I wish I could eat eggs like that. Eggs hurt my stomach something fierce. Egg white omlettes I can eat. But it's rare to find those.

We called “tortilla de patatas” or potato omelette so yes, he was right. 😘 from Spain.

The Italians make similar “omelettes” with garlic, Parmesan and other vegetables like spinach or boiled, baby asparagus (be sure to add some of the water from boiling your veggies).

Since many of the cast have noticed how popular eggs are around the world, it might be fun to explain to them that Classically Trained Chef's will say their toques (hats) have so many folds/creases in them because there is one for each way they know how to prepare an egg, and that an experienced chef should have at least 100 folds.

I don't know what that is, but Spanish tortilla I assure you that it is not. Looks horrible. You should respect the original dishes a little more

That tortilla doesn't look too tasty... Are there many ways to prepare a tortilla, but where I live is usually less cooked, firm on the outside, but hot and liquid in the inside. You should be able to see the potato pieces in the tortilla instead of some kind of mashed potatos. I really don't understand the alioli with the Tortilla, but ok...

My brother and sister-in-law lived in Spain for 3 years and learned to cook many Spanish dishes. This is one of my favorites and I ask them to cook it for my birthday breakfast every year.

Tortilla de papas is name of this dish in Argentina. One of my favorite things to eat.

Sorry, but I think it's disgusting how they eat with their hands and lick their fingers.

By the way, there are variants of it. With onion for example is very good, compliments the potato very well. If not, I like to use minced garlic for extra flavor. And I like the egg to be a little liquid, not totally curd. There is no risk of salmonella because it's cooked in olive oil, wich requires a high temperature so the heat itself kills the bacteria if it has ever been in the egg. As for sauces, mayonnaise, garlic mayonnaise and allioli are perfect. I'm happy you liked our national dish.

The dish originates from the poor regions of Spain, there are many. Only the tourist-full cities on the Coast, plus Madrid and Barcelona might be considered "rich". The range of food in Spain is amazing, especially the cooler coastal areas and the Basque country. The Spanish call this dish Tortilla, in English it's Spanish omelette - our Spanish friend makes it amazing! 😋

Here we go again !! Burned egg on an omelette. Time to find a chef that DOES NOT scorch the eggs when they are cooked. Just like last week when the eggs for the spinach omelette were also scorched and brown. Someone needs to learn how to TURN DOWN THE HEAT. This is a poor excuse for a breakfast cook - find someone that knows how to do it.

When I went to Spain, this was the dish I had for my first dinner with my host family. It was simple, it was filling, and it was delicious. They didn't serve it with aioli (I don't think I ever saw it served anywhere with sauce - this was 30 years ago, so sauce may be a new thing), but it was so delicious on its own. I think I had the same reaction as our First Lady of Tribal People Try - I was practically dancing in my chair because I was so happy with how good it was. Thank you for introducing this favorite dish of mine to some of our favorite people of this channel! May you all be blessed with good health, happiness, friends and family to love and support you, and wealth to sustain you.
