Those PNW boots have way more excess leather to fold over, this way on those would be overkill, for me at least. But with such little room on these I think this makes more sense.

I just got the regular model. My go to daily shoes are all various brands of barefoot shoes, but I wanted something more robust for work so that I wouldn't wreck my feet using shovels and stepping around building sites. While it does still feel weird to me to be back in conventional shoes, I can tell you these aren't overly bulky or clunky, and I think the break in period will be swift. You get much more ground feel than something like a hefty redwing smokejumper boot but less groundfeel than all but the thickest barefoot boots. Maybe tied with a lems outlander for ground feel.
