I was an avid tanner in the 90s all year around. I suffered a skin cancer removed and major skin damage. This was at 25 i stopped all sun, became bestfriends with sunscreen and got on tretinoin. Now im 40 yrs old. Ive been on tret continuously for 15 yrs no breaks. I have thick, plump, even toned wrinkle free skin. I get compliments all the time on my skin and not looking my age. I tribute it all to tret. I will use it until my last days, maybe throw a tube in my casket for the afterlife. Thats how much i love it.

It took me over 6 months to start seeing a difference in my skin using tretinoin. I’ve been using it for a little over one year now & my skin is in the best shape it’s ever been in. In fact, I just got a new prescription for a stronger dose & I’m going through the peeling stages again. I call it having dandruff on my face because it’s constantly shedding. I know this shedding will only last a couple weeks, at tops, so I’m OK with it. Please don’t throw in the towel too soon. It really does take quite a while before you see results.

Right. There's always a couple "experts" that try to make a name for themselves by intentionally spreading misinformation, usually along the lines of "I discovered secret information the medical community is hiding from you!" No doubt he probably has a product of his own that's miraculously a "cure" for the particular ailment he claims to be an expert on. Or selling a book, podcast, something. There's usually always a financial motive for this behavior. We always have to be sure to look into these sorts of things on our own, too. Never take bold claims at face value. I appreciate you, too, Dr. Dray!

@rachelh9550 putting on moisture before can help. I use aquaphor on top at night, but this seems to help some people and irritate others. I've had success with snail mucin, centella asiatica, and hyaluronic acid serums, too. A daytime moisturizer with urea could also help. The one from Eucerin is nice and pretty inexpensive. I don't really have much dryness from it anymore, so hopefully, yours will be temporary, too.

In addition to my face I also put it on my upper back as far as I can reach over my shoulder (for spots) and my husband commented that he could see a marked difference in sun spots between the upper part of my back and the lower; the lower having far more marks as I had not applied Retin A. I’m so glad I found your response video. I listened that other video and got so worried about it that I was ready to change my way of using tretinoin to three times a week. I’ve been using it since I was 39 now I’m 60 and have seen the long term results. People do not believe I’m 60. Basically I use it every night.1% concentration. During the day I use a hyaluronic acidic serum, a moisturizer and sunscreen. Never, never leave without sunscreen.

I started with Tretinoin a few years ago using 0.05%. Prior to that, I used retinol creams. I now juggle between both types. I’ve never had a side effect, except maybe for some slight dryness or flaky skin. Sometimes I’ll use a very light serum or moisturizer under the Tretinoin if I’m feeling sensitive. I also don’t use it every day and alternate with things like Vitamin C or Glycolic acid. It has always seemed safe and effective to me. Thanks for this video.

I now use it for fine lines/wrinkles/sun damage. I will be 50 in 2 weeks time and I cannot tell you how many times I receive compliments on my skin. I have a 31-year-old daughter and we are routinely confused as sisters everywhere we go. It's just a fact. So all you younger women out there believe me and trust me get your butt on tretinoin and use it regularly you will thank yourself down the road! Oh and I am going to add, everything that Dr Dray says about sunscreen is absolutely true as well! I have been using sunscreen regularly since I was 11 years old. And yes I actually apply it two to three times a day! That is one of the most important things, keep your face out of the sun! And the rest of your body as well, your legs may look great tan when you're 25 but when your past 40 that won't be the case anymore! May I ask why you wore sunscreen regularly in the early 80s? The effects of UVA rays on aging haven't been studied as extensively back then and all sunscreens available at that time were not broad spectrum (only formulated to protect against UVB rays). The only FDA approved chemical UVA filter Avobenzone hasn't been approved until 1988 and mineral sunscreens have not been anywhwere near cosmetically elegant at that time and nobody would have worn it daily. So what was the point?
@kelleycranny3972
@kelleycranny3972 Год назад
@@crystalclear7512 wrong, number one I'm very fair skin blue-eyed and we live in Southern California and moving here from Michigan when I was nine. We regularly bought a sunscreen called Ti-screen, and it was one of the few sunscreens that had Avobenzone. It was very well known about sunscreen usage in the '80s lol I don't know where you're getting that information from! The problem was the lack of available sunscreens that protected against UVA which is why we bought the Ti-screen because it was the only one that was face-friendly and had the avobenzone in it. I used that particular sunscreen for quite a few years until they started coming out with better ones. Living in Southern California and going to the beach as a blonde blue-eyed white girl and not wanting to get fried, believe me sunscreen was a very important thing in our household! The only problem was being called Casper and white girl! Lol funny though I never gave into peer pressure and did not allow myself to tan. Smart move that I don't regret.

It’s ALWAYS been a weird and bumpy square patch for my entire life. It is as smooth as the rest of my skin now. I’m also 55 and no one ever believes that is my age. Everytime he talks he seems to be coming from the idea that women, his audience, could not possibly know anything at all about skincare already on our own. Perfect timing, I saw this interview 2 days ago and it raised concerns since I'm about to start tretinoin. Before that, I did read literature and studies on tretinoin, so I was confused at first, and then highly skeptical when I heard his interview, especially when I understood that he was in fact promoting his "fat-restoring cream". There is another video of him talking about facial fat volume loss (again, to promote his cream) with statements about what causes facial fat loss, like intensity training or dynamic movement of the face with no actual studies to back up what he said. The bottom line is, what any good his fat-restoring cream does (if it works) if your skin cannot hold tight because of the lack of collagen?... On the other hand, Tretinoin is clearly promoting collagen production in the skin.
