Tract Toric scopes! I am needing some advice tho...... My rail on my rifle already has the 20MOA on it. I am looking to buy a Scope mount worthy of the scope and rifle. Can you please recommend what I need. Are F3R mounts worthy and what height do I need? I really appreciate and will trust what you recommend. Thanks!
@@rogersmart3537 They have a very handy chart on their website. Stack pennies on the rail till your scope is the height it needs to be. Count them and cross reference their chart and it tells you the height you need. Very ingenious.
Hi Joe, I'm just wondering what you think of the digital scopes. I'm looking at the ATN X-sight II 5-20. The reviews look pretty good, especially for someone like me with less than perfect eyesight. Love your videos btw. Cheers. Mark.
Good review... but implying that Vortex products aren’t incredible quality and have have too many issues sounds a bit ridiculous. Look forward to trying one of these soon though.
Hey Joe I went to the website and couldn’t find the scope from your review! In fact all I could find was a few pair of Bino’s and some 30 mm tract scopes. Not the 34 mm. I just busted started going through some of your playlist last week. One thing I’d like is cost of the product. Especially since I can’t find it on there web site lol
Heya brother.... love your reviews! You got me wanting both the Delta Stryker HD 4.5-30 and this Tract Toric but obviously.... I can't justify having 2 of them! LOL.... if you were spending your own cash.... and it came down to the Delta or the Toric.... which would you choose bud??? Might be tough as they both seem to be spectacular optics for the money....
Matt honest to God it’s one of the few absolute dad has an optics for me it was simply come down to which radical I preferred nothing more neither one is better than the other in any other way it’s just a matter of radical preference they both hit it out of the ballpark
@@CyclopsJoeVideos Appreciate you getting back to me brother.... I went ahead and took a chance on the Delta.... tracking shows it should arrive here tomorrow. There are a lot of reviews on RU-vid about the Tract.... but the Delta.... no so much. Figured it's been a pretty big hit across the pond... and the Europeans are pretty picky and critical when it comes to everything LOL..... so if they are also happy with it.... well... I'd give her a look see! Pretty excited. Thanks again for the great reviews as this one wasn't even on my radar until I checked out your vids!
Didn't see it asked yet here, and I didn't find a review by you of it yet either, Joe... This Tract vs. the Athlon Cronus BTR? New fan; appreciate your input. These were both vying for the top spot on a PRS Production Class rifle I want to set up.
At 4:20, that sniper is f****** nuts. There was only 1 tomato that was stolen from my grocery basket at Stater Bros. And then I watched this video and I noticed you had it. What the hell Joe LOL.
So Ive Been watching many of your videos and there all awesome ! one question would you suggest the toric company at its mid to lower end or the New arken at there top end ? Price seems similar.
This is a better scope , the Nexus is a very nice scope . But this is a step above . The build quality and the way the adjustments move have a super high quality feel to them .
