Great video. I've come across cockpit Inst panels that Do not show the dials very well. 1. Paint the back of the panel White. The Dial detail will stand out. When you sandwich it all together the "Brightness" will be toned down a bit.. Once in the cockpit there will be Dial detail that will be standing out not lost. You may OPT to add a little yellow and tan to the white to tone it down a bit.. Some WW2 dials had a Tanish Hue to the Numbers and pointers..... 2. Add a piece of White, Off White or Light Tan Construction paper to the back of the dial detail. White glue it on. Again you'll get Dial detail standing out, once in the cockpit it's a balanced look. At least for myself. Experiment! On a Scrap aftermarket panel! Don't dive off the board into the pool! I Have and Wrecked a few panels. FYI Blessings Darrell USA

Paul, you may wish to double-check the alignment of the middle of the three bulkheads on that cockpit assembly. It looked to me like its right side had slipped out of the slot in the cockpit floor, with the result being that the middle bulkhead was no longer parallel to the rear bulkhead. Other than that, a good start on the build; looking forward to part 2.

Love the cockpit as you where right to use a lighter primer color for the interior green or what I do is just put a few coats of the main color( Green as an example) for my 1/72 Thunderbolt as I had to spray it again since I mixed the Green to dark and I just st used that as a base coat since it wasn't a primer color and the green is the correct color for the landing gear bays as well. Hopefully this helps out and stay safe and enjoy your coffee!

Dear Mr Plastic, I confess I like this for two reasons- Cockpit building is the bit I like best, both to do and to watch. I have never made a Trumpeter model so it is very interesting to see how they do things. From one of your previous videos, I noted that this looks like a large model and I will be interested in the result, in particular the engine which I believe to be a double wasp- I will look in on that but for certain!! Regards, Z

First time for me Zin the trumperter kit engine should look sweet as they give you a clear cowling, Shall have to see if I can find an exploded diagram of the engine and perhaps detail it a bit ,Anyway have a good weekend and stay safe

Zin, yes, the Hellcat was the other big consumer of the R2800 Pratt & Whitney 18-cylinder radial engine.

Great start to a new project, the F6F Hellcat fighter.. excellent fighter indeed, the iconic "Zero killer" used by both the USN and RN alike. This fighter is a great icon indeed.. these things not only defeated the "Zero" but also took part in raids on the KMS Tirpitz herself. This aircraft is one of the top 5 best allied fighter planes of ww2, and it's great to see it get the spotlight. Excellent start, trumpeter is one of the BEST brands ever.. I'm still on the BF109G but it's coming along beautifully. You plan to put kill marks on the nose or maybe go with a diorama idea? Sorry to intrude but I just had to ask. Great start, this will be a masterpiece indeed , well done 👏 👍

Wow! The German vehicle is way more awesome than the Hellcat. Always has been a plain Jane Plane to me. Despite it's success and attributes. Like a K car.
