You are the man!!! I just did my heater core 4 days ago and my blower motor started making noise........I thought I had to pull my dash again and was about to cry LOL, Thanks!
Amazing video, very helpful because I have a 1988 Thunderbird and I'm pretty sure it's going to be the same setup, Fox body and all. Even if it doesn't work yet this was very informative thanks a lot
Awesome video. This made it easy for me to remove the unit and check the HVAC blower. Installation was just as easy. Found that my ground wire was loose this whole time.
Thank you so much for the video! I believe that my fan has years of dust buildup to the point that the motor trips when I try to put it on full blast...I will soon find out!
Great video man, although i have been involved with these cars for the last 30 years my knowledge of the HVAC system is not that great, in other words for the last 30 years i have "avoided" dealing with it ,lol, anything else I'm pretty much a a old hand at, i have seen replacement fan motors for these cars and they need to be hardwired, i think thats what happened here at some point, oem ones are plug and play, could be wrong.
you're going to need to pull your blower down like i showed and check the wiring. If nothing is obviously broken, cut the wires and try running the blower directly off a battery. If the blower runs, you have wiring issues in your car. If the blower does not run, replace it.
thanks!! wouldn't by chance know how to replace a heater core without removing the dash would u ? ...something tells me there's no way around the pain....uggh
The dash has to come out my friend, not all the way out of the car, but might as well be. It's a ton of work. I caught a break because the previous owner cut around the housing, so i didn't need to pull the dash back as far in order to remove the lid from the heater box. If you want to save yourself some headache, try cutting off the back of the lid with a dremmel, then you can slide the core out... but you still gotta pull back the dash. it sucks!
