Turtle Beach Stream Mic VS Blue Snowball USB Mic | Product Comparison & Review 2017 

i almost pulled the trigger and bought the stream mic, glad i watched this video first

The turtle beach mic sounds like I have water in my ears, that blue snowball is definitely where it's at bro. Turtle beach charged it the price they did because they have the name to do so in my opinion, but overall it's not the worst mic I've heard man, great vid!

this has been actually very helpful. I'm debating whether or not to get a blue Yeti or the turtle beach. And I've noticed the turtle beach audio sounds a little weird almost electronic when undated. And ill be streaming from console with no editing and I feel like the turtle beach quality is not up to snuff.

Question. Does it work off windows recording options, or does the software have its own settings? For example, when I have a normal headset hooked up using the 3.5mm jack, I can set windows to 24bit 96,000 hz which is studio quality. Is the same setting used for the USB mics? or do they have their own setting? Because, and this is a "maybe" but its possible, that stock it comes set to something really crappy like 16 bit 16000 hz which is essentially tape recorder quality (pretty bad) and if the snowball has a better setting stock, its going to sound better out of the box. If you change that setting, it will change how it sounds....

Hmm, didn't think the TB would sound that bad. I picked up the snowball ice during a sale for about 30€ but the main thing I miss is a physical mute button.

I bought the blue snowball my freshman year for about $35 used, so no stand with it, and I just recently got the Turtle Beach stream mic for about the same new. I will say, for raw unchanged setting on both I prefer the snowball, but once I went through and changed the setting I kinda like the turtle beach slightly more. Plus, I like how the turtle beach is 100% universal for streaming straight off of consoles for a budget streamer like me. For PC on the other hand though, I personally prefer my Samson M10 for what its worth.

I wasn't expecting there to be music in the first direct comparison part, I wouldve liked to only hear the sound of the mics, and music added in when further explaining your commentary. Anyway as of right now the turtle Beach costs $40 so maybe it's worth it now

Buying one of these today so this helped me decide. The TB sounds horrible. I prefer the design of it but the snowball sounds a lot better. Cheers buddy

I had to uninstall the earforce hub software for it to work, but with the winusb drivers it's on par with my snowball ice

The Snowball is way better than the TB mic . I clicked on this video to brag about my purchase . I bought the Snowball 5 months ago(Actually the iCE version) . I've used it for gaming , singing , rapping , guitar recording etc. Very good mic for the price . If you want a cheap and good usb mic IMO you have three choices : Neewer NW-7000 Marantz Pod Pack 1 Blue Snowball iCE

My turtle beach mic was 35 and with turtle beach mic you have to tinker with the settings and you’ll sound like an angel

so right now my first stream mic is the turtle beach. but no matter what i do with settings even with the turtle beach hub.. everytime i talk i hear fuzz its fuzzy and static.. not bad but on the hub for test playback i hear it, sometimes i don't hear it on my recordings after rendering, sometimes i do and i don't touch anything for settings, so half the time it sounds bad, then your rendered recording sounds fine, and i need to know right up front how it will sound not just in a audio test! i am and have been planning on buying the snowball and i think the snow ball sound really good, aside. as you did the comparison with the turtle beach 2:27 is how mine sounds regardless what settings i put it on... mine doesn't even come close to sounding as good as yours thru the turtle beach.(i spent hours to figure it all out and still not even close to how you sounded (tho i have a noisy studio fans and things,how does the snowball handle background canceling???) im new to all the whositwhatsits lol as far as stream mics go. so idk if i got settings weird, i mean its a headache.. like this TL:DR comment LOL either way idk what you did to make the turtle beach sound so much better than mine on your comparison . but im sold on the snowball! happy early birthday xmas to me eh? lol thanks for this !! ps turtle beach works great with pc, xbox and ps4 for me i know you mentioned its good with xbox but i stream/record on all 3

I should have checked before buying the TB mic, the blue snowball was side by side to the TB, but I chose TB over the snowball. I regret it.

Yeah... I should've done my research before buying a mic. I had this choice went with the turtle Beach thinking id be paying for quality not convenience and features... Needless to say I'm now selling it almost brand new quality for $50 if anyone wants it xD

Agreed, the Blue Ball sounds better. However, for me the Turtle beach is the one I go with, for two reasons: 1) It is directly compatible with the Xbox One (the only way I stream), and 2) it offers the bidirectional recording. Typically, my son and I have ongoing commentary as I stream, so the bidirectional feature would allow me to place the mic between us and easily pick up both voices. If you are a professional streamer, then consider other things. But for casual streamers such as myself (and with the cheaper prices available for the Turtle Beach now), it is a clear choice for me. Just my two cents' worth.

I always feel these comparisons are a little unfair. I have both had both mics for a few years now and the TB sounds much better once I set it up correctly using the TB software. The snowball is all muddy mid range , no high or low frequency. A lot of the sounds depends on your voice. But most important the TB used with Xbox beats the crap out of every headset mic and it allows the use of any headphones with a 3.5mm jack

The turtle beach mic is like 59.99 nowadays. The biggest issue I’ve had with usb condensers is the usb jack on the mic breaks.

I'm sorry but this video is crap cause if you set up the streamer mic correctly after updating it with ur Pc and the right settings it sounds fine.
