The tangle teaser is for real coarse 4c girlies. My mom has 3a/3b and loves the other two brushes you used. I hate them on my 4c hair. The tangle teaser literally saved my life 😂
The tangle teaser is not a great design for coarse textured hair. You need a brush to have adequate spacing and separate the hair, flexible but firm bristles. Sure the brush clumps the hair and makes it look pretty so id say it's a styling brush. Many ppl with textured hair rave about that brush and wonder why they have so many split ends.
I couldn't handle any. I have 3c 4a.They would tangle my hair so bad right after. I would have to stretch it like crazy to keep it from tangling. I'm still on the search for a decent brush
I like the unbrush because I have fine 3a b and c (heat damage did its big one on me) hair so it doesn’t cause a lot of breakage which I love and my hair is low porosity so it doesn’t hold moisture for shit and even when I dry brush (which ik is bad sue me) it moves like watttaaa 😊
i might be wrong but i’m pretty sure she was using it wrong in the video because with mine came this back thing that you put onto the brush to make it less flimsy. i have not even tried the brush yet so it may be bad even with that but maybe this will help u
@@chunkymonkey170mine works for me, but i definitely wouldnt say its the best. It has dramatic decreased my shedding/me ripping out my hair, but id imagine especially as you getvto longer length there are much better options. I use mine in the shower with the conditioner or shampoo in my hair, i dont use it to detangle. I think it works better than a wide tooth comb though, at least for me
@@_Hollie_ uno what i finally used mine and it was not good 😭😭 and my hair is even short. i use a wide tooth comb for detangling too and it’s the only comb/brush i use on my hair my whole wash day from start to finish. if you have any recommendations for better ones i will take them‼️‼️
@@chunkymonkey170 honestly i cant help you, i dont mind it but it definitely isnt a no shed experience. I use a wide tooth comb most of the time, especially because i have my hair in braided extensions for 3 months at a time to grow it out at the moment. Im still looking for a decent brush. I might try the one she currently like and see. I feel like finding brushes for 4c hair is impossible
I see a lot of people with different hair textures use the tangle teaser. It may not work for everyone, but it works wonders for a lot of folks/people. I love it ✨️
I hated the easy detangling brhsh aswell - glad i'm not the only one😭 Thanks for this vid i'm definitely gonna get myself a tangle teezer now for my 4c hair!!😌
I dont finger detangle as much. I product detangle which is leaving detangler and oil under a cap for at least 1/2 an hour before styling. Tangles melt away.
I think the tangle teaser is good at detangling, BUT it always slips out my hand, it's hard to clean, I have to make small sections, and the bristles bend so easily (I push them back into place so they're straight). I just finger detangle 95'% of the time, I think that's just easier for me & helped me retain more length. I'm not about to fight a brush to get through long 4c hair👊🏼. I do use the tangle teaser on my bf's hair tho, after I finger detangle a little 🤭
omg i had that problem too with it slipping out of my hands! i actually put a bunch of lines of hot glue on it and it really helped to grip it better so u might wanna try that if u give it another go! i decided to do this bc i kept trying different brushes with a better grip but none were as good for my hair as the tangle teaser
Excuse my ignorance. I’m new to being a natural (3 yrs old), type 4 hair; and I see a lot of RU-vidrs not combing the roots of their hair. Is this a personal preference, a way to thicken your roots, or a hair hack???
Use your fingers luv. Truth be told, type 4 hair does not really tangle unless your split ends or damaged ends are getting knotted because they’re thinner. Your fingers are enough to comb your roots. They’re v important to keep moisturized as the moisture will go down the whole hair shaft.
I am type 4 and disagree with the other commenter (which means find what works for you) I use the tangle teaser from tip to root and then root to tip. Again fine what works for you but I do not agree just finger detangling is all you need lol
They probably just don't film it. Because when you brush your hair you start at the bottom and then slowly get to the top. You brush your roots tho. There's no roots hack unless you just want tangles and matts in the top of your hair 😭
I never use a brush💜💜 (the tangle teezer damaged some of my hair years back) & I don't use them🤭💜just a very very very wide toothed afro comb.. gently! When wet & slathered in conditioner - the alternative is too terrifying to contemplate🙏🏻💜🇬🇧💜
The easy detangle brush is a POS..I don’t like it neither …bought 3 in a sale at Ross and took them all to goodwill within 3 days…that 1st brush though you tried. I’m going to try that one. ❤
I don’t aim to detangle anymore I aim to remove loose hairs while washing and rinsing out conditioner. Changed my whole wash day experience since kinky hair tangles if you so much as look at it wrong so it was a never ending battle before I changed my goals. The Kazmalage brush followed by the wide denman brush is perfect for me.
Same. Just gotta live with your hair being 90-95% detangled. It always bothers me when people say you should be able to smoothly run a comb/brush through any part of your hair because that's just not a thing for people with long kinky hair. It's very delicate. I have straightened kinky hair that's VERY thick, so when it's wash day, I use fingers only. Loose hair and big knots come out and that's it. I'll definitely give that brush you recommend a try
@@luci7038your fingers get your hair 90% detangled? You should share your routine kindly. Cz if i detangle with my fingers only....it still manages to matt in the sections like one or two days later and i never finish detangling cz it takes LIGHT YEARS to complete the 30% i mange to get done using oils butters conditioner etc.
My type 4 hair is very easy to manage and doesn't tangle unless I'm being lazy but detangling is a breeze so I have no complaints about my hair. Wash days are very easy for me but I'm still pretty lazy when it comes to my hair. Which is why I just wear it out all the time, for reference my hair is mid back, dense, and low porosity. Very similar to the lady in the video. Also, I can run a brush through my hair if its wet and or recently detangled. After a few hours a brush could not just slide down my hair lol
@@bohlalenchabeleng1370 well my hair is straightened, but regardless I'm happy with the level of 'detangled' it is. I've seen more length retention and growth when not fussing to get it 100% detangled. When you really think about it, it's not entirely necessary to have 0 tangles in your hair if length and health are the focus.
@_Hollie_ i girst got the shampoo and I love it, cleanses but also put the vital ingredients back in your hair. Im waiting for my conditioner, prepoo and Moisturizer
For the second to last green brush (easy detangle), I found for me that using the brush starting at the end of my hair and working my way up had better reaults. Also only using the brush vertically and not horizontally will keep it from ripping out your hair. Sometimes I use the brush floppy but mostly I use the little stays they provided to keep the brush in place. It seems to work better that way. Idk it all depends on my mood and how much I have to detangle. I love that we all find our own way to love our hair❤
Sameee, I tried the EZ comb thingy, didn’t like it too, it was painful and difficult to use and was tugging at my hair😢, I shed more hair than usual that day😫
Hha...finger detangling warrior..abi.....liiiis..teeeen... I am finger detangljng and i am STRUGLING. My hair be one big dread if i even see water on tv. 😂😂😂😂😂
I use both the unbrush and tangle tezzer. The unbrush I use for breaking down large knot’s especially in the back at my neck and i use the tangle tezzer to really detangle my hair.
So idk where this unbrush came from but before everyone started talking about it there was this curl keeper. That brush is better than the unbrush in my opinion and I didn’t even use the original. I used the dupe and still got good results. Try it. I loooove that brush and never want to go without it ever again.
I heard that the tangle teezer has caused split ends for some people. I noticed I was having a lot of split ends a month after I trimmed my hair so I switched to the Denman D38 brush and it’s even better than the tangle teezer. And u can blow dry ur hair with it!
I have cut my hair out of frustration from detangling my hair. I was so frustrated that I put down my comb, grabbed my scissors and cut it all of. Bear in mind my hair was not as long as hers. I don't think that I can survive with natural hair as long as hers.😢❤
The green brush is a scam. Hahha. My hair hated it. The tangle teezer is the business BUT the UNBRUSH BUSH is EVERYTHING!!! it got my hair how the tangle teezer got yours. I love it
That green brush is a nightmare. Lolz. Doesn’t work for me. I have an old denman brush that I took out some of the teeth from. It’s falling apart. Now I’ll get the tangle teaser lolz.
I'm not a fan of the easy detangling brush either & it seems like I have a ton of them. A lot of natural hair companies were giving them in their packages & it's a DEF NO for me!!!
I recently got a child's brush for my hair, which was also for least pain, and works kinda the best? And it has almost no plastic, and metal ... teeth? I'm kinda confused how this is even better than my detangle brush.
The way you showed in this video your use of the easy detangling brush did not look correct. It has to be used to brush hair through the long side, not the short end. Your demonstration of the tangle teezer compliments my decision to get one! Great video!
