Just changed the original bulb with a LED one years ago and it’s worked perfectly ever since, now that was a cheap upgrade.

yeah that's the favourite on the scene just switch the bulb over, Even though this is another solution for changing the hole unit out, but the Red LED feature i think is useless.

You could get LED light much cheaper by change the original bulb with a PENOL 43MM LED 6000K ULW X1 - it's around £7. Anyway: thanks for sharing your solutions with us!

I am too tight ass Defender owner so I just got cheap replacement ebay LED bulb witch I got for other car bit too long but I bent contacts to fit. Brighter than original and kept the original look. Thanks for the video tho-!

Hi fitted the mud UK light myself great upgrade , I also have the molle pouches from mud uk also very good for storage

My 90’s tad older than your Defender and cabin light is on a rocker switch with the dash backlight so is never used as it’s one or other on and a barely lit speedo is priority over a dimly lit cabin 😁

I had one of these in my 300 TDi, and i found the red LED feature useless. Nice and bright as you stated, but not worth it for having a useless Red LED. I never bothered changing out the unit for one on TD5.
