I do the very work that you do here in the United States , you should put enough air in the tire to hold the lock ring in place but do not air up the tire till it on the truck ! This will help prevent a three piece rim coming apart and not caged between the two tires And or the tire to blow out when you are putting the tire on the truck ! Only pump up the tire after you have removed your jacks and the tire is secure on the truck and you are away from it ! I have seen cracks in the locking ring on them type of wheels and if it break it would be bad !! I have also see tires blow out setting in a parking lot and not going down the road ! I hope this will keep you safe and able to do this type of work for years to come to support your family ....
You are absolutely right Randy, this happen ed in Malaysia last year , when the worker inflated a crane tyre and it exploded the rim hit his head caused severe head injuries.died on the spot.
@@EnemyDwarf-TTV there are a lot of cracks at the rim - 7:44min, where the nuts tighten the whole wheel, so you can't be 100% sure it will not blow apart when pressuring the tyre. I know this is not normal, but accident is accident, otherwise it should call future prevision and wouldn't have accidents.
Respect to those that have to deal with conditions/material and salaries we Western people can not even imagine!!! I have seen myself how tough the driver’s and mechanic’s live is in the 3rd World.... I wish you guys the best of luck and of course,a very happy 2023... Those who critisize you from far away.... they have no clue... don’t mind them.... Kind Regards,Greetings,Henk, the Netherlands.
I guess that the unbalanced baldies would be OK in a place where 50 kph was a good speed. Still, one has to admire the "can do" ingenuity of roadside service offered. The trolley with coil springs taking most of the weight of that hefty rattle gun was an eye-opener! Good thinking!
@@nunez23j1 This is the boogey tires on the third not liftable axel, so they should be balanced just as well as the drive tires on the second axel and steering tires on first axel., When come to lift able third (or second) axel there is no need for balancing exept for comfort.
I didn’t realise that they ran one super tread, coupled with a slick to cover all eventualities! Must be the best all round/all weather combination out there eh!? Shit, dangerous or what...bless em! Cheers
This pressure - operated jack is some pretty useful piece of equipment I haven't seen yet! No levers, no cranks - no sweat! Easy! Throughout the procedure we can watch here - pulling the rims first, then the tyres - we can also see that these trucks are the last of the Dinosaurs, technically spoken: bias tyres (check the size, 10.00 - 20, so it's not a radial tyre), split rims, and other interesting technical features rooted in the past. But still running.
@@raymonster55 Sorry, no idea! Maybe these tyres are still being made with a lower price in mind. Old stock? Bias tyres are not made anymore since the late 1970s or so, so any stock of vintage rubbers would be very hard to find. However, Nylons are still manufactured for some vintage cars the rims of which do not accept radials. One company called Mitas, situated in the Czech republic, is a specialist for vintage nylon tyres.
@@jurgenkuhlmann9194 Thank you so much for your reply. I wasn't sure exactly when the bias ply tires were officially discontinued. I know that they still offer new bias ply tires for light duty trailers. You can get Koker brand tires for older vehicles, many look like the bias tires they are replicating but are actually modern radial construction.
@@raymonster55 You mean cross ply tyres?' I think China manufacture cross ply tyres, as some vintage lorries and buses, cannot be fitted with tubed or tubeless radial tyres. So there is a limited market for cross ply tyres especially among those owning a 1930,50,s vintage lorry ,bus ,or coach.
@@basiltaylor8910 I think cross ply and bias ply mean the same thing. Just called different things in different places. I'll bet you're right. Older vehicles may work better with the old style tyres. Cross ply tyres are mostly obsolete where I live for highway use except for trailers.
Also, taking a tire off, a lug full gone at a time is the WORST WAY to remove a tire, you need to loosen then all then go back and remove them, still 1000x better quality job than i would expect from someone of that colour tho. Insane to think he barely damaged the truck in his numerous fuck-ups
Put some top fuel drag slicks on them rims, it will make the truck go faster. Really liked the cracks by the holes for the lugs, good for another 100,000 miles. Can't be too safe!!
@@ginog5037 easy for you westerns to make this argument.. if you barely eat comfortably 3 times a day, they give no sh*t for eco friendly or whatever, just put whatever tire in there that works to make those money to buy food and other needs.
@@lesterloutte2320 You just proved how irrelevant human life is. Especially on those mountainous roads with over loaded trucks. I would expect an apology from you with your short sided dumb comment?
I see that more air pressure was put in the tire with absolutely no tread to make up for the difference in diameter! Oh, and the crack in the rim is supposed to be there!
I admire all the hard work you do remember to put safety and health when doing things in a planet for people who put the best ways of working true admiration ❤️❤️👋👋

Probably the truck driver was lucky to find those emergency used tires, when you are traveling from one side of the world to the other, sometimes even a gallon of water is hard to find, I know.
Wow! Lots of things different in whatever country this is in. Not much for OSHA regulations, me either......but some things I just won't do. Wearing flip-flops while mounting tires is high on the list. Airing up junk tires is another no go. The last junk tire I installed blew out at 70psi, glad it was bolted to the truck. Still got injured, but could have been dead.
Hi Saravana Tires. Umm you do realize the rim was broken? 2 cracks beside the mount holes. Pity you had to put treadless tires on. Guess the rest are sort of the same. Tough times. That is a lot of hard and tricky work, for putting back such parts. Massive loading as well. Good luck!
1 tire with no tread the other with visible tread lines but depth not measurable. Nothing goes to waste! Not sure that steel band through would have helped much if the rim came apart at 100 psi. Safety second!

I’m not surprised the tyres blew out! As they should have been replaced ages ago! Not when there is very little tread left on them! Your asking for trouble!
One tyre was a cross ply and the other a radial. That should never be done, the tyres have different handling characteristics but then they don’t care as long as they hold air. And as for putting that curved bit of metal through the holes in the wheel that would be completely useless. Have a look at some videos of split rings coming off while the tyre is being inflated and you can see how violent the explosion is. It would simply bend and allow the rings to come off. 😳👎🇦🇺
Cracked rims, bald tires, split rings, omg what the actual f is going on here?!!! no wonder theres so many channels on youtube for rebuilding these trucks. Now i know how they get wrecked!!! Just imagine the steer tires!!!! Holy sht. I cant believe what i'm seeing..
Vosa here in the UK wouldn't allow the replacement tyres on the road as for wheel tightening the guy should have done the diagonals so it pulls the wheel on straight.
Pretty ingenious using a piece of metal as a safety catch in case those split rims explode and trust me many a good tire man has lost their life with split rims they are absolutely dangerous!!
t will help if a tyre explodes, but not muck @ 150psi.that is why even the safety cages have been blown out of shape when one explodes. I have seen one blow off in a cage and one in fresh air, blew the roof out in the workshop as well as shrapnel into the office. The reason most places refuse to do them full stop.
Amazing that the old fashion rims , and the smartest technique?......is the bar he cross thru the rims holes ; why?....back then I remembered to see people with broken arms or head , because the ring who keep the tire in place , when they inflating the tire 250 psi , that ring snap off and fly like a bullet and easily can kill someone ....that bar save lives....
Nice video, all workers, Nicely and clean and tidy, brightly painted Nice colors, looks very well organised, excellent. Good Clean Work So.......... thanks By Wow Mechanics1
I was thinking the same thing, he inflates those tires as if they are balloons with no regard to his life, he is not supposed to put his face in front of it while inflating and should have a cage in case of an explosion.
Moderner Wagenheber zum Montieren von abgewrackten Reifen. Aber die Fahrzeuge laufen auch. Wahrscheinlich wird er in 14 Tagen wiederkommen, wenn die neu montierten Reifen wieder exlodiert sind.
Great job with the tyres but with no tread on the tyres I can’t see them lasting long. Also would not be safe on the roads. Where I live your vehicle would be defected and not be allowed back on the road till the police have seen that you have fixed them.
If you tried doing that here and even if the truck owner and driver was okay with driving on them, the police would be around at your shop checking everything.
