Hey everyone!! Been seeing lots of comments about insulation & also the hole in the roof.. just thought I’d come on here and clear that up! Firstly the hole in the roof.. so that hole is no more.. I should have addressed it in the video but when the shed was built there was no shingles but the completed shed had shingles on it which eliminated the hole! So no water leaking in for this shed :) and for the insulation while making this shed we decided it would be a 1 season maybe two season room. We decided on this mainly because no plug in heater would be able to heat it enough in the long winters, so we just thought we would go without insulation to cut down the work time since we knew it wouldn’t be used in the cold months! And lastly the BUGS GETTIN in, we got a screen door since filming this which has eliminated the bug problem aswell! Hope that clears some stuff up! Thanks for the concern!
I think the shed was beautiful and I adore your channel, and I understand that not everything can be conveyed in a thirty minute video, you do you, mia! ♥️
I was thinking the same thing. So you’re going to get something to transform into something else, why not get the something else? However If she did that we wouldn’t have a cool video.
That mini room is actually a very good place for some privacy and peace. It can be like a secret shed behind your home and you can call your best friends for sleepovers! You can also write in your diary, do some simple but fun things in there, and even invite your pets to hang out with you! 💖
It would have been great if you insulated the sides between the planking and boarded them up, then replaced the door with a sealed weatherproof door! Then it would keep the heat in and the bugs out! I think that place will be overrun with spiders and too cold to use if you don’t weatherproof and insulate! Maybe there can be a part two where you make it more useable and maybe add blackout blinds so if you slept over you wouldn’t get woken up as soon as the sun rises. I’d love to see a second part where you do all the finishing touches to make it liveable! Looks really great though, definitely sleepover worthy in warm weather
exactly what i was thinking. Cute but not practical and a lot of work for something not really usable. Shame that she wasted so much money without the suggestions you gave.
I love how your dad just got together all of his friends to help out with this project of yours. So cute. Especially when they're all standing around and building it. Such dad energy in that time lapse. Edit: This definitely wasn't meant to be taken the way some of the commenters did and to bash Mia. I personally love that she's mature enough to ask for help with her projects, and her dad seemed to be having the time of his life bragging about the shed in the first part of the video. I completely love and support Mia and her decisions, and wish I had the kind of close knit family she does. Take your negative comments somewhere else, please.
Not Wednesday i think you're looking too much into it tbh. mia is obviously pretty close to her parents and they love to participate in renos and makeovers. she was probably suggesting the idea to her parents and her dad offered to help.
@@Lindseyisloony that's exactly what I said. Plus she stole this idea from another lady who actually did all of the work AND Mia didn't even give that tick tock lady any credit Meanwhile she's posing for the camera in multiple shots while they're working. Poor dad 😔.
Glamorous Life Movie inc can y’all bring this negative energy elsewhere?? First of all, Mia has been making renovation videos for months and months now, it’s nothing new from her. Second, you can clearly see in this video that she got the idea from a tiktok video, she mentioned it and she said it clearly which means she had no idea about that lady in the first place. She gave rights to the person who she saw doing it. If you look through tiktok there tons and tons of videos of people renovating/constructing sheds, they have been going around for months. So stop saying she stole ideas so lightly since it has been a thing for a while. Renovating a shed it’s not stealing an idea 🤦🏻♀️ and so what’s wrong with her having some help from her own family?? Mia’s family has always been activily partecipating in her reno’s video, it’s not only this one. Her father obviously is more knowledgeable about certain stuff and he seems pretty cool in partecipating in these videos. Mia still bought everything with her own money, proceded in having the idea and she decided how to style it and everything which is actually her forte. Just because her father partecipated in it, doesn’t mean she didn’t do shit. Also, it’s a 30 minutes video of a process that took months. You have no idea of how much she actually partecipated in certain scenes because obviously she didn’t film the whole process! She just saw us the main points including some fun scenes that are totally mia’s style. Y’all always have to nitpick into everything, bring this negative energy somewhere. She is giving us fun content, it doesn’t have to be that serious 🤦🏻♀️
If that shed had a bathroom, a hot plate & a microwave you could rent that out as a tiny house! Mia, you have really good tastes with home decor! Also, I love how the whole family gets involved and that you work too, not like other RU-vidrs that would just hire someone! Good job!
Mailea Willden She did the decorating, not her father. What her father did would be considered the contracting work, what she did is interior design and she could definitely make that a career.
It turned out gorgeous, I think you all did such an amazing job on transforming this shed! The only thing I would’ve done differently is the outside color. I honestly think a blue (would match the nautical theme!) or a cute red with the white accents would’ve been more beautiful although the dark brown beams on the inside are perfect. Maybe you can decorate the other wall a little more! With the other paining? Both are so pretty. I do wonder: why did you place the shed next to the house as opposed to out in the garden somewhere with a nice path leading up to it? 😊
I love that your dad looked sooooo into this project! He was clearly enjoying it! So good to see Daddy Maples bonding with you through the whole video. I haven't been with my dad since I was 12... (Now I'm 27) So a good dad/daughter relationship always gets me emotional.
Kanda Reed you should check out the channel Mr Kate! They’ve down a few nurseries and they turned out amazing. Like the Colleen ballinger nursery and their own
You have amazing parents who are so supportive and trust you with all your experiments. They need a big shout out as well as applaud for being so amazing👏🏻👏🏻
A few tips from a contractor: you can get primer tinted to be close to the color you are painting which is especially important with dark colors, insulating is much easier than it seems and would make the shed more even in temperature year round, I would recommend putting siding on the outside otherwise that chipboard can rot easily, and also for other trying this, check with your city to see if you need a permit to build a shed on your property first! Looks great though!
This was mostly a RU-vid video project is my guess because that chipboard won’t be able to stand snow and rain for long. Good point about the permit, but this is true for everyone, not just the viewers right? Cool of you to give valid tips. Be safe, happy and free... ☺️.
@@graceeann cuz this is just a click bait video I don't think its useable without perfect weather but even with perfect weather the bugs are getting in through the door cracks
Mia, I just adore your mom's laughter, it's so cute, lot's of good energy and happiness, that's what I can feel. I adore your decorations and house decors, I will get inspired by your ideas. Hugs XOXO
Lela Noel I don’t see how it was rude? She was complimenting Mia’s interior designing skills by saying she has enough potential to have made this a career
Super cool project! I love your choice in the colours, the theme for the furniture! Great look, super affordable and a great value added to the house! Great job :)
Its was probably around 8-13 degrees C (idk Fahrenheit)and i know that since there was snow on the ground it was probs mid February and in canada (she lives in toronto, or ottowa i think?) in mid february the sun isn't that strong, so its warm but not super warm, ya know?
@@amygerling2507 i believe she lives in Alberta actually, but considering how much snow ab gets and how melted it was, i wouldnt be surprised if it was 10-15 °
Mia’s Dad: Calls in friends to help with the shed. Me: Awwww Mia’s Dad has more friends than me! Edit: OMG THANK YOU FOR 452 LIKES THIS IS THE MOST I HAVE EVER GOTTEN!!!!! Edit 2: Thank you for 736 likes. The most I have ever got
If you think about it. Its nasty because what if the cats get bugs in there. If its a guest room why would you want to wake up with a nasty, dirty, bug infested animal on you.
Lovely decorating job! 💖 . Living in central Texas, I had a hard time appreciating your family's hard work! No insulation/heating/air conditioning was hard to comprehend. Your mom's laugh is so engaging. You are SUPER lucky to have such great parents.
I know I’m late to watching this I found you recently but your family is so genuine and kind. Your moms laughter shows how much fun y’all really have with one another and it’s great to see you’re family oriented person because family is all you have 🖤
Guys! It's too cold! It would be way too expensive and dangerous to heat the shed in our winters even if there was insulation. It just wouldn't work. She says multiple times it's a summer shed.
Love this! And love how supportive and excited your parents are to help you! My parents are so similar so I know how lucky you are, love ALL of this! So amazing!
Ok I find it amazing how you are like this beauty guru, but you're also so into renovations and like hands on, construction-y things like are you're a such a boss for it!!
This turned out really NICE! 😃 I would like maybe a little bigger shed and make it a off grid guest house. 🏠 It would be more work as I would insulate the inside and water proof the outside with some type of water sealant. Watching this 👀 has given me so many ideas. 💡 GREAT job you guys. 👍
This looks amazing! However.. right away I was wondering why there was no insulation put in since you live in a cold climate. I don't think a heater would be enough to keep someone warm, especially overnight. Plus the cracks in the ceiling/walls... if the mosquitos can get in, rain is going to get in and ruin the furniture and the lights. But.. I love these renovation videos and I cant wait to see more. I hope one day you open up your own company because I would love for you to come decorate my apartment/house 💕
Really beautiful. I really love the color combination you selected. I wouldn’t use it as a guest room because i would want my guests to have access to a restroom in the middle of the night. But, you gave me a great idea for my home office. 👍 really lovely.
What an amazing channel I happened to stumble upon! You’re amazing and the fact you’re bringing your dad to go with you is so wholesome! I’m hoping to do a similar project for a homestead for my family. Definitely hitting the subscribe button! (Only 5 minutes in)
