I love that when they are interrogating the girl on truth serum, she speaks fairly normally and the two doctors talk like they are in a trance.

I'd love to see a remake of this movie that starts with Mark's idea. A social gathering, and someone brings up bad break-ups. Joyce steps forward, takes a big swig of vodka, and tells her story of her alligator husband.

I can’t tell you how much I relate to the piano recital story. My step-mom was a piano teacher and had her studio in the house. I was forced to take lessons, but I sucked. Our recital was a Halloween one. I played Camila the camel and was dressed up like an ancient Egyptian. I was clunky and missed a bunch of notes. Getting up and bowing after that, in that costume...It only compounded the humiliation.

I love when Mark enters the movie and starts talking to the actors.

Still, the movie looks so good. The cinematography, the lighting, the sets. I’m a sucker for oldies.

This movie freaked me out as a kid during Monsterfest on AMC. It's so silly watching it now but little me was like "this could really happen!!!!"

The Alligator People makes a great double-feat. with The Wasp Woman!

I have a similar piano story. In college I had a recital as the final for a piano course. I had pulled an all-nighter before the recital that morning. I got two measures into the song and went completely blank. I looked at the class smiled and then played the last measure of the song because it was all I could remember. Needless to say that was my last recital lol

There was a guy in my neighborhood who owned an amphicar. He used to drive across the river to go to work every day. I would sometimes see him driving back in the evening. Even though it was "normal" to see this dude driving his car ACROSS THE RIVER on any given day, it was still crazy enough to get my attention.

Was going to say this was a blatant rip-off of Spider-Man’s the Lizard. Then I saw the release date. It would seem the character of Curt Connors was at least a little inspired by this movie.

Honestly if a guy rolled up in his boat-car and used that line, I'd probably go swamping with them.

Hey Mark, this was a gooder! Considering how old this movie is, they did a pretty good job on the Alligator-Man/ Paul. Except for seeing his face through the teeth. LOL

I love the science behind some of these old creature movies. If it doesn't make sense it's probably radioactive stuff, gene splicing or aliens. Great video as always, Dr. Mark! ;)

Filling you in on some details there: The star is Beverly Garland, scream-queen of the 1950s. Lon Chaney Jr, the original 1941 Wolf Man, is drunk throughout. George Macready as the mad scientist was actually one of the best screen villains (Gilda!) of the 40s and 50s. Though it's low-budget, it's better made and better produced than most 1950s scifi stinkers. It would actually have been frightening if the alligator outfit wrent so ludicrous. But Kudos to Mark for picking up this jewel. Now, if you would only indulge in its history a bit; it's not much work.

11:20 In Dublin we have a bunch of those cars, they all operate for the Viking Splash tour. They basically drive through the city centre, show-case a few Viking sites and ruins, all while the tourists wear plastic stereotypical Viking helmets and yell, like Viking's, at people as they drive past them. The tour concludes with the amphibious vehicle driving into a body of water to make you feel like a real Viking.

I felt the piano lessons story. My parents were big into music. For me it was the Trombone. I was always last seat in band. I remember having to go in a room a play scales and a song on a tape recorder., I messed up (because I was gaming instead of practicing) and went to rewind to go again, three times later I realized I accidentally rewinded too far and recorded over someone else’s thing. Since it was about 1/3 of the way in, I rewinded two more people and left it so the next person would record over theirs and I got a pass for the semester.

I actually saw this movie in a Miami theater when i was 13 and visiting my cousin Mitch. I was already a connoisseur of terrible monster flicks, and what impressed me about this one was how obvious the zipper on the back of his costume was.

I am glad Mark found a way to wear his suit to bring us happiness....
