Re-upload of the Rocket 3 Test for Heavy Duty Magazine in full HD. Some of the riding footage went a bit grainy in the earlier Standard Definition upload. A fabulous motorcycle!
Your review is as good as my Rocket - bloody brilliant. When I saw them lined up at Hinckley factory before launch, I knew it was a special bike. Riding it was an affirmation. Test one.... We all have different tastes and this bike fills my cup!
From Chicago. I have a 2017 Rocket and a Rocket TFC. TFC is fantastic. Only two minor negatives on TFC. First gear from a dead stop requires some throttle compared to old bike and old gas cap has a better look and function. Great review!
@@barryballs3837 I like the way you operate, Mr. Balls! RU-vid review 2 weeks ago, thinking about getting it 1 week ago, bought it 4 days ago...that's how a bloke decides on something he wants. Congrats and enjoy! I just told the wife that the Rocket R is my next bike, to be parked alongside my BMW K1600GT and 1200GSAdventure. She just rolled her eyes and asked if I don't want to think about it a bit more.....LOL!
It looks like an absolute blast and from this video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-y5kXaoDnYYA.html) it can rip some road up pretty nicely.
I took one out from the dealer for an hour. The biggest improvements I noted was the easier steering, the gearbox, brakes, mirrors and driveshaft lack of slop. If you have been riding an older model with a retune, then the new model wont feel all that faster. But the new one sure giddies up around bends. Not a huge fan of the gauges, but you need them to be competitive. I like the looks, but I wonder if they will still look good in 5 years. The old model is a better long distance bike.
Here's my take, 99% of reviewers laugh out loud when they take a pull on the throttle. I believe I NEED a bike that creates laughter at the turn of the wrist.
Personally I prefer metal-shinny and chromed bike looks ranging from handle bar, wheels to drive shaft, etc. Today most bike manufacturers have adopted the black-out design theme for most bike models to attract younger buyers. I wish they can go back to the old days with a lot of shinny chrome parts incorporated into their bike design.
It’s been 20 years since I was in Australia (far too long) but I assume the speeding restrictions are still as draconian, how do you chaps keep your licence riding beasts like the Rocket?
I enjoy mine immensely. I don't so much speed as get to the posted limit very quickly. Just because you have a huge dick, doesn't mean you have to be a porn star, similarly just because my 22 gt will get to 100 kph in around 2.7 seconds, and make a Hyabusa look slow, it doesn't mean I have to crack the throttle at every opportunity.
