Welders always get the dirty work fixing someone else’s mess. Not meaning Mike.Just the manufacture cutting corners.Love your videos Man Behind The Scenes.MBTS.For short.
Aaron you stated in an earlier Video about using a ' GOUGER ' , were you talking about an Air Arc Gouger ? We used them on our railroad track working equipment . Man they are great , gouge the weld until you see a hair line crack . Weld is cut and grind the welds and if it's new metal that was just a little off or out of alignment , line'm up and reweld . If my memory is correct the gouger is set on NEGATIVE with a positive ground . At least our overhaul shop welder was that way . We didn't work on locomotives or rail cars , just track working equipment . Arc-Air was the name of what we used , we did have torch gougers but they were a lot harder to use as they were a lot messier and harder to see the hair line crack , too much flowing metal versus the Arc-Air that blew the old weld with the air . Great videos young man . We know who the real welder is on-site . Thanks man . As we say here in Arkansas ' Keep them cards and letters come'n . Later bro , Danny ' Rex ' Vint
WOW! you were actually able to get mike to get dirty for once! That may be the dirtiest I have seen him! Great job on welding up those cracks! Wish my welds looked that good! Mike is lucky to have you around! That kind of repair would cost big bucks at a truck shop!
Aaron you need to get Not Your Average Millennial. To work with you on one of these jobs. Then while you're grinding. Have him hold a bag. Tell him he has to catch the sparks. Because you recycle them. Lol God bless
You did a great job cutting and grinding all that old stuff out and cleaning it up making it easier to cut then . And like you said I have found that when something is boxed in and closed off and if it gets water in it and just rots away just like wood does in the same situation . But I know that when you get done with this project, it will be better than it was, when it was new . I will see you later sometime when you finish this job up . So be careful and stay safe . As always, Jeffrey !!!
Boy that trailer has some battle scares! Nice job explaining the cuts and weld repair s. Notice the music has improved, nice change. And last but not least Logger Wade, hit the nail on the head, he got you good 😂👍🇺🇸
Frank man I really appreciate that but are a lot better people out there than me I REALLY do appreciate all the support you have been giving me thanks for watching 🤙🏻
Wouldn't it be nice if people who designed that stuff had an understanding of what can happen long term? It is sure nice watching an expert making repairs to fix things in a correct manner that will last. And watching you weld? Wow1
Top video MTBS, as I have got older I have a learnt to appreciate working with new metal! I think all equipment designers should spend a month working on their machinery and maybe they may just appreciate how stupid some of their decisions are in the real world!
Its good to see you doing proper vertical welds. Most of the amitures on RU-vid are always going down hand. Thats the difference between a professional and amateur welders.
Thought is was one of Dirt Perfects vlog, then after watching, saw it was yours, now I'm subscribed to your channel as well!!excellent work with torch and welder, and hearing you explain the process helps greatly to understand what we're seeing. I loved to watch my Uncle Ed weld on the tractors, dozer, and farm equipment inthe shop,he went to Genesee School of Welding up in NY, I believe another master welder like yourself!! Great Video!!
Standard Dirt Perfect thinking seems to be "We have to put this Unit down for repairs soon, let's see how dirty we can get it before we start then leave it dirty." LOL Sorry Aaron but Mike got you on the 120, both little Trailers, even Kleeman doing Service on the C3500; you guys are good not to complain. Good job on cleaning area surrounding areas near repairs to avoid contamination of the Welds! Thanks for the Videos!!
Aaron thank you for your video I know you are the one who does most of the work 💪dp always sneaks off leaves you with all of the work to do. I think 🤔Hr needs to give you a pay raise.
Figuring out how to get that double box beam cut out seemed a lot like an archeological dig. Just go one layer at a time so you can expose what’s underneath. Also all that dirt inside the box section might have come from an archeological dig.
Love the maintenance videos, all of them 👍👌👌 that’s what started me watching DPs videos, can tell a lot by the know how of ppl on there maintenance vids, but you make it look easy and do a stellar job my man! Keep up the good vids👌👌🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Mike should pay you by the pound of dirt you haul away with your clothes! 😁 Definitely need a marker board for chores for the shop: clean shop floor- Mr Pepsi! Clean equipment before it enters the shop- Dirt Perfect ......😛
Much better music than DP has and how is it that your spend all day climbing over, under and around and he spends 15 minutes in there and he is just as dirty? Awesome welds, you are a great friend to help him out!
I have a 2 axle trailer rust got too it ,, loaned it out .. came back on 1 axle and the other on top strapped down .. had to make new axle brackets weld them too the axles then bolt them back in ,,also back bumper is box tube tail lights are pocketed in the bumper also the ramps have a bracket on the bumper to rest on when in use ,, ugh just like you said boxed in tube full of rust ,,, could of used your help doing the axles not fun .. great video you did ,,
Tip for you if you clamp a piece of 1 inch angle iron to the job your burning lamp runs along it at the perfect height for the lamp and you cut in a nice perfect straight line and doesn’t look like you bit it off🤣
Oh come on now that’s a beginners trick lol 😆 no I agree with you filming I try not to block the view and and I try to move around so viewers get different views but yes off camera I heat and use flat stock or angle for a better cut thanks for watching Kevin 🤙🏻
Good video as always,, and I do agree that you are stronger than DP because when y'all were moving the travel lock support you picked it up by yourself and all DP did was hold onto one of the eye plates and kept it from leaning.
Aaron you've become TMIOTC. That's The Man Infront Of The Camera! Your cutting and welding, as far as a non-welder can tell, are excellent, except for that bit that DP must've snuck in and tried to do! LOL 8-)) If clean and even on the outside were all that counted in welding I'd know you were great. I have to depend on your self assessment for depth of penetration. You're an honest man though, so I expect to see that trailer have no problems for years!
Glad you are back! Now try to keep DP inline lol. Keep up the great work, also I have learned from watching you, and you explain where a person not knowing to understand what you do. Then showing how to do the cutting and welding.
Even though I fully agree with you about box beams .I did build a dump body and switch from C channel to box tube and welded all closed . The dirt sat on top the C and rotted it out . My plan is to make threaded plugs on each end of the box tube .Im thinking once a year I’ll pull the plugs and blow Fluid film or oil trough the tube . Being it’s a 6 wheeler there’s only 9 cross beams so I don’t think it will take long . So far there is no dirt stuck up there anymore . The oil plug part may or may not work .to early to tell . Hey keep up the great work .love you videos 👍👍
Yeah one thing I done on the channel is seal welded the top and did a 4 on 12 stitch on the bottom and sealed sides hoping like every oil change say can blow or was the top of the channel but I also like your idea a few small trailers I’ve done are box beams and we coated the insides thanks for watching 🤙🏻

Suprising Mike didnt hit the trailer with a hammer to scare the Sh#t out of you when your cutting... ALWAYS good for a giggle lmfao... keep you the good work guys
Aaron, you do the best you can with what youve got. Be proud of that buddy. I only wish I could do 10% of that stuff, and only 50% as well. Enjoy watching the work. Sort of makes sense...
Awesome work MBTS ! looking for the next one! did you edit it? that far better then before, way to go! and thanks logger wade for the intro, you couldn't dream of a better one! 😁😁
😂😂😂 I told wade when done I was using it 😂😂 but yep I’ve been editing everything on my own here lately part 2 I’m hoping to have done by next Friday if not sooner thanks for watching I appreciate it 🤙🏻
Glad to see you’re wearing ear plugs when cutting with the torch. Years ago I was cutting and a spark went into my ear. Hearing in that ear has never been the same. Wish I’d been more cautious.
a lot of work but it should be good for the rest of the time Mike owns it. Ive got some similar projects going on over here with a frame rail replacement on the autocar and maybe some lowboy work in the spring. good job but it sure isn't fun is it!
😂😂😂 I know it lol 😆 it was kind of my bad I didn’t know it was gonna be that bad and I was just ready to get it done big mistake on my half lol 😆 thanks for watching 🤙🏻
Do they make anything but a victor lol 😆 yeah that’s the only head I will buy is a victor and yes a long reach would have been awesome 😂 thanks for watching bob I appreciate it 🤙🏻
That plate with the gussets is cracking because the backing structure (the double box beams) was inadequate. The tail of that trailer needs some serious beefing up.
I know Mike probably said, just get her done! I painted a couple of dozers, I’m not an expert by any means! I pressure washed them and then did wet blasting. This worked out well because I didn’t have sand going all over and it prepared the surface for paint. Great video Aaron, I sure like seeing how a professional does it! Thank You!
I broke my arm 2 weeks ago.And I think seeing all you guys working and having a great time is the only thing that keeps me going. when I can’t go to work. Nice job as always. Stay safe.
Good vid man. Lots of work or needed love going in . Good thinking on sealing off the door u 2 get 2👍🏼👍🏼and a thataboy . I know the toons in them earbuds had to of been better then the few in this vid and that ant no joke 🤭🤭🤭😀😀😄🤙
Great vid love the shop wall keeping in the heat and the logger wade clip. For the next vid i would like to see something else besides that square stock holding the back of that trailer up it will probly never move but it might. i worry about stuff like that anyway keep the vids coming thanks.
