@@briand7381I know that they have a chef who prepares the food and I'm pretty sure he does it at the studio in Lahore where they film. I don't know if it's been the same person the entire time, or if they've had a couple of different people over time. But, I'd love to see a tour of the studio and some footage of the food being prepared as well. I think it would be very interesting! 😊
When I was a teen, I had an exchange student from Agentina. I made her a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, served with a glass of milk. She had never had a sandwich like this before. After talking a bite, her eyes got big. She said; What is this? This is the food of the Gods!"
Honestly I am shocked. Never expected the PB&J to stand the test of distance. I doubt these men would like the way I made them as a kid .. a rather thin layer of crunchy PB with as much grape jelly a slice of bread could hold. So much that both hands were needed to contain the jelly. I'd love to make one now but I am 61 years old and doubt I could handle it.
When I was poor and 18 after working all day I would come home and make a PB&J with three pieces of toasted bread and it filled me up for the entire night lol...still love eating those...getting too old now to eat THAT much food though lol
Gul Sher Khan is awesome. I could watch him in these videos all day. Super charismatic, intelligent and just seems like a strong man of respect and honor.
I dated a Korean once and when I said I was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, she looked confused and said, pausing and pantomiming between each as though to confirm she was understanding me correctly, "Peanut butter? ... Jelly? ... *Sandwich*!?" So I made her one, and after tentatively taking a bite, she enjoyed it.
I found it especially interesting that Rana calls the PB&J a breakfast sandwich. My dad, who was born and raised in Taiwan but has spent almost his entire adult life in the US, eats a PB&J for breakfast three or four times a week, and *never* at any other time of day. I've picked that up to some extent and have a PB&J sandwich for breakfast once or twice a week, though I think of it as an all-purpose snack.
Yes PB&J sandwiches are a poor person's food. But is really popular with all children regardless of money. 😅😅😅 I prefer strawberry jam over regular jelly. The jam has chunks of strawberry in it. 😊😊😊
Strawberry jam or preserves is my go-to, too, and crunchy peanut butter. Slightly toasted bread makes the peanut butter and the jam spread more easily. Yum!
Never had cheese on a Sloppy Joe growing up. Never thought of it. I'm sure it's good. Haven't had one in years. May have to put some items on my next shopping list. 🤔 ...as for PB&J sandwiches being "made for the poor", I must be poor, as I have had many growing up, and still like one every now and again...
Peanut Butter and Jelly was at first a rich persons food. Sliced bread machines caused jelly to be more in demand and hence far more was made lowering the price for those in the cities same with lowering the price of peanut butter which until then was considered an expensive health food outside of expensive sanitariums and certain hospital wards such as heart attack patients.
Manwich crap is a waste. Other than ground beef everything should be in pantry: onions, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, garlic, maybe bell pepper if you like.
I never liked Sloppy Joes when I was growing up. However, one time my husband made them for us, put a slice of Kraft American cheese on it and had me try, and I was converted.
I wish you guys gave Mr. Chaudry the whole peanut butter and jelly/jam sandwich. He not only ascended to heaven with that first bite but I think he'll be in paradise having a whole sandwich to himself.
@toolbaggers If they have a translator with them that is highly familiar with American foods and Muslim customs thwn that shouldn't be a problem. Besides, all you have to do is inform the server of any food allergies or restrictions like most restaurants suggest in their menus 🤷♂️
The reason two of the gentlemen didn't go on the trip to Dubai was, they didn't have papers. Since they are tribal people, they may not have birth certificates. They may not know their exact birth date.
"It is saturated with cheese! Praises be to God!" pretty much sums up how we view anything with melted cheese here in America 😆😁 And also..."sloppy joke" and "peanut, butter, and jam" 😁💖 We don't usually put cheese on our Sloppy Joes, or toast our PB &J, but, both make the sandwiches more awesome! Thanks for sharing these reactions! I love seeing, like music, how food can traverse time and place to make people feel! So glad the gentlemen enjoyed!! Also...we need to see more of the ladies reactions!😊💖🙏
I think all 3 looked really good. How lucky are we to live in a country with great regional differences when it comes to food?! Yes, some people use white toast for PB&J. Yes, some people use less sauce in a sloppy joe and DO in fact put cheese on them. The only authentic Philly cheesesteak can be had in Philly, and as such there are many variations (even in the city of Philadelphia). Rather than be surprised, appreciate our diversity. I think they did a great job, especially as I’m sure some of the ingredients may be difficult to get in that part of the world.
I love how their English improves. I have learned to say "hye hye hye and Inshallah . Thanks Chaudhary and DR. Tahir. How are Ranas new teeth and the wisdom that king Gul Sher Khan brought back with him. He reminded me of the TEN COMMANDMENTS movie when Moses went to the mountain and came back after talking to God and his hair turned mostly gray. I'm serious and I'm not trying to be funny. God bless you all .
Sloppy joes are made in our schools for lunches!! 😂💯👍Traditionally it is not served with cheese but it's made with mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, onions, green pepper 🫑... The kids out here love it!! We're so glad you enjoyed it!!!! May God continue to bless you all & your families 🙏❤️🇺🇸
Some people might think that this channel is just about the you guys learning about western foods and culture, but the truth is, we end up learning a lot about your culture as well. You guys are awesome! 😎 👍
No. Shows a very strong "ME" attitude. A showing of being Headstrong. All of which = A showing of Childish Character = Lack of Control of Mind, Mouth and Actions.
I never knew I was poor growing up but a wonder bread and mayonnaise sandwich or a watercress sandwich or radish sandwich was common! Oh and a bread and butter pickle sandwich.
As a Northeastern Ohioan, I loved a simple thin grilled/sautéed piece of bologna with mustard and/or ketchup, between two pieces of Wonder bread! As a 50+ year-old adult, I prefer our local Iron Chef, Michael Symon's, more adult version, to include a ring of red onion, a slice of provolone cheese, on lightly slices of mayonnaised slices of bread, seasoned to taste with cracked fresh black pepper!!!
I enjoy watching all these gentlemen try different foods! They always find something nice to say. Love their Spence of humor! Always thankful! Thumbs up! Please keep the videos coming!
u guys make me smile every video keep having fun out there and enjoy everything life has to offer , always look forward to yalls smiles and big ol laughs !!!!
Maybe it seems like a PB&J is for poor people, but it's for everyone because it's perfect. It's peanutty, salty, and sweet. Got some protein in there too from the peanuts. For a meal or a snack (especially a late night snack, in my opinion), it's great. I'll never ever give up eating PB&Js! ❤ Peanut butter, jelly! Peanut butter, jelly! Peanutbutterjelly! Peanutbutterjelly! Peanutbutterjelly and a baseball bat! 😁
A PB&J sandwich is considered more deadly than an AR-15 in some schools. Republicans want more guns in schools but they keep raising kids that are allergic to staple foods.
Hello. This was so good. I am also one of those not-cheese on sloppy joe but my husband likes his with cheese. Also, I don't toast my bread for peanut butter and jelly. Then - in my opinion of course - it is just toast with jelly and a butter spread. I like my bread soft for pb&j. Have a wonderful day!
I've never seen a sloppy joe with cheese or a PB&J on toast. They sound like variations I might try. PB&J has been a long time staple for kids' lunches or at least it used to be before peanut allergies were a thing.
Toasted PB&J is the only way to eat it! I toast the bread with butter first, then add strawberry jelly and natural peanut butter when the bread is hot. DELICIOUS!!!!
Don't worry. As Americans we've brought obesity, diabetes and heart disease to all of the industrialized world. These people just trying one of our foods every few weeks is nothing. Hope that makes you feel better 🤣
I'm very excited for the start of the series where foreigners prepare your recipes! These were all very accessible, poor man's meals that every American gets to eat at some point in their life. Truly love when you all enjoy our simple, childhood dishes.
Some other hearty sandwiches they may enjoy are a Meatball with tomato sauce and melted cheese, or the Cuban. Perhaps also a BLT but with turkey bacon. Glad they enjoy our sandwiches :)
@daledonaldson3672 no because the sandwich was created in America by Cuban-Americans. Just like Italians consider Spaghetti and Meatballs an American dish, as Italian immigrants used their know how and American ingredients to create a new dish. Tacos were invented in Mexico.....Fajitas are a Southwestern "Tex-Mex" dish
I love how they admire the sandwiches first, take a nice bite, place the sandwiches back on the plate, savor the taste while admiring the sandwich again and totally enjoy the experience ❤
They're right; peanut butter jelly sandwiches were GREAT for poor people. You can buy a loaf of bread, peanut butter and jelly, and have sandwiches all week! :)
I love all these guys so much!!! I just want to hug them all😂 I wish they were all my brothers and that I could feed them and watch their expressions! This channel should probably win the Nobel Peace prize because it indeed takes down the barrier between our cultures and causes us to love one another❤
That was a god idea to have them sample several sandwiches, almost like a tasting platter. 🥪 For me, sloppy joes are geared more to kids (they were served to us in schools) or for adults in need of a fast meal solution. Also they're usually served without cheese. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are definitely more for children, though as a child I never took to them since I never liked peanut butter. Philly cheesesteaks are good but not one of my favorites. I'm just glad they got to try them. As usual the guys were fun and gracious.
I love the invitation at the end to come eat together. I wish they would do episodes where all of them try new foods together in a group, so we could hear their conversations with each other as they interact. What a treat that would be!
I knew Mr. Chaudhary would love the PBJ! That sloppy joe use to be a poor man’s sandwich but beef is so expensive now. You can just mix some chunky tomatoes in with ground beef and a little sugar! Easy sloppy joe. Add more veggies if you like.
Also us Gen Jones. We are the ones who are on the tail end of the Boomers and just before you Xers. I never felt like a Boomer Baby (1963) always felt closer to Gen X. Then I found out that my generation was “Generation Jones”. Long explanation you didn’t need but I too loved Sloppy Joes, of course with American cheese and mustard, may bc I’m a Southerner. 😁 ✌🏻
My go to breakfast; peanut butter and jelly on toast with coffee. And you can't go wrong with a good Philly cheese steak. Of course, if made right sloppy joes can be great too.
Now Chaudhary needs to try the classic Elvis sandwich: peanut butter and banana slices. That can also be fried in a pan with butter on the outside of the bread for a warm option. And a Fluffernutter sandwich, which is peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. He will go cross eyed with joy lol. Nutella can also be added to both for a chocolatey addition.
Where I'm from in the Midwest U.S., the sloppy joe looked more like a Made Rite sandwich and a sloppy joe is typically much more saucy and messy. Glad you're having such a great time!
Never had sloppy Joe with cheese. And when a sloppy Joe or steak Sandwich is for rich people. If he only new it's working class food.great show as always.
My mother told me that when she was growing up, "Sloppy Joes" were not allowed at the dinner table, as her father found them undignified. Her father's name? Joe.
I love you guys. This makes me want to come to Pakistan and have you guys feed me samples of your country's cooking and watch my reactions 😆 ...seriously. A few more sandwiches: American burger with American cheese pickles, onion lettuce, whatever else. Peanut butter and banana on toast, thats a southern one. Grilled cheese. I know we have so many convenient foods and drinks and I praise God for that.🙏
I love Philly cheesesteaks! I live in Ohio so Penn Station hot and straight from the grill are the best. I wished they could try them, they’re so good.
It's so funny when he says that we're choosy giving our dishes names! It's interesting to think there are cultures out there where one food name means that ONE dish, not having to specify which variation of each food.
Shredded sharp cheddar cheese is the best cheese on it. Also we started serving them on brat buns, or on hotdog buns. This works great, with very little spillage.
Since Philadelphia cheese steaks come from Pennsylvania and so do I. I will agree they are food of the gods. Must eat with onions, sweet bell peppers, tomato sauce on a toasted roll of course steak,I like my light on the cheese.peanut butter n peach sugar free jam is my go to snack when I want something sweet.
@@TribalPeopleTryOfficial thank you soooooo soooo much!!!! I will b looking out for it…can you plz plz plz tell Rana he has a fan of his singing from lynn Massachusetts usa…I live just a little south of Boston Massachusetts…my name is Crystal…thanks in advance
Guys you never cease to amaze ☺ you always dress smart for dinner...and always appreciate what you try! 😁 i struggle with sandwiches as bread can hurt my tummy 😱 kindest regards from the uk xox
1:10 Mr. Chaudry has mastered the American round-sandwich-bun-holding-technique that's necessary to keep the contends from escaping. Well done, Mr. Chaudry. He still struggles with opening his mouth wide enough for American-style sandwiches, but that's ok, its not something worthy of mastering.
