Apologies for the delay in videos, I recently moved! It took quite a while to get the garage moved over and set up at my new place. Moving a lathe, multiple welders, a plasma table, etc, is quite a bit of work. However everything should be back on schedule now. Thanks for sticking around in the interim! 😁
As a dedicated viewer, love to see you back man. Weathers gotten cooler so I’ve gotten too lazy to go out in the heat. Recently I started an open source gauge system. My truck is currently using a diy egt gauge and I’m pretty happy!
Thank you! That's very cool. I was planning on running all my gauges off arduino, but started running out of room on my Nextion HMI and got lazy and just bought off the shelf pod gauges for EGT and coolant. My code and wiring is here: www.buildautomedia.com/arduinodash Can I ask what your gauges are built with? Have a link to the project?
It's always something. No matter how much you try to anticipate there's always a gremlin watching, rubbing his hands together just waiting to mess something up. You always come up with a good solution it seems so well done again. You might like the Cerakote piston coating ceramic heat barrier for things like your adapter and exhaust manifold. It doesn't require oven curing and goes on with an airbrush. I have cylinder heads with over 100,000 miles and it's still on the valves and chamber.
Good to see you again. Always love to see your progress. Your videos are packed with information and I love seeing your methods and processes. Can you make a video, or video series on design software, how to use it, and ultimately, using your design to turn out parts with the cnc plasma table? I am thinking of getting one for my fab shop, but I know nothing about the technical stuff and it can be intimidating. I have never done cad or cnc. Keep up the videos! You're an inspiration!
Thank you for always coming back, and thank you for the kind words! I've considered these types of videos before but I'd only want to make videos on it if I feel I have something new to contribute. For example, there are already amazing videos available on how to use CAD and I don't think I could do any better than what's already out there. However there are some pieces of software that are more obscure that people don't seem to know about and I'd definitely be willing to make videos for those. I have a video in the works on using photogrammetry, which is using photos to make 3D models (rather than buying a 3D scanner). Things like this where there isn't a lot of existing content is where I'd want to focus.
With the Cummins swap on my 1994 F150, there was just enough space behind the turbo to sneak in a 4" downpipe next to the condenser box. Stock first gen with stock manifold with a non-wastegate H1C, if I went to a HX35 I'm sure I would run into clearance issues much like you did.
