This was a great find. Although it did not help me directly with my problem, I found you and I am grateful. I have already reached out to your team to narrow down my issue. Thank you very much in taking the time to do this.
Thanks legend. I had the 2nd case: not used treadmill for some time and also shifted from one room to another so per your guidance I unplugged the Data cable and replugged it again and it starts working. WOW. So simple, yet technical. You Saved my time and money. Hats off to you.
This clip helped me isolate the problem, that it wasn't the motor or the belt and maybe the control board. Another video about the blinking light on that board may assist in your diagnosis. That showed my board to be working too. When I pull off the black and red wires from the board and checked the motor with my drill battery, as Joe suggested here, the motor ran perfectly. When I reconnected the wires the whole Nordictract c850 s ran perfectly. Poor contact to the motor due to mild corrosion. Problem solved until next time. Thanks Joe.
Someone left there treadmill at my new house and I just want to thank you because I just needed to know where the power switch was to see if it worked and it does. So thank you!
Couldn’t figure out why my treadmill wasn’t working. I had given up - not very mechanically inclined. However, as a last resort I thought I’d check RU-vid. As soon as you mentioned recently moving your treadmill, it clicked. I found the Ethernet cable and realized I had bent one of the pins when I reconnected. A few adjustments with needle nose pliers, and I’m back in business. Thanks!
Very good video, very informative, especially the ways to check the motor status. I don't need to repair my treadmill now, however it's always good to get prepared. Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the great instructional video. This treadmill had just been moved. I checked the data cable and found that when I plugged it back together (multi pin connector), 2 of the pins were pushed part way out. I pushed them back in and the belt belt is turning. Thanks again.
thank you joe, the feed wasn't getting through to the top screen, took it apart and the wire had snap completely in half. was difficult to reconnect as wires were so tiny but with care n patients manage to strip them back enough to twist each colour together then using plenty black insulating tape to separate and make safe.... also wound some the tape around the rest the lead to hopefully strengthen it from future damage etc. I couldn't believe how dusty it was especially where the motor sits etc. all cleaned up and ha presto it's working again, many thanks joe for your video and help, son n wife happy again.
Very good video -- very well explained -- My old WESLO has not been used for a year or more, and not moved. When attempt to use it would not work. Too late now but tomorrow I will thanks to all your guidance check it out. If only many other repair videos were explained in the same direct manner of instructions and video. Thanks for taking the time and effort for making this video - even if my treadmill IS completely dead.
If you need any help diagnosing issues along the way, you can always give our company, Fitness Graveyard, a call at 563-949-0799. We have in house technicians that you can speak with. Thanks!
NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ru-vid.comUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(!!) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
Thank you very much Jo, can’t thank you enough, it’s was your very last closing remark- Power AND , the Safety Catch- The latter saved my Treadmill from being scrapped, God bless you.
I just talked to Drew at The Fitness Graveyard - VERY helpful in helping me narrow down my issue. Hopefully, I can 'adjust' my problem out, but if not, he told me exactly what is most likely my problem part and how to deal with it. I appreciate it - I'll report back when I figure it out.
This is great. My safety key was *only partly* plugged in. It wasn't obvious at first. All I had to do was plug it back in all the way and voilà, its working. Thanks!
Another repair down in the books. Thank you. I had a bad power wire to the panel, then found out one of the magnets in the motor came loose. Welp I cleaned and epoxied it back in. Now I got a $500 treadmill for $1.53 from the thrift store. Time to start running. 😁
Thanks for the video! My belt wasnt working but everything else did. It turned on and it inclined/declined just fine, but the belt didnt work. I checked the motor per your instruction by connecting it to a drill battery and the belt worked perfectly. I was thinking its was the data cable because the motherboard looks fine with no corrosion. After a thorough inspection of the data cord is found the the "spokes" on the male data cord was bent and not aligned so it wasnt plugging with the female part correctly. After straighting it out, it works! Thanks so much!!!!!
💯 thanks!! I learned how to test my drive motor. 18V cordless drill battery 🔋 worked! Control board is being fixed; wanted to confirm motor was good. 👍
Glad I found this video - we were given a Trojan 210 treadmill, the treadmill powers on - counts down and we get a L51 error. Checked the motor with a 12v battery and the motor is good. As mentioned before the console counts down, a 3rd light glows up - no click, error and the 3rd light dims again :( Will find out why by hook or by crook :)
I will echo the comments by @EricaChiarkas that you are a natural educator. So many presenters on RU-vid rush through their dialog, but you took your time like talking to a friend or neighbor across the way. I was able to solve a power issue with my old Triumph T400. Just taking the top cover off allowed me to see that the white power lead had disconnected from the circuit board. I had replaced the power cord a while back and didn't leave enough slack on the wires inside, so of course when I folded up the platform one day after use, the wire was pulled off. Thank you Treadmill Hero!
thank you so much . I have an old Image 10 that is 22 years and has been moved a few times but still working fine. I hadn't used it in a couple months though and when I went to start it it wouldn't start. Nothing. After watching your post when you mentioned that the key has to be in thats when I remembered. The key. Oh yeah. It would be good to mention the reset button early on too. I had tried that.
Great video. Very helpful. The mice got in to our treadmill and chewed the powercord, which I soldered back together. They had also nested on the pcb. Now the console powers up but the motor won’t turn. The mat is hard to turn which thanks to your explanation about the motor becoming a magnet tells me the motor is good but is shorted somewhere. Thanks for the video!
@@picsbyandrea No sorry i didn't. The frame got converted into a table for my screen printing press and the rest got thrown out (apart from the motor which may get used for a future project)
Wanted to thank you for your trouble shooting video. It was a move resulting in a disconnected data cable. If I am in need of any parts you will be the busy I call. I will refer your company to anyone I know who is having treadmill issues. Thank you again.
Hi Joe, I have a Technofit TR300i Treadmill. I live in the UK. Initially the treadmill was powered on, and there was a POP, which tripped the house breaker, then after the isolator was activated, I switched the treadmill back ON.......Although the power indicator switched (red) ON, nevertheless everything else was dead (the control panel still would NOT light up). I then removed the plastic base cover and found that the fuse (T 10A H250V) was blown, so I replaced it, and when I switched it back on, the panel now lit up !.....Unfortunately the motor did not turn and instead a fault code E3 is displayed, my next stage is to test my motor as you have described it here using DeWalt drill battery......and I will then let you know if the motor is OK. PS. The motor speed sensor is of the Optical type. (and not the magnetic one etc) However, if the motor is fine, then what would be the next step to go about fixing it ? Thanks SoL
Based on all that, I believe your motor control board popped and took out that fuse in the process. Check the motor to be sure but I think the motor controller is the issue
Having motor issue on PaceMaster as shown in video. Motor has power but not enough to move belt consistently with person walking/running. Will start out working fine then slowly come to a stop. Suggestions for what to troubleshoot?
Question Proform Crosswalk 380 I press start and it goes for about 1 second and turns off. It was working until one time I pulled the safety key by accident right after starting the walk workout. Have not recently moved the machine. control panel works. One thing there's a small black wire not connected to anything. This wire is right along side the main power cable that goes to the wall. What should I do?
I have a Temp Evolve treadmill, and while the motor still works, I have to put my foot on the belt and move it backwards to get it going. I wonder if lubricating the belt will fix this problem?, Or is there some other solution?
Thanks for the video! I'm trying to go through the troubleshooting steps you described. On my Landice treadmill, the plug from the panel to the motor actually has three prongs, red, white and black. When trying the paper clip trick, which 2 should I use? Also, I noticed when I looked at the panel with the power plugged in, all lights were green "except" where the motor was plugged in, which was orange when it was plugged in. Does that indicate the motor is the problem? Thanks!

Hey joe I have a question for you. Do the Circuit boards have to be exactly the same I cannot find the circuit board for my treadmill so I’m wondering will I be able to use any kind of circuitboard for the treadmill? If you could please get back to me would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Golds gym that starts but immediately stops. The panel stays on and the inclination works. But the drive motor starts for a second and then stops.
My treadmill stops when I step on it and throws a E2 code. Xterra trx3500. Any idea of what the problem is? as long as I'm not on it it runs fine at all speeds and all incline levels. Only when weight is applied is when it stops
I have not officially used your suggestions. But I would have to figure that if the motor smelled of smoke that we probably burnt the motor. and would you happen to have any links or recommendations where a guy could get a ProForm treadmill motor?
Sorry for the delayed response. Reach out to our company, Fitness Graveyard. They sell parts and could have what you're looking for. The phone number is 563-949-0799. Or the website is www.fitnessgraveyard.com. Thanks!
Any way to feed the upper console 12v to confirm it still powers on with the battery? To possibly further point to it being a cable or lower control board issue…
Thank you for taking the time to produce your excellent videos on maintaining a treadmill. I need your assistance. I have a Sole F80 and while I’m running (7MPH) or walking (4MPH) every now and then the treadmill will stop then speed up rapidly (Fast) and it will give me an Error Code 5 message on the screen. I’ve been thrown off the treadmill twice and I’m lucky it hasn’t caused me a serious injury. Do you have any idea what could be causing this happen? Thank you.
Like this very much. Alas it didn't cover our issue. We have a Golds Gym 450. Hadn't been used in awhile and my husband folded the deck up to make more room. I unfolded it and went to use it and it surges for a second and then stops. The screen goes blank and then after a second or two lights up showing all the screen data at once. If tried again . . . and again, it repeats it all. Any thoughts on this oddness?
That sounds like a motor controller. A very common issue with those ICON Fitness brands (Golds Gym being one of them), I don’t think the fact it was folded up has anything to do with it. If the motor makes a rapid jolt then stops when you hit start, it’s a failed relay switch within the motor control board. New board most likely needed. The “Fitness Graveyard.com” can help with that part I bet.
Hello Joe, I was about to give up trying to fix the incline setting which was stuck in number 10 nobody wanted to used it . Then You mention cables loose due to moving the unit from one area to another. To pleasant surprise I found a cable disconnected plug 🔌 it in and problem resolved. Thank you very much great video.
We went thru the whole procedure of removing the cover and testing everything. Come to find out it was the on/off switch on the case next to were the power line goes in was switched to off. I don't know how it could of been switched off during our walking.
Hey I have a question about a NordicTrack treadmill I have. A few weeks ago, the power switch began to shut off on its own at high speed like 11mph. Now it’s happening on lower speeds. The deck is oiled, and I tried a new control board so I’m not sure what could be wrong
Hello Joe, so my problem it starting out smoking kinda like a electrical smell so my son shut it off now my Son it's been maxing out at 10 so he has been putting a lot of work on the treadmill, I went on it to try it out and for a bit it was good then the smoke started coming back then immediately I heard and saw a couple of flashes then I turned the machine off I just seen this video and I tested the motor with the battery and it did go the clips where getting red hot but in the mean time the motor was going, any input that you might think could be? Thank you...
Hello, my proform 330i treadmill turns on without inserting the key and the stop button does not react and it does not turn off when I remove the key, what do you recommend?

I have a Bowflex BXT216 and today after my workout as I was finishing up my workout, started slowing it down by pushing on the speed decrease button. That was it. The button never stopped klicking. Stop button doesn’t do anything. The start button is working, but speed increase/decrease doesn’t do anything. But the Kees keep clicking on their own. I’ve unplugged it then plugged back in still the clicking sound doesn’t stop. Error message says key button stuck. Any advice? Thanks
Hi Joe we moved our treadmill worked fine before we moved it. It turns on but nothing else happens, The Data plug is in so that not the issue. Any help would be great
I appreciate this video, it's very helpful! I am getting the motor trying to work, but the belt does not move freely at all. Does that mean my motor is shot?
I recommend giving our company, Fitness Graveyard, a call at 563-949-0799. You can speak with an in house technician who can help you diagnose the issue over the phone. They can also help you find any parts needed for repair. Thanks!
Thanks for the illustration. The problem with my treadmill is the upper panel lights up and non of the buttons works when you hit (Safety key is in place). Could you please advise?

Mr. Joe, I need your helpful advice, please. I have ct9.3 horizon folding treadmill. It suddenly stops and there starts coming clicking sound from the motor control board. After a long time it resets itself automatically and again stops and same clicking sound starts coming from the control board. Can you please advise what trouble this can be and how to fix it. Thanks.
