as a cis woman, i feel 10000000% more violated by having to "prove I'm a woman" to use a restroom than I do when a trans woman uses the same bathroom as me. why do people think that other women using a stall affects them so much??????? like bruh just piss and get out of there, it's not that deep

Tbh when it’s a single stall bathroom like that I’ll just use whichever is available. I’ve used a single stall men’s restroom on multiple occasions if the women’s is already in use. I’d probably just use the men’s bathroom in this scenario instead of having to ask for a key.

When your little girl likes monster trucks and you have to force (force being the key word here) her to wear dresses and do girly things. The argument isn't that we think it's transphobic, the argument is that it's ABUSIVE! The only time it's okay to "force" your kid to do anything, is when it's for their well being and to keep them safe. If you're doing it just because you "don't want them to turn gay" or "it's not proper for a young lady to act like that" etc. it's abusive and manipulative and toxic. That's the argument!
@greysonholtz
@greysonholtz 2 года назад
its so sad, grown women force their children to wear dresses because they're insecure about their kids gender. wtf it doesn't mean they're trans if they don't like dresses. the majority of my female identifying friends hate wearing dresses and the one friend I have that is questioning their gender likes dresses. the way someone dresses doesn't mean shit relating to their gender identity!

it's not even transphobic its just deeply sexist " you are a girl so you must wear dresses". I didn't realise I wanted to be a boy as a kid even tho the signs were so clearly there bc i didn't have massive social distinctions between boys and girls growing up, p.e was mixed and i played for the boys team in school tournaments and even the local boys football club. when i decided i hated pink and dresses my parents were like lol okay you'll grow out of it and just left me to wear what i want, a lot of my clothes were my brothers clothes that he grew out of :) .
@ilikedarknes3351
@ilikedarknes3351 2 года назад
If I have a kid when I'm older I am not going to make them wear things they don't want to wear just because it's the gender norm like if I have a girl I'm not going to go out of my way to get more dresses for her and if I have a boy I'm not going to go out of my way to get him a little suit but I'm also not going to go out of my way to buy them clothes that are typically worn by the opposite gender if I see something cute I'm going to get it and not really care if its not meant for my child's gender. Also with that, it would just be when they are too young to care what they wear when they're old enough to choose what they want to wear if my son wants to wear a dress then I'll buy him a dress its really not that hard to let your kid wear the clothes they want to wear

Noah taking about having transphobic parents really makes me feel a lot better about my situation. I’ve have to deal with transphobic parents for the last three years, I’ve come out four times and each time was dismissed. I’ve started recently socially transitioning, and I’ve found that my friends are living examples that my parents *should* be more accepting. I’ve asked them to call me by my chosen name and pronouns and was turned down, I asked to buy a binder and was told that it was, “a big commitment that we’re not ready to make” not a commitment for me. For them. I also bought the binders with my own money and they were stolen by my parents. I struggle with coming to terms with the fact that they could be better and that they should be better. I feel like they aren’t bad parents, but if it were someone else’s situation, I would say they were. Thank you Noah, you saying that transphobic parents are sh*tty means more than you know.

Not once have they even tried to gender me correctly, use my name, or let me dress fem. I had to do all of that in secret. And yet they still claim to "support" me, even tho all they did was try to talk me out of being trans and misgender and deadname me daily. Folks arguing against a point that wasn’t actually made by the opposing group is called a “Straw Man Argument.” So like saying that trans people are saying cis people can’t raise their children as their AGAB, I’ve never heard that come from a trans person and never thought that myself. Something I do identify is looking back and wishing I had grown up with less strict gender stereotypes and had been able to dress the way I wanted, and done the things I wanted to do. Straw men arguments are designed to be weak because as the name would imply, they’re a lot easier to burn than any actual argument one is making.

Im cis, i have a baby who is afab, i use she/her pronouns for her (but if she realises others suit her better when she is older then absolutely i will use other ones). I dont dress her girly and have asked people to avoid dresses and pink because as soon as people hear you have a girl that is allllll they get her. Her clothes are very neutral, mainly from the boys section but some from the girls. I bought her one dress recently but i keep things like that to a minimum. Partly because i would hate for her to be trans and then hate that i dressed her all super girly, whereas if the clothes are a bit more neutral she wouldn't necessarily be as ashamed to show baby photos etc... but also because i dont want to put gender stereotypes on her. Like regardless of anything trans related, i don't want her thinking she has to play with "girls" toys and only wear pink dresses. That way, when she gets old enough to show a preference she hasnt been pre-programmed to like those things. And no doubt the world will try and put stereotypes on her, but i want to try and limit any that we put on her (nobody's perfect, we all live in this world after all). That's just my opinion on it and i dont look down on anyone who wants to dress their child more gendered (although you would be surprised how offended other mums are or they tell you, oh she will choose pink herself anyway!), like what you do is up to you. I didnt find out the sex and i remember a woman at my work saying if you have a boy, your partner can go take him to play sports.... i just said, oh he can take a girl too... 🙃 what person in this day and age thinks only boys like sports... its 2021.

@@smhmyhead9184 no but with clothing comes lots of expectations and I know if i had a boy i probably wouldnt put a dress on him for fear of backlash from people (although if he chose to then I absolutely would let him). So keeping clothes a bit more neutral just feels more comfortable to me than overly gendered. It's not just about clothing because as she understands more, it's about not overly reinforcing stereotypes. Clothes may not have a gender but in society they are treated like they do. Her grandma has already bought her a bright pink walker that is shaped like a pushchair with a doll in it but waited until her boy cousin was out of the room (3 weeks between them) to tell me it was for my child. Even though i have explained not wanting to overly gender her with clothes and toys.. Also it feels like colour coding my child for her genitals which to me feels a bit icky. My parents once called me 'princess' in an argument, of which, I've been out as non-binary for more than a year, and man, did that make me feel hurt. The thing is, it’s not just transphobia, it’s also sexist because if we strip away some of the layers the core premise is that all afab people are weak and delicate and need protecting and all amab people are beasts whose sole motive in life is sex. Like I can understand not wanting people to get assaulted, but maybe then we should teach cis men to not assault people, instead of assuming that is inevitable and forcing women to have to be afraid of men?? But also if not wanting people to get assaulted is their supposed premise, then they should want trans women to be protected most of all since they are statistically the most likely to be assaulted.

If they were seriously so worried about people getting attacked in restrooms maybe they should plan the spaces better. Like offer gender-neutral single toilets that are not hidden in some shady back corridor of a shopping center like too many public restrooms at the moment. But of course they won't, because they're not really worried about women getting attacked, but of trans people being accepted as humans!

LOL, I love how Terfs and Transphobes think that simply liking (gender associated product) means that is the only sign that someone is trans. Being a demiguy is really complicated to explain and it only complicates my life. But I know deep down that I'm a masculine person. I don't like she/her pronouns. It feels wrong to be referred to as female. I know I won't be happy pretending I'm a woman because I'm not a woman. I have semi transphobic parents as a trans man, they say I can’t go on T until I become 18 they also say I can’t even use hormone blockers they said I can’t cut my hair too short and the worst part is my mom is a literal mental heath councilor.

Kinda a lil story of my life: I'm an afab enby and usually wear more feminine clothes, but this day I was wearing jeans and a hoodie. I was on the bus and had my headphones in, and the lady that asked for the ticked called me a guy, how I love wearing a mask

ppl be like "children aren't allowed to make any lifelong permanent decisions" then tell 12 y/o kids to choose a carreer path. like, when I was 16 I still didn't have an idea what I wanted to work as, but I sure knew whether or not I was comfortable with the pronouns people addressed me with/the way I looked etc.

Do those washrooms not lock from the inside? They either added a needless hurdle for women to be judged or they expect men to be completely okay with people opening the door while they're going to the washroom and I'm not comfortable with either of those scenarios.

I was going through a really tough time 2 years ago where I was chain smoking, drinking constantly and just getting stoned everyday to escape my dysphoria and depression. My parents at the time who I was still living with didn’t know I was gender fluid were worried about me so they sat me down and tried speaking to me so I just told them, they refused to believe that I was gender fluid and kept saying I was always going to be their little girl. I continue to tell them I want to go by Noxx but they keep not listening

Look the person in the eye and say,"my name is (insert name here). My pronouns are (insert chosen pronouns here). I would like you to use my correct name and pronouns." Practice saying it alone. And lemme know if you need more help,ok?
