A quick note for those that want to follow this guide list in 2023. When Desperados was originally released, the 0.2 version had it's own precombine mesh set (it still works, but performs worse than the newer release). The current 0.3 version that I help maintain requires PRP as a dependency. Failing to install that will cause visual mayhem in places as the engine tries to find missing meshes. When Brandy eventually sees this comment, they should probably pin it.
My game is mostly like this already. I’ve been going for the classic fallout 1/2 vibe and new Vegas desert look. Seeing your video tho inspired me to use true storms now. I know that mod adds dust storms , but NAC x is my go to and I knew they would be incompatible. but you haven’t experienced problems yet and true storms uses vanilla weathers so I’ll definitely check it out now.
I have 3 out of 4 of those creature mods. Deathclaws I really feel are dependant on region. Fallout New Vegas and 3 are a lot more open, and I feel like the deathclaw designs reflect that from game to game, a creature adapted for wide open spaces and hot weather versus a creature adapted for more verticle spaces, wet possibly chilly weather, and tighter quarters. Think about it, you can see vegas really far off. Same with some of the more rural parts of Fallout 3, though not as much. Also, the Nightstrikers mod has its own pet, a Nightstriker named Borous. You can craft armor and clothes for him at a cooking station.
I have tried yesterday in combination of Badlands 2 and Desperados Overhaul, Badlands 2 is no problem, but if you want to play also with the mods like: Deprivaty, Fusion City Rising all that stuff that enhances the story, then I had massive glitches when walking around, outside of Vault 111. Rocks, Trees, Walls disappeared in some angles of direction very strange. But I´m happy with Badlands 2 and of course the wonderful Nac X it´s awesome this mod! And of course, also because I also have played Fallout New Vegas. 2015 my first Fallout was Fallout 4 and I was pretty happy, then I wanted to know how was Fallout New Vegas, and since then, I prefer also today New Vegas, but Fallout 4 is also not the baddest :-) Keep it up the good work, you´re a good informer and youtuber!
i installed this and instantly got lots of problems. Giant red x on the floor somewhere. Everything flickering. How do people manage to download mods without problems while some get constant erorrs?
@I'm Your Dislike Button. (This mod no longer breaks precombines, however due to the newly generated ones in place of vanilla, this will naturally be incompatible with other mods that do break precombines, and obviously other flora based mods. While issues should be minimal, remain aware of possible conflicts and bugs. Overall both performance and bugs should be at acceptable standards at this point in time.)
hi there, intresting collection of themed mods, even tho desert boston is not my thing maybe a video idea could be a collection/comparison of mods that enhance the landscape and make it more unique. for example most people prob know about south of the sea and the multy pine tree forest mods
New subscriber--Thank you for this, going to back up my instally and give these mods a try for my Couriet play-through. What pip-pad mod is that you're using?
Thanks for putting your load order at the end. Nobody ever does that. Also it may still be around but there was a mod that allowed you to create and modify some kind of ATV or vehicle and drive it around. Could add that one for a Mad Max feel to your desert
@@Preppystxrss how did you install badlands and desperados??? I cant figure it out for the life of me. For my save i can still see trees and grass from the base game in the distance but when i move closer it changes to sand and the trees dissapear like in the overhaul
@@raushantariq2019it wouldn’t work but I know project Mojave does it brings the new Vegas strip back but it won’t work anymore because the next gen update so I turned mine into fallout “76”
The soul survivor with dogmeat official graphic art by Bethesda the wasteland was also desert why do i think that originally they planned boston to be a desert as well but they change it and it fucks up everything
im always torn by either desert fallout or snow fallout, any tips on how to easily switch between them other than memorizing 4-5 mods for each and turn them on/off?
really now? Im using NAC X legacy and I haven't noticed any dust storms. I suppose the fog and polluted weather look similar, but nothing comes close to those heavy dust storms from true storms!
Fallout 4 Enhanced Color Correction Mod is a decent lightweight alternative to ENB. I still have ENB installed for a few things like water reflections etc, but disable the heavy hitting features and dont use any preset, NacX has a lot of lighting features built in too. BUT, I never really liked it as no matter what I did, it made my grass look grainy, like a static noise filter was over the top of it. I stick with True Storms.
Been playin in the desert waste for awhile now, still can't say I love the Pine Forest in the south, would have worked better in the north to NE of the map.
Also keep on the lookout for the youtuber Alexander v.b. He may release a mod that adds the peacekeeper from Battlefield 1 and the animations are really fucking good.
Nacx was cool but made the dark to dark, like pitch black and also taking so much rads from the new weather's, even with buffed perks I was dying from just fast traveling.
hey i downloaded both desperados and badlands with true grass like you have in your game but all of my ground textures are the same as the vanilla ones. no sand dunes or anything. any ideas?
if it can help someone, the LOD not working on my side I used "LOD for Desperados Overhaul or DO and Badlands 2 Combo - Dusty Dude Abides Series Mods" on nexus mods this solved my problems for the long distance generations
IDK if this will get attention but when I did the mods together and the LOD, my game has been messed up, things keep disappearing and reappearing and flickering
So I installed decent plus and it looks great. The only problem is that when I go into my pip boy it causes annoying blue boxes to appear around certain text. Anyone know how to fix?
Dude I have a question... Does load order impact LOD/is there a way to get a LOD with no pop in via load order without resorting to generating one? I'm not great with the technical side of modding myself. Only just started it :/ This is awesome btw
really the only way to get almost no noticeable pop-in is to increase a setting in your fallout4.ini called ugridstoload. The number in that settings dictates how far out the game will fully load an area. On downside is though, is that it SEVERELY affects performance so I don't recommend touching it at all unless you have a NASA pc or are comfortable with playing at 30 fps xD
problem with anything that removes trees is that they all break precombines. desperados is nice but it drags my framerate into the toilet with it and eventually my save gets corrupted.
What nac x settings do you have on your setup? I have done everything in this video and my commonwealth doesn’t look the same still the sand is very brown even in the sunniest of weather.. still getting 60 frames though which is manageable
When I got the Desperados Overhaul and BADLANDS V2, it just crashes very often, and has made the game unplayable. I really want the desert environment without the damn game crashing. I have all dependencies installed, but I used the Nexus mod manager for all of them, can someone please help?
After I downloaded these mods, the game started to crash in the wasteland when I am in the prydven or in another place there is no crash, but when I go out into the wasteland the game immediately crashes, what should I do? help me pls because i want play with this mods
For some reason my desperados game doesn't have the same color rocks in the distance as up close, instead of the brown color like in desperados the rocks in the distance are the vanilla grey color, whats the fix?
Did you use MO2 or Vortex for modding? Im asking this because my Desperados Overhaul mod still not working perfectly. The problem I have is there's still a vanilla trees on my DO mod
