@@cravinginmyname5983 I don‘t know about twice the calorie but it’s way way more fun than swimming. when tired, just let go and let yourself float around the pool.
@@8vabc338 Who is bus and what does he having to do with this comment? Do you know that hating on people who really made something of their life doesn't make you less of a loser?
@@deb2583 thats not hate. relax my man. I am not a hater. not everyone who talks shit is a hater. Sometimes people just see shit and they call it shit.

I did this workout for the first time yesterday. They were by far, harder and more intense than anything I've done in the gym lately. Thanks for the help Bas! You're still the man!
Derek Sain this Vato is the man, water training ain’t no joke, and for someone with multiple injuries( like I can relate with) these low impact excersises are the shit
@@jonathanarteaga9971 was looking for someone who mentioned injuries, so I can see that it is going to be easier on joints than the gym, but does it give you the serious workout without really hurting injuries?, I got a screwed up knee and one shoulder that has an underdeveloped socket would I benefit then from this

closplayguy68 there are some old vids on youtube where he shows his stretching routine. They are all good stretches! (but the neck stretch isnt for beginners) Goodluck!
Sascha Marc Stankiewicz My attitude will not get me into trouble cos it's not bad. And what are you even talking abt? I called out someone who aggressively tells someone to go kill them self. Suddenly you butt in and comment on me for who knows what reason and by what logic. Take a good look at yourself and learn to see things sensibly and objectively.
As an Aquatic Fitness Instructor, I LOVE this video! Going to incorporate some of these ideas into my programming! People think Aquatic Fitness is just for "seniors". Thanks for helping to crash through the paradigm! #GetStrongerInTheWater
Hey Sherri, ya Mr. Rutten showed us some excellent exercises! You should also consider walking as you perform these movements for added resistance & challenge! See ya in the pool! B
Dude, why do you think surfers have the best bodies? All their muscles are being created in the right way! Not those fitness idiots who train wrong! Aqua fitness is awesome! Every kid on earth should be in a pool at least once a week!
I came across this video after working in the hydro pool on back fusion surgery for my L5S1 and it's magic. Thanks bossman you really nailed it. Feel great with a healthy diet, meal shake for breakfast and lunch, protein shake after 1 hour training and chicken breast and salad for dinner. So far down 6 kilos in 4 weeks and all that weight I put on being bed ridden has started to go and muscle is coming back.
Thank you for this workout... I have several chronic illnesses so I can’t do a lot of land exercises or cardio bc of bad joints, tachycardia, asthma, etc, but I did this workout while taking my time and only 1-2 rounds! I feel great and like I actually got a workout! I love this because I can work myself up to the full level over time. Thank you 😊
Bas, You are amazing. Not only are you my favourite MMA fighter of all time, you are clever, funny and a total 10000% badass in every single way. Thanks for being such an awesome guy and an inspiration to us all.
I used to practice my all kicks in the pool, specially spinning kicks and I love it . Now I am trying to fix my schedule to go to the pool again. thanks for this video.
After 23 years spec ops and 10 law enforcement, this is great stuff. Body just isn't handling gym or hitting the road anymore. This will get me back into my element with less strain on old best up joints. Awesome stuff, please keep sharing. Stay strong and God Bless.
Bas, I’ve been doing your routine now everyday for one month!!! OMG!! I’m 70y/o, and I haven’t felt this good in years!!! I’ve had both knees and one hip replaced… I’m now seriously training again, and this has made all the difference. I can’t thank you enough!
This is ingenious, truly inspiring to see perseverance like this thank you for sharing so much good with the world, for a man who has lived a life of violence, you truly are a role model for many.
Enjoyed this. I have a pool I can’t do laps in and this was great. I prefer going by reps and sets so I don’t have to worry about timers near the water. Please do more of these.
lk I always practice punching under water. all the different punches ( boxing). for the firsr half I just count sets and for the second half I use the pools minute clock to go as fast as I cab. I sqear id live in the water if I could. such a great low resistance exercise.
Years passed and after a minor injury at the right arm and shoulder, I used those exercises and did get so much better. I used to live near the beach, so every morning for about one month I did them in the water. Absolutely recommended. Now I'm back in the city and I swear I miss training in the water... it really feels good for the joints.
Hey Bas, I'd love to see a video on what you would typically eat in a day, how many calories, what kinds of food to look for etc. I would also be curious to see what you were eating back in your prime. Best wishes from Canada!
I've been doing this for years, I just happened to look it up 'cause I didn't know if it was actually a thing. I didn't even think about using the swim gloves. Cool.
Sensei you just saved me with that video. I got a personal training in the water tomorroww and I really did not know what exercises to pick and how to do them to help my customer. Until I saw this video. Thank you sensei.
I have been a police officer for many years. Needing to get back to a good cardio workout and I’m done with ripping weights. This looks like a great opportunity to use my pool and go for low impact. THANK YOU for the video !
Bas thank you. I might have avascular necrosis in my shoulder I’m going to use this to help me out. I can’t reverse or stop it but at least I can strengthen my muscles without loading them/damaging the bones
Hey Bas great video. In terms of recommendations I suggest some basics drills, common beginner mma mistakes, mma training schedules, you could do fight analysis or even some good fight/life stories. With all your knowledge and experience there are so many options. Best of luck with the channel my man;)
Self defense under water. Like if you get in to a fight and end up in a pool and need to get the person of and get out safely and whit the other person alive but not able to hurt you. Test a persons lungs by letting them use the O2 trainer for a month and then stay under water, (before and after test). Thank you for all your information and knowledge you channel.
so wiki says that Bas Rutten tore his bicep, injured his neck, and blew his knee while training in 1999 and that's what caused him to retire from mma, i don't think it all happened at once, but it happened to me personally that once I strained my calf, I started having knee problems and had a microtear in my meniscus, and I'm a nobody, so I can imagine the amount of pressure Bas is under to fight and the desire to train hard must have motivated him to push through all that pain and thats what caused the injury
This is very cool. I remember bringing home old UFC competitions on VHS and seeing Bas in his prime. I think he's well-liked because he's not only a serious competitor, but he's been very professional about it. He seems like a genuinely good guy. Now that he has exited his physical prime (like we all do) he's still somehow able to maintain a ridiculous physique. This gives hope to those who are no longer in their youth.
I just started teaching water bootcamp and water aerobics classes. Some of the older students are getting sick of the same exercises and I am looking for new moves that won’t hurt all of their bad joints and aches. Also, this video is great for my boot camp class. I will just have to rewatch it over and over to remember them all.
I weigh 296.6 as of right now... I’m gonna try this every day for a month and I’ll let you guys know how much weight I’ve lost Bc this looks intense 💪🏽🤙🏽 Edit: you guys can drop your instas and I’ll dm you my progress for proof
Thanks so much for this video Bas. Its helped me a TON. I had knee surgery and needed a good full body workout with less stress on my joints and body. I've been doing this workout for a month plus and it's been very helpful. I actually have implemented a few more workouts. Now I hit the pool 2-3 times a week and lift the rest. It's a perfect mixture giving your body a rest cause the pool is a relief and helps with your breathing and concentration. When in the gym sometimes you tend to loose focus and look around and or get on your phone. When in pool it's straight workout and focus.. I highly advise it. You're a BOSS and LEGEND. Thank you brother!!!
Ah, yes, the old bear measure of confidence. You start with being able to sucker punch a sloth, then a panda, then a koala, from there you move to grizzlies, then brown bears, then black bears. The advanced level is the polar bear, and for those truly gifted there is the fabled Australian drop bear. I see you are well on your way up the ladder of bear confidence!
Your time stamps off if your suggesting one arm looks like Popeye on roids whilst the other looks like a twelve year old kid because of excessive wanking. I use my smarts and use both hands😉
Bas, I've always liked working out in water. It's the perfect resistance proportion to personal capability & builds dense, hard muscle tissue. I stopped smoking & lost 95 lbs via your 02 trainer & an intense water workout much like this one. Let me tell.you after smoking for 15 years that 02 trainer almost killed me haha. You're still the greatest, Mr. Rutten, thanks so much.
Working out in the water is INSANE!!! I've been training Rugby underwater for a year, and I couldn't make it due the biggest effort it takes to swim, hold your breath under water for periods of 30 seconds to 1 minute, but I was grateful about how much I could learn!
El guapo is still the man. I'd love to come and train at your gym, but I'm in Australia. Did boxing and han moo do, now been training muay thai for few years. Our gym has rivarly with John Wayne Parr's.
I have used these for a water workout with active older adults, at a community center, before watching the video. I have implemented using a push kick motion from the wall to help with balance and stability. Thank you!
Charlie Murphy, Bas looks bigger and more shredded there than he ever did in his prime when fighting, now he's 50 and has injuries and looks better. That's nothing against Bas btw, he never cheated when he competed and he's always been outspoken about steroid use but now he's getting on a bit and he's trying to rehabilitate himself after surgery and arthritis then good for him for using, if it helps him in any way then there's nothing wrong with it. Whatever reason he has to keep it to himself is his business though, whether it's his pride or he doesn't want to condone using it as people abuse it, whatever the case may be it's his own right, these exercises he's sharing are still excellent, his advice is still spot on, I've always looked at Bas as a pioneer, he's always innovating and it's great to see and learn from, so even if you think trt is a bad thing, you shouldn't let that change your opinion of the validity of what he's teaching.
Bas: that curl you're doing across the front of your body for the side of the arm (Brachialis muscle), you can do it holding the dumbbell-like resistance with a supinated grip (palm facing the floor) for better emphasis on that muscle.
