I dunno whats the name of the Driller actually, so let's call it Driller... Movie info: www.imdb.com/title/tt1399103/ Credits goes to: DreamWorks, Paramount Pictures, Hasbro. Monetized by owner/s. #KimerLorens #Kimer #Lorens
I like how Shockwave actually says "Optimus," when he reveals himself; while Prime, being the blood-thirsty war-criminal that he is, just snarls back at him
In the tie in comics it is revealed prior to this encounter shockwave killed a bunch of autobots (in the nest hanger i think) And Optimus gave him such a beating he had to get a new body (the one you see in the movie)
Theres a reason for that transformers 3 were supposed to be the last movie but once it made over a billion dollars they made a fourth and fifth installment
@@KoredIDNo, it’s more time than anything. Modern movies have bigger budgets than this, yet the CGI artists don’t have enough time to work on the VFX to make them look good. Reshoots also make this worse.
@@KoredID Look at the budgets of modern films, they’re just more expensive. They’re often inflated with how big their budgets are (look at the Little Mermaid movie).
Fun Fact: Shockwave was supposed to be the main antagonist of this movie. He was going to still be a scientist and would be responsible for creating the giant worm and other Frankenstein-like abominations, and he would mostly have his "pets" doing the fighting but he was entirely capable of fighting by himself when needed. Sadly, paramount interfered and kept changing the script, so Shockwave became a throwaway Decepticon with barely any screen time
The sheer destructive capacity of this worm is insane. It's legitimately the most terrifying in this series apart from the wired suction bear thingy....(don't know what it is called)
Shockwave was the main attraction for this movie back in 2011. It's a shame that he only had one line and died a horrible death, but I appreciate that they at least made sure every scene with him was cool
He had a few more lines actually. “Driller bot is thirsty!” “Let the bloodbath... commence!” “How?!” But yes, you’re right. Too bad he had almost two minutes of screen time and was severely underutilized. Oh well...
The cool thing about Shockwave was his lore where it said "He chose the decepticons because he believed it was the right strategic way in terms of chances to win the war of cybertron"
Damn, if you think about it, the scene where the desk is falling from the building 4:15, as it falls past shock wave it had to be falling at ridiculous speed and he was able to turn and focus on it before it hit the ground. Dude had crazy reaction time
Love the detail that the driller is supporting itself on the building after it knocks it down by hanging it's head/mouth piece beneath and using the smaller tendrils to anchor it into the structure, while its main bulk remains safely on the lower half or embedded in the top.
When you really think about it, Shockwave's driller is like one of the most overpowered weapons in this entire franchise. They made it look hella weak in this film, but could you imagine having to fight something that can dig into the ground of that size? ON THE GROUND? No way.
@@kensmilepachi3313 But good luck landing a shot on it to begin with. Especially if it lurks underground and Shockwave acts as a spotter above ground, ordering it to strike the cannon from below.
4:47 I cant be the only one that thinks the noise the driller made before it went into the building was probably the coolest noise ive ever heard come out of any transformer
@@WilliamFiorentiniyes it was the building was a small sculpture where the building falling and crashing was cgi but the far shot was from a far shot of the replica
I love how Optimus is able to single handedly cut through entire armies of Decepticons but gets completely incapacitated by a lucky shot and tripping into some cables.
I always wished he spoke more, but his almost mute tone and the amount of damage he did with his Driller, was just amazing, and i genuinely feel like without him, DOTM would not have been as great as it is.
2:00 best Shockwave moment imo other than "driller beast is thirsty" and the bit where he commands it to destroy the building that sam and them where in. I just wish we could've seen him use that cannon more and even kill a few autobots.
I’ll always love the first 3 Transformers movies. Ever since 4 everything went to shit. But these are just so attractive to the eye. Especially as a kid, you have Transformers toys and then you see these live action fight scenes. It was like a dream come true.
You gotta be fucking stupid to believe everything went to shit at 4. They're all visually stunning but 1-2-3 are horribly bad, 4 is Bad but at least it has coherent dialogue, and 5 is as Bad as 1-2-3
Agreed. With Driller fucking up the roads and underground pipe lines; along with the electricity and gas lines. It would have taken a complete remodel of the city taking at least 5 decades at a rushed schedule to restore it back to normal.
Best and most badass transformer design, yet gets killed with 1 punch by optimus, sad they didn't make him put up s good fight when he was supposed to be super strong
I only just realized this, the only reason shockwave even bothered telling the worm to attack the building sam was in was because of the soldier that fell off at 4:12, you can even see shockwave look in the direction where this guy wouldve landed.
Shockwave became a very formidable enemy in the live-action version. In fact, from the anime version of the chest, it is called "Bakunyuu staff officer" on the Internet. I like both forms because he's probably the most loyal vassal in the Transformers series.
Say what you want, but i fucking love the design of Shockwave and the Driller design was just okay! I get that Shockwave is a transformer, but i am happy with the idea, that instead of him turning into a vehicle, he uses a giant mechanical murder worm as a vehicle, it is unique ( at least i haven't seen this being done in any other transformers media, that i have come across ), badass and in short, they perfectly complement each other!
Honestly, Shockwave’s design was cool as fuck. It was recognizably him without being completely standard, and it was damn terrifying. And lets be real. Taming a giant worm for no reason other than he could? That’s pure shockwave. I just wish he’d been around more. :c
I mean, if transformers are like humans and driller is an animal, does a human really have a chance against a tiger or a bear? Not likely.... it makes sense that there would be 'animals' that are way stronger than transformers.
Rewatching this movie last summer with my brother made me realize how amazing the Transformers movies are, despite what the internet says. This scene was well done.
5:01 Why the hell are civilians up there??!! The city is in the middle of a robotic apocalypse, half of the building is about to fall...but these people went to the office anyway...
That's an element I liked about this movie: between the Decepticon fighter taking out fleeing humans when the Autobots reveal themselves, to the ppl running from the crashing fighter after Laserbeak gets sucked into the engine, to the ppl in this skyscraper, we keep seeing that civilians r still trapped in downtown occupied Chicago. Itd make sense since it would take days to properly evacuate a city that big while the Decepticons took it in what looked like a matter of hours/a single night, therefore thered still b ppl trapped in the occupied city
Man man back 💪💪💪💪💪💪😅💪😅💪😅😅😅😅😅💪 your email and any files transmitted with this one was there and then we could have done ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅ the first time I was just thinking about how the hell out of town this coming weekend and will have to go back to
Yea i came because of the destroyer to 😂, it's just so much destruction if A Giant metal worm became real in irl. Especially if that Giant mechanical worm is really hard asf that can't be even cut down, immunity to water to and the last one immunity to EMP.
He may not have been done justice in this movie but in the movie comics he was quite ruthless. He’s actually the main reason why a lot of autobots you saw before weren’t in this movie
@@rocketmoodergaming5147 Transformers generation 1, the original incarnation of the Transformers back in the 1980s. I dunno why you couldn't just GOOGLE that, but hey, now you're a bit more informed.
