1. Wear shoes 2. Not doing dance cardio Bonus: do dance cardio before muscular structure 3. Not being intentional with moves 4. Preview the workout 5. Not measuring yourself 6. Not having a refreshed music playlist 7. Not enough space 8. Not having a knee pad 9. Not following consistent schedule 10. Not pushing yourself

I just started TA Method and am on phase 4 and today will be day 5. I also wasn't wearing shoes most of the time unless I couldn't keep a grip. I have been taking 2 weeks to finish all 10 days. I do other things like walk and yard work which is hard in my yard. Thanks for all your tips!

Great tips, thanks for that! Been doing TAM since 2013 and your tips are all on point!! Some days I do all the reps (2 days of the weekish) and some days I do slightly less reps if I'm feeling sore. I still get great results. I'm finding better results with cardio before MS.

I am SO EXCITED for you! I know what you mean. It's surprising how few people talk about it, on RU-vid at least, and it can feel somewhat lonely - but there are SO many of us out there. Now that I am doing the streaming option, I can get a sense of just HOW many people with her community forum which is so comforting. Keep me posted with your progress! Glad you love TAM! I have found watching the legs summary Wednesday night is a best practice. I don’t watch the breakdown until AFTER my first attempt on Thursday. Great video! I've been doing TAM (Meta and other DVDs) off and on for almost 10 years. Quarantine got me back into it and I honestly don't know why I ever stopped haha. I started streaming 6 weeks ago and I'm obsessed! I pushed it a little this past week and did ATTAIN at too quick a pace and hurt my hip so taking it easy this week with START and no ankle weights. Still an awesome workout! I have to dedicate one day to dance cardio as I don't have the time to double up, and that works for me!

Woah! 10 years! That’s commitment! As much as I love it, how I miss the social aspect of group classes. Still working through that. I started attain this week too - oooph. The second day and a few days following, I kept the weights light - it was a lot for me haha. I figure there is no way around the struggle of leveling up to advanced. Hope your hip heels quickly! Taking it easy after that is a good way to go.

Great informative video again Rachel! Glad you’ve incorporated the knee pad. Playlist can be predictable, shuffle 🔀 or if you have amazon you can just select a station. I personally love disco: Kylie Minogue and some French music. Consistency is key to achieve your results but let us remember again, there are tons of people who are shedding pounds without doing much. Depending on what you want to achieve, Diet is really the cornerstone. As for what you point out about the method, the community is great , but I also have a sense of people being a fanatic of Tracy and not picking on serious issues when it comes to her no cues way of teaching (let’s remember it’s a high end subscription) I’ve read numerous ladies taking about their knee getting injured , shoulders or even neck etc.. I like to stay away from drama, but my advise is you need patience to learn a move (and over time, understand the muscles worked/engaged). please be gentle with yourself, we don’t want to beat up our body. I know my personality and can’t stick with a workout for the entire week, so what I like to do is pick 10-15 moves and go for 15 reps when I’m on the go, and 20 moves when I feel I can dig longer. when you realize it’s just a matter of moving the body the entire game change! The method tend to shred your lower body , again we need to know our goal and choose /customize moves and ankles weight accordingly ❤️
@RundownwithRachel
@RundownwithRachel 3 года назад
So many great call outs! First, just added Kylie to my playlist! She has so much feel great music. I also need to start incorporating 🔀! Second, it’s so true how important it is to be patient. I keep telling myself it’s a marathon not a sprint. Third, studying the moves is key!!!! I find myself picking up on things days later at times! So much to observe. Fourth, you would think that for such a high end subscription service there would be cues/details. I’ve gotten used to it but when I first started it was frustrating. Mostly because I want guidance towards what the move is working on and where I should feel it to get the most out of it. Yet, there are women paying $900/month for the in person classes! Which says something! Thank you again Stephanie for your insights. Always appreciated!

Your videos inspired me to restart Metamorphosis. I have had the dvds for years but I don't think I have never got past the first month. Now I am really going to go all out with this method. I really resonated with the no shoes mistake. I never wear shoes either because I didn't think I need them and I don't really have workout shoes I can wear inside. Either I have to wash my old ones or buy new ones. I think that shoes are also good because they bring little extra weight to the workout and makes it more demanding (not that I really need that right now...)

Hi Rachel thank you so much for this breakdown! Like you I found TAM through Busbee Style. I just started with a workout TA posted on RU-vid for Vogue India to see what it was like. I am now looking forward to signing up and utilizing the free trial Erin Busbee recommended. Your top 10 couldn’t have come at a better time for me. My #1 takeaway is getting more padding for my knees and focusing on weight distribution. It was beginning to leave my knees aching. Glad to hear a few things I’m doing correctly such as my cardio first and I follow it with a 30 minute TA session. Also, I workout first thing....well after my coffee for sure 😉. DC is crucial. it releases the muscle contractions and is SO GOOD for your brain. Like a big exhale. There’s nothing I love more than pulling those weights off, feeling light on my feet and jumping right in to DC. The muscle confusion from the ankle weights makes you feel like you’re floating. I don’t recommend a break in between. And if you are thirsty, spit it out or prepare for C R A M P S Also: AIREX brand mat. I have an arthritic knee also, game changer.

Hi Rachel thanks so much for. your videos! I just joined the TA online studio as a beginner and have been stalking your channel for the past week or two. Your tips are so helpful and wanted to encourage you to keep it up! I was debating whether to either continue with TA Online (in Free Trial now) or do Meta first but finally decided that I will just stick to the TA Online Studio (beginner) as I find the resources are more helpful although I feel Meta may possibly be more structured? (not sure as I only saw a few of the videos online). The Breakdowns are helpful but I don't know if the breakdowns are more detailed in the original Meta. But I like that there aren't too many reps and already after 7 days I feel positive changes in my body although I weigh about the same. Like you - I will be cancelling my gym membership once the trial is over as I also had to prove to myself I could do it! Just to share some tips with you, I use a laptop also to stream and I use a rooster stand (very light weight) to prop up my Macbook. I also use Airpods and the great thing is that I just need to remove one of the airpods to pause the stream (in case I need to reposition, my apartment is too small and I need to shift around) and then I just put them back on my ears to restart the video (so much easier than trying to find a pause/restart button). Thanks again for all the tips and looking forward to future videos!

I am so happy you decided to take on the job of sharing your experience with the method workout. It has been helpful for me. You have much nailed my entire experience. So, please keep sharing. It is helping. So, are you now doing what level for an hour and thirty-minute cardio? If yes, what cardio are you doing.? I am confused because there are ones with instruction and the dance or ones with the other trainers. Keep up the good work. It is helpful. Have you used the locker room chat???
@RundownwithRachel
@RundownwithRachel 3 года назад
So so happy to hear this is helping you! Yes, exactly. 1 hour muscular structure and 30 min. Dance Cardio on most days. Some days I end up just doing dance cardio or just muscular structure - usually bc I didn’t make the time for it. I may do a video here soon on dance cardio alone bc it’s such a hot topic! Lately, in online studio, I’ve been following Catapult > Episode March 2021 with Nikki. I find she is easy to follow - she doesn’t seem like she is super random like other instructors can be. I haven’t watched the ones with instructions but probably should! It seems like there is SO MUCH INFO AVAILABLE but it’s a matter of sifting through it which only creates for more confusion 🤯 - especially Bc there can be conflicting details. One being, people throw around “if you don’t have 2 hours a day” when really, they should probably say “if you don’t have an hour and a half a day.” Which i learned through the locker room chat - and that is a TREMENDOUS resource for me on online studio. What I do is use the search function, in locker room, to search my question - to see if someone has already asked it - usually someone has - and I quickly get my answer. If no one has asked, I will post the question and it AMAZES ME how many helpful response I get! Hope this helps! Excited for you and your TAM journey 💕

Very helpful video....Just tried TA's metamorphosis for the first time today....I didnt really find it challenging for arms and abs and even legs- maybe if I do dance cardio first? That being said, my wrists were screaming at me....she spends a loooot of time, on the wrists with hands and shoulders supporting majority of the weight... I appreciate your attention to my questions: 1. does it become easier as you keep doing the workout? 2. any suggestions please to make things easier on shoulders and wrists?
@RundownwithRachel
@RundownwithRachel 3 года назад
These are such great questions! For the arms and everything else, as much as you can, tighten and emphasize as you move to find the burn. I think of it as pretending like I’m lifting a heavy weight that’s not there - that is, create my own resistance. That will make a big difference. For the standing abs, really tighten your core and engage to feel your muscles working. As far as your wrists, you are not alone in that pain! So many have hand, wrist or knee pain at first, but after you do the method for the while, you will strengthen enough so that you don’t “collapse” into the joints but rather liftl up and out of the joints, (being light on your hands and knees). If you don’t already, be sure to have a foam mat to help provide a soft layer and at times you may find it’s helpful to use a towel under the wrists - which Tracy does during the Online Studio classes and can help a ton! Let me know if those tips help!

I don't wear shoes for muscular structure because it is like having weights on my feet. I never add her extra weights. I would not be able to do the reps if I have shoes on.

Oh interesting!!! I find the shoes help me have more grip. But some have said there are benefits to doing the mat workout without shoes. Something to do with strengthening the feet and ankles.

👍 I wonder why the studios always do dance cardio after in a combined class? 🤷‍♀️
@RundownwithRachel
@RundownwithRachel 2 года назад
That’s a great question. Tracy once shared that doing dance cardio after helps with muscle tone. But I wonder if it has something to do with giving people an option to leave after the mat workout instead of doing dance cardio if they want to. I can only imagine I would be wiped after one of her studio classes 🤣

What is the proper schedule? Four days, five, three, 80? :)
@RundownwithRachel

Haha I know right? For Metamorphosis Tracy advises 6 days/week, for Online Studio 4-7. It seems most people find a schedule that works for them and stick to that.

Can you please talk about your results with regards to the butt workout. Others have complained TA workouts flattened their butt, and it doesn’t give the bubble butt ( well rounded bum) that is desired. Would appreciate your thoughts on how the workouts have affected the shape of your booty. Many thanks 🙏.

True! I naturally have a bubble butt, but lost a good portion when doing Meta. Then I added 5 lb. ankle weights, 25 reps each leg and it is back and fabulous. J Lo did that with Tracy’s workout and of course, her figure is magnificent. Perhaps start with 2 lbs.

Wonder Woman X Wow! Thank you for such a precise response. Always wondered how the bum workouts flattened the bum. Now that you mentioned the added weights it makes a lot of sense. However, does this mean it is difficult to develop a well rounded lifted bum without weights with TA workouts? Workouts like Pilates and ballet can get results without weights though...🤔. Just thinking aloud here.

This has happened to me, too! I actually touch on it in todays video "Top 10 Tips." Wonder Woman X is so right that the weights should help and if anyone has a butt to admire its JLO 😂 - I have also learned that sticking with it, and being patient, has brought peoples butts back 🍑

Tracy’s method has always resulted in one’s most teeny, tiny, and, lean body which she expresses in so many interviews. Athletic, yet still mainly a Dancer’s body with 3 lb. dumbbells for upper body and none for lower body in her Metamorphosis program. My bum was def high, tight, and rounded, with no ankle weights, yet proportionally smaller to my natural size and figure. She does have DVD’s where she adds 1-2 lb. ankle weights though... which I own of course 😜👍🏼😉 It’s worth experimenting for yourself by measuring before and after 90 days.
