Currently live in California and absolutely love it here. It is unfortunate that Washington, Oregon & California aren't part of the nurse compact. All require getting your license individually from each state. But, the pay here in California is amazing. Does take a while to get a CA license though, their approval time is lengthy. One thing I like to remind fellow nurses about with CA is their overtime laws. From 0 to 8 hours in a day is regular base pay, from 8 to 12 hours in a day is overtime or time and a half, but 12 + hours in a day is double time. They ALWAYS need people to work over or pick up too. But if you're looking for a fun work / vacation travel job that pays well, the Oregon coast would be a great choice. Highly recommend driving highway 101 along the Oregon coast, it's awesome. There's the Out-n-About treehouse tree resort near Cave Junction. But if inland, there's the trail of 10 waterfalls that's also worth checking out. VT247
I found your channel because I’m interested in traveling next year. I’m a stepdown nurse so hopefully there are plenty of opportunities!!! Thanks for all of this good information! Will continue to tune in! New subscriber!
I'm looking to take a travel contract at 115/hr plus call and possibilities for extra shift. It looks like it could be $5k+/ week. This seems pretty good yah? It's a cath lab specialty position
Yeah but I've noticed specialties have seasons and in a few months a different one will be the highest paid ones. I like the city b/c I have friends here. Fun place lots of bars/restaurants. I liked my job but housing is expensive and I didn't like that my rates got cut mid contract.
Actually experienced the other way. Lived I'm NY, worked South Dakota. NY taxed me. Another travel friend lived in Iowa and worked in SD. Iowa taxed them.
No one knows what the future holds in nursing/healthcare unfortunately. Don’t get into it for the money or you will be miserable bc it’s a toxic field where hospitals treat you like garbage.
Do they have crash pad for travel nerves like they do fly the tenants if they don't stay in the area And they are based in a different state To be a travel Nurse ?
