So after the weekend bash the udr developed an understeering issue in one direction only! It also generated some immense heat on the axle shaft.. Today we strip the rear axle to try and find the source of the problem..
Quick Update: So The issue was in fact one of the Disc/Hex hubs had worn right on the very inside, this was allowing the pin to spin under load but hard to make it slip turning by hand, Kinda glad that it was definately a definitive failure, i have now placed an order from some alloy replacements all round..
plastic hubs and tiny pins what you find on 1/10 not up to the job on a 1/7 truck with all that power should have been made a lot bigger and made of metal traxxas you should be ashamed of yourselfs just looking at it you can see its not strong enough mine did that replaced all the parts did it again with in 10 mins of taking it out and melted the wheel utter shite for what they cost
Grease the rear differential. That solved my issues with the rear axle. Just goop it in there but only after you clean the grease from the factory that's in there! Clean with proper solvent. I use Lucas grease, comes in red & green. Both lubricate and protect very well.
+1 I use Red tacky from Lucas for all metal locked device (planetary, spindle, etc....). A real open diff, don't use this. Use a proper thick diff grease.
Come on bud!! Put some back into it tanner!!!! I finally picked my UDR up from victor today. First few minutes out I thought I was Ivan Stewart and one of the axles keep popping out now. I even have the metal hexes.
