From my understanding constables basically work the court house, they also service different papers and warrants, also they can make traffic stops! I’m so confused! I’m still learning
That's what I gathered as well so why are they out on the roads in marked police cars enforcing traffic laws you would think that they would drive around in essentially like a mailman delivery vehicle serving process not a fully kitted out cop car ready to pursue high speed chases and what not I'm still trying to understand this myself
So to help clarify in most states the sheriff is responsible for jails, patrol, court security a legal processing. However Texas law is slightly different, older is you will like the east coast. A Constable is elected locally like a sheriff but they handle the courts and processing rather than the sheriff. Some counties the sheriff is also the elected Constable. Constable are just a small specialized police force. Like school district police officers, city parks police department. They have a unique roll but are still 100% police officers. Run a stop sign and there is no difference in their red/blue lights or the tickets they issue. They're just uniquely training in additional duties.
@@s3vensixtwo460 sorry but that's not sufficient unless it's clearly mandated in their charter or regulations or however their departments are governed. Now if they're lawfully and legally authorized to do these tasks so be it but I'm starting to have my suspicions and my last experience asking my city police department to provide me with the letter of the law for a specific procedural issue I was curious about fell on deaf and near confrontational ears so I highly doubt they're going to be clamoring to provide us the documentation framing their legal authorities
@@drwombat how is it "not sufficient"? Look in the Texas penal code under who are peace officers and prove us different. It depends on state. Stop talking like you know how each individual state runs their counties.
@@s3vensixtwo460In Pa they are not allowed to have red/blue lights and they mostly work out of small town or village courts. In most states the job of the constabulary is old written and was never changed to today’s standards, most are considered police offers but don’t have police training..
I do not understand or comprehend your spelling but what I can gather from what I am translating from your question is, yes. The Sheriff's control correctional facilities in most States in the Union, they both are peace officers.
I live in harris county. Constables take care of civil courts cases and all related. They also cover certain jurisdictions outside city limits. But most interesting of all , you see them in affluent neighborhoods as extra police in the area. I call them the police of the privilege.😂 true story
@@former-paconstablewiggs354Constables in Pa don’t have or is mandated to get act 120 certification but i see what you’re doing as far as following the old rules of the constabulary.
I was held on handcuffed by a constable claiming I had a warrant. After about 30 minutes in which my car almost got towed he released me saying I was clear. I told him had my car been towed he gonna payed for my towing and money lost for not being able to work. I told him he better call around to make sure I really have a warrant which turned out to be and old warrant which had not been cleared even though I already took care of it decades ago!!!
A constable came over and arrested my roommate for having a warrant they kept knocking and hiding out and wouldn’t leave and when I answered he forced his way inside even though he admitted to not having a search warrant. The constables in this video seem much nicer!
@@7356205 Just like any law enforcement officer they should gotten search warrant. If the u.s Marshall need a search warrant to search a house they need one to. It don't matter if they had arrest warrant , they still need a search warrant to enter
@@shortchange26An arrest warrant is a Body warrant unless they see that criminal entering or physical see that person then they can’t go in and search .
1.04 mins When he refers to courts, does he mean (UNLAWFUL ADMINISTRATIVE HEARINGS)? could that not be construed to be serving the people and prostituting there selfs out to a corporation ?
