Great film. I’ve been on antibiotics for a UTI since 20.12.20 I’ve seen a urologist and he’s told me I need to stay on them for 3-4 months. I asked him if it could be the menopause as I’m 54. He said he wasn’t interested in discussing it! Told me to speak to my GP.

I suffered from recurrent bladder infections for ten years. I didn't find that local estrogen help. I found the estrogel-hrt helped along with always having an antibiotics prescription on hand. So at the first sign of an infection I could stop it Rather than having to wait for a doctor appointment-a delay that allowed the infection to escalate.

Yes. I started with Premarin and had to stop. It is scented and gave me a rash. I've been using Estragyn 0.1% for 2 years. I insert 2mg twice a week. I'm seeing my Dr. in 2 weeks. I want to ask if I can 3 times a week because it's been a couple of weeks I feel irritation to the urethra and labia before it is time for my next treatment. 🌹

Is this only for women who have had a histo? I still have my uterus and I’m not getting periods hardly at all. Is it still safe for me to take estrogen cream? It helps my uti issues so much and I can’t tolerate the progesterone unfortunately it makes uti worse and weakens my already weak immune.

Thanks to you I now have a prescription for Vegifem. I had a insist I had it. A real pity the male urology doctor I saw doesn’t know anything about the menopause causing UTIs. He was an absolute disgrace.

My now 83 year old mother had a stroke back in 2019 and she has had reaccurrent uti's continuously and all they do is fill her with antibiotics and the last batch which lasted 14 days almost sent her to the emergency room because they were so strong. She was told because of her stroke she could not take estrogen.

Vaginal estrogen is considered non systemic . Not the same as oral estrogen.

I was on antibiotics last December for an ear infection, got a UTI a month later, more antibiotics, then two months after that, a yeast infection which I thought was a UTI (never had a yeast infection in my life) was prescribed more antibiotics mistakenly ,then last month another UTI,now a yeast infection again which I will be taking diflucan for and stay on it once a week for about 3 or 4 months..I have been on Estradiol cream since my early 50's (in my 60's now)The only time I didn't use it was when I used Monistat cream for yeast in April.I had about 2 UTI's before all these antibiotics, which leads to the yeast, so I'm in a vicious cycle I was NEVER in before my 60 plus years! Right now I'm trying probiotics and D-mannose with cranberry pac's.I thought the estrogen would protect me and it worked great for YEARS til alll the antibiotics! What else should i do?? I'm so discouraged.. I love your videos, they make so much sense and you explain things so well!

Have you got a uterus still? Just curious as I want to know if it’s safe to use estrogen only with a uterus. I too have been suffering severe uti and it’s gone to my kidneys each time and in my blood stream this year. It’s so scary. I have a very weak immune though so it’s why I’m so prone. Plus I make too much androgens which causes your immune to be weaker and makes you prone to uti.d

Nearly every study done on vaginal estrogen has shown no increased risk of urine or cervical cancer with vaginal estrogen so please please use it you have a greater chance of having a terrible year to track infection that could lead to problems

@@heatherhirschMDthank god I’m going to start using it again. I was also scared of this but I have the worst year of uti and health issues. I can’t even sleep cos of the uti it’s a nightmare it’s in my kidneys and culture isn’t always reliable cos I take so much natural stuff to kill the bug. They found E. coli last culture but it’s not just E. coli there is another bug too but it won’t culture. Also they don’t give strong enough antibiotics here in Australia 🤦🏻‍♀️ we get given cephalexin as first line of defense antis or trimethoprim and then amoxicillin duo forte but that’s about all I have been given off doctors. Need to see a urologist cos health care system is pathetic here. Used to be good but it’s not anymore unless you have an amazing doctor.
