In the 80's we didn't have Let's Plays or RU-vid to watch if you couldn't beat a game, you had to import mangas to find out what happens in your game. This is what I'm going to tell my grandchildren

I had a feeling that the Convoy Hour Tryout would be rather less than 60 minutes. But I absolutely loved the "bonus content" with the manga. I hope that some future, er...let's say "condensed" tryouts merit a similar feature.
Fun fact - This game was made actually canon to the greater TF universe and lore. (From TFwiki) - The Alternity story, "To Die Game!", retcons this game as being part of a cross-dimensional game between the hyper-dimensional guardian Optimus Prime and the equally powerful Megatron, wherein Optimus had to choose one avatar (Ultra Magnus) to fight endless hordes of Decepticons empowered by Megatron.
Nope, Predaking was a toy made specifically for Transformers. In fact, Devastator was the ONLY combiner toy that existed before Transformers. Granted, Menasor, Superion, Defensor and Bruticus were originally designed for subline of Diaclone toys, but that subline was cancelled before they were every released because Transformers proved so popular in Japan as well as America, that Takara basically scrapped the Diaclone brand ENTIRELY and any toys that were being made for it were immediately incorporated into the Transformers brand
99% of the budget was spent on the transformers license and 1% was spent on the actual game. Love how most of the bullets are basically invisible against the background.

Shuuichi is like Ed Gein to the Autobots. Partly it's the skin wearing thing. Partly it's because you can't expect a human child to "hold it" through all that, can you?
Checking the wiki, the vast majority of enemies in this game are some shit the artists made up with no real direction. The planes are Seekers and the tanks are clones of Blitzwing. The bouncing invincible guys are supposed to be robot snails for god knows what reason
Even without having photosensitive epilepsy that flashing screen is very annoying. Add the 10 second crappy looping tune and it becomes clear why this game wasn't even included in those Chinese 100-in-1 bootleg cartridges. Fortunately just like the Japanese media has an uncanny ability to cause seizures in kids, SGF is very good in making an interesting video even if the game is... barely a game.
