I started my journey in April of 2021 at close to 500 lbs and am now weighing 175 lbs. Being consistent and have never been as healthy or happier. Am now a 31 inch waist pants. I'm so happy that you came back to youtube because I used your videos as motivation. I've maintained and am now on a mission to tone up and up my exercise. Thank you for sharing your journey.
So impressive man, I've been doing 48 hour fasts into refeeds for the past 2 weeks. Hoping to keep up with you and share my journey aswell at the end. Starting weight 206lbs current 197 as of this morning
@@a.humphries8678 still going strong, I did a 4 day fast most recently and was as low as 187 but this morning I was around 191 so still slowly making progress in the right direction 💯💯
J Man! You are 4.6lbs away from achieving your goal, way to go brother! I am refeeding RIGHT NOW after a 90 hour fast from Sunday to today (6:40pm), I lost 9.4lbs.🙏🏽. I'm pretending to be you doing a refeed video, lol. It's kind of cool that you are going to refeed today, as well. Thanks for the inspiration👍🏾
I am SO glad you're covering this topic today. The refeed weight gain can drive you nuts if you let it. I usually look at my 7 day progress and how my clothes are fitting vs day to day scale readings just to see my overall loss and keep myself sane 😂😂
I just finished a 3 day fast and I chickened out with weighing myself. My clothes are much looser, I have more energy, but I had a lot of stress and sleep issues on the last day. Next time, I will just face my fear and weigh myself! Your videos are so helpful!
@@starnejme6902 It definitely worked for me this week! I'm working on the emotional side of things - not letting setbacks, including scale expectations, impact my mood.
I am on my 9th 72 hour rolling fast ( day 33 to be exact) I fast for 72 - 80 hours then refeed on the 4th day low carb keto. I'm currently down 28lbs thus far. This is the most committed I've been on my fasting journey and I have attempted to do this countless times for the past 7 years. However the self-doubt, negative thoughts, love/hate relationship to the scale has made the last 33 days a roller coaster ride. I felt it in my soul when you talk about giving up or having a stressful bad day and craving the instant boost of dopamine that food has always provided. I tell myself at least 10 times a day to "Trust the Process" so it brings me overwhelming comfort and confidence to see you touch on these very issues... reconfirming what I've known in my heart all along. The only thing I HAVE NOT been doing was adding physical activity to my day - I am a stay at home mom who spends 8 hours a day behind a desk for work. After watching a few of your most recent videos - I know that adding some activity to my routine will take my fasting journey to the next level. So grateful I found this channel! Thank you for the motivation!
Thats amazing! Love these results for you. I have looked online for women doing the rolling 72s with not much results. Have you fasted yet on your time of the month?
@@danielleryan6617 Thank you!! yes I have actually just fasted through my time of the month and I will be honest it can be discouraging!! Due to your hormones being wacky - you do tend to put on a few pound (according to the scale) I personally seem to retain water during this week and feel extra bloated. The cravings were at an all time high. I did commit through it and close to the end of my cycle the scale started to go down a bit. I have seen a few videos that talk about women should fast differently for these reasons. But most were referring to IF... So I'm glad I can share my experiences with a more prolonged fasting routine. I think a good thing to remember during your time of the month is that the weight you put on is not the weight you just lost. Even when the scale forsakes you - you will still feel the difference in your body! Also - just for some context I have suffered for years with imbalanced hormonal issues and PCOS - including insulin resistance. Fasting helps all these issues so even when that time of the month gives us women an extra challenge through an already challenging fast we should push though to the other side anyways so we can reap the rewards!
Thanks for the response! I heard the same thing about women should fast differently then men.. I'm working my way up to a 72 hour fast. I did it a few times but gave in cause I work 12 hour night shifts. 48 hour fast right now is doable. I fasted two days and the scale didn't budge.. are you doing anything particular in regards to your eating habits? Do you drink a gallon of water aswell or workout during your fast? Thanks for answering my questions it's a big help. Would love to drop some weight before June. 😅
OMG! You are so close to your goal!!! Congratulations! I know you have a plan for maintenance - knowing that you will regain some with each refeed, then lose some with each succeeding fast. I am anxious to see how you solve this riddle, in other words, the perfect maintenance plan.
I needed this message today. THANK YOU. Just completed a 40, first in my plan of rolling 40s. Lost nothing lol. I’m diabetic, and my glucose levels are my primary priority, with weight loss being my second. I really benefit from you sharing your mindset and experience. Thank you so much
Great answer Jerome, makes a lot of sense. You need some merch Jeromisms on there. Trust the Process. Consistency is the Key. Don't Wait Till Monday 🎉❤ Well done on getting this fasting lifestyle down....here comes maintenance soon, and we are all with you! Sending you much love and support XxX ❤️
Just wanted to say how much I have appreciated your videos over the years. About four years ago I lost 140 pounds mainly through fasting. I regained 80 pounds over the last year and a bit, binge eating due to an ongoing family crisis that has completely changed my daily life and future expectations. Like you, I have finally started fasting again after having spent a few weeks working up to it by staying in ketosis. 44 hours into this weeks fast right now, and planning to see how I feel at 72 hours. I feel better seeing how well you have done from a similar place. Best of luck.
I've gotten my sisteer to go adf together. We aim for 42 and then eat from 12-6pm. We usually end up finishing at 8pm though lol. But so far its been great! Before I did omad and plateud 20 lbs over my goal. At the time i knew I needed to switch from omad to adf, but I was just so stressed that i gave up and gained all the weight back. And ironically, after a year, I'm doing adf and its easier than omad because i dont think of food the entire day instead of everyday!! Now i wanna do 2 days fasts, but the ketosis breathe is nauseating and gag inducing I'll break my fast JUST to lower my ketone level. So far adf is just enough to get low levels of ketosis and by the time its time to eat I can eat carbs and kick myself back out of ketosis again. We've only done rolling for this week but I can feel I'm back into the grove of things! Its good to want to fast again.
it hits hard when you start the fasting app and are unable to complete the fast. you try again and when u click the app you realize you forgot to stop the app and it's been two days. 1 your surprised that much time has passed 2 you realize that could have been your progress if you had said no to that one thing.
Thanks to your videos I’m getting my fasting groove back. Can I ask what happened between 2021 and 2023 when you stopped posting and gained the weight back?
Back at it @jerome❤ You were right about water retention and lack of bowel mouvements. I fasted the next day, added 1h walk and lost 1.7kg. I did OMAD, but removed the chicken and added lentils. Lost 1lbs on that day. Thats great! The most important is consistency.
This is so inspirational. I am on my 1st attempt to do a consistent rolling fast. My 1st 4 day fast. I am so grateful to you.... I stumbled upon your channel & it's been a bolt of lightening impact. I am earnest in my effort this time around
Just wanted to drop by and express my support! I've been on my fasting journey for a few years now, but watching your videos has inspired me to delve into prolonged water fasting. Your transparency and vulnerability are truly appreciated and make your content so relatable. Your warm and kind energy shines through, making your journey even more inspiring. Keep sharing your amazing insights and experiences!
Glad to have come across your RU-vid channel. It seems you have created a great community of valuable support. I find your honesty and authenticity very inspiring and motivating. Thank you for sharing your challenges and explaining how you managed to pick yourself up again. I am so impressed with your consistency and discipline 👏 After falling off the wagon towards the end of last year, I am having great difficulties to stop the downward spiral. Gained back a lot of weight, it's all so demoralising 😢 I am going to watch a few more of your videos and read some helpful comments. Hopefully I can stop myself from falling deeper down the hole 🤞
Yall need to understand water is heavy and food is too. 1 litre of water is almlst a 1 kg of weight. Its true to trust the process. Understand that its impossible to put on fat overnight after you eat. Its just the weight of water and food in your body.
What surprises me is that, even after a fasting hiatus of about 6 months, I just picked up where I left doing 36-hour fasts, two times a week and shorter fast the rest of the week. It's like my brain knows it can be done, so it has become easy. But yes, i have to weigh daily and look at the weekly average only to know what progress I did. I was not weighing the past 6 months and my clothes felt fine for about 4.5 months and then suddenly my pants were tight. i weighed and was suprised to see i had gained 20 pounds! i carry it well and in good places, which may explain why it took me so long to feel it. so I'm not stopping my daily weigh-in anymore!
Thanks for the inspiration! 🙌🏼 I completed a 30 hr, then ate some good protein. (I won’t go into detail in case someone is fasting.) I couldn’t eat very much in just one feeding so when I finish this 70 hour fast, I’m currently on, I think I will eat at least two meals so I get enough protein to build muscle. I have difficulty eating a lot at one time after a fast. Does anyone else have that issue?
Well done 👏 u beat Th binge.....mind over matter.....few can say that .....u should start and channel and talk about it ....😊😊😊😊 Encourage others to Take the challenge
I have been binging on your videos. Thank you for all you do. I’m not new to fasting as I have lost a significant amount of weight in the past but I have put almost all the weight back in the last 2 years. I have fasted several times but not consistently so I put them all back. Now I’m a kindergarten teacher and I work two jobs, I have attempted fasting but can’t through the second day as I get headaches. Please what should I do?
Your Videos very helpful 4 me ....keeps my mind off of food. You have done An Amazing job👌 Iam Hopeful that I can do the same or close 2 it. ABSOLUTELY love it's just Hunger #blessing
Ive had amazing results in just a few weeks. Over the past month lost 20 pounds!! BUT im about to go to Europe for 3 weeks!!! I cant do very long fasts there or even OMAD because i have to stay by a bathroom!!! Im afraid ill gain it all back!!😢
Hey Jerome. Question, -have u ever had a dexa scan or checked body recomp? body fat % and muscle mass. I am just scared to lose muscle during extended fasts.
To palateau is a the worst. I stay off he scale and I am better off but I am completely slim again, I intermittently fast and I try not think about it anymore.
I do not like the scale. In the past I have sabotaged myself even when I see progress. This journey I started March 8th, I am measuring my waist. I am hoping for a 1 inch decrease every 14 days in the beginning. I will see.
Love this Jerome! Curious if you have made any changes to your physical activity within these last couple of fasts to get to your goal faster. Thanks for sharing your story hoping I can get the same benefits trying fasting.
I have a question? I do agree you have to fast to get better results with weight loss, and I do fast ones in the while. How does your style of fast effect your health. Do u do regular checks with doctor to make sure it's not to dangerous and no future side effect
🟡 TIP : If you're fasting for longer than a day, it's a good idea to take electrolytes - especially sodium, potassium, and magnesium. Your body has a small reserve of electrolytes stored in its tissues, but they deplete quickly, usually within the first 24-48 hours. Electrolytes are minerals that are essential for the normal functioning of your body’s systems and organs. When you run out of electrolytes, you could get headaches, muscle cramps, feel fatigued, etc. Do your research!
Im on day two of my 100 day challenge and im motivated, im gonna Refeed every fourth day like you! (90 hr fast) I was worried about what id eat because I’ve heard about refeed syndrome. Anyone else heard of it too?
