I’m going admit (and I hope this doesn’t get me in trouble) I’m a 71 year old gay man I have really struggled with understanding the trans experience and issues which is why I’m trying to educate myself through watching videos like yours. The way you describe how you have felt about your body and living in your skin has moved me to tears. I’m sorry if that sounds patronising - it’s not meant to be. But what you’re prepared to go through as a young person to settle inside yourself is incredible and overwhelming. There’s a ton of things I know I’ll never “get” but that’s much less important than knowing that your pain will diminish and that you will grow and thrive. Hearing you talk so personally about your life takes incredible guts. You’re a remarkable person and I wish you only love and good things as you develop into who you need to be. I agree. I am asking "why would anyone want to go through this?" But I understand we all have different needs and wants and so I wish this person well and hope they're happy in their transition truly
Do you know many regret changing and want to go back to who they really are. Social media has pushed this forward. I know there are people born both sexes. I hope you find yourself.
@@kathymorris4553the regret rates for trans surgeries are of the lowest on the planet for surgeries. We’ve been around all along. One of my grown kids is in the other room as I type this. I conceived him with his dad before I had a vaginoplasty. His dad gave birth to him almost 30 years ago. Just as gays were accepted people blamed television for the rise in openly gay people’s,especially teens. The internet helped trans people be less isolated and educated. Much like this OP, I am a 66 year-old gay man and have had a hard time understanding trans, although I have to admit that FTM trans guys are some of the most handsome, masculine guys I have ever seen. But, the OP said everything I feel, but in such an eloquent way. Thank you for being able to beautifully word what my own feelings have been. Much love to the OP, and certainly to you, Liam. I’m Australian and was raised as a Baptist but our Baptist church is nothing like the Southern US Baptist church. We are very similar to Presbyterian, Methodist and Uniting Churches here, nothing at all that is extreme. My son is gay but not trans, he was not brought up going to church as we were, and the whole family are now more spiritual than anything else and do not go to church. He always knew that he would be accepted by the family with who he was, and of course he was. He is the same kid that they have always loved, nothing will ever change that. I just wish for people to be happy in their own skin, we are all entitled to that in life, and the peace that must come after transitioning I cannot imagine. Amazing story and I know you’re still in the middle of it all. Hang in there and know that, at the end of the tunnel, you’ll see that light and you’ll get better and better. It’s all about patience and being mentally strong and running a marathon not a sprint. I’ll come back check on your journey but I wanted to thank you for sharing all of this with us. I cried for 3 days after my knee surgery because of how foreign everything felt. I thought it was going to be like that forever. No one prepared me for the feelings of doubt and loss that would happen after a surgery I so desperately wanted. My old knee was trash - this was going to improve the rest of my life. Why was I sad? It was such an intense recovery. I hope your mental health journey turns a corner as mine did. Once I was allowed more PT I finally could feel like I was back on track. All the best, Liam. You do mourn a little bit. Had a double mastectomy and failed reconstruction, and it was a process. I'm glad to not have cancer anymore and if that is the worst thing that came of it I'm grateful. Now... It wasn't that way in the beginning?

Your mother is amazing! She clearly is your rock and strength. It is always ok to show your emotions in all of this. You are a strong man; understandably, having to rely on others for the most basic human needs is an emotional experience.

You my friend are what I call the geniune article, Im gay myself so I always emphasise with anyone who is on a journey to be their authentic selves! When I say genuine article, I mean you are taking the final step on the transition journey to manhood....congratulations and I hope its all gone well and that the result makes you happy. It also means you can move onto the next step....just living life as a guy. Theres a few Trans people who really seem to be either lost, confused or just grifting YT for monetisation....we know who we mean right? I hope all works out really well for you.I feel for all your surgeries - I am in the process of healing not as extensive as you. I had a 6 hour surgery and it will be 3 months of healing and then looking at another major surgery. I hope your healing goes really well. Pain and waiting etc. just really seems like a long recovery. So far you are looking good and so I hope the rest really makes your life the best it can be.

It’s a lot, I can imagine. I’ve had multiple knee replacements and a back surgery, all rather debilitating and painful. The suckiness can be overwhelming!!! Please get through one day at time. You will continue to feel a little better each day.

By the time I am writing, you’ve already had your surgery. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am a cis woman. When I was a small child, I knew I was supposed to be a boy. I asked my mum to have my hair cut boy short, and I wore boy-oriented clothes. This was decades ago. I changed my name to Christopher and my family and friends called me that, for three years. At some point, I was told that there is no way for am to be a boy, and I was forced to live as a girl. It’s a long, long story. I did get married, had four children, yet always was considered to “tomboy.” I did have body modification, though. I was a normal-sized, thin woman, and I always HATED having big (normal sized) breasts. After I was finished having children, and nursing then was very difficult, I had breast reduction. I wanted to be totally flat, but the surgeon was able to take me down to an A-cup, and I am less uncomfortable, but I still want further reduction. I’ll have that done when I can afford it. Raising children through university is expensive, and that is most important. Because you were born decades after I, you get to live the dream that I was not. I am fortunate that I have children. For that, I am happy. I just found your channel and going to marathon watch, and celebrate you!
Bless you from Australia. Major Surgery of any kind is hard both physically & emotionally. Just try to keep your thoughts on the end plan it will be worth it eventually. If you have a Misery Moment let it happen short term & then set a time for Exit. One minute or day at a time sounds trite but its reality short term.
