This is incredibly timely for me. I ordered the new 13" MBP with the M1 chip yesterday and need to run Parallels on it, so this video will be getting watched intensively...
Depends what for really - Parallels I find the better experience, but then it's hard to get VMs up to ESX. If it's consumer type stuff and you'll not go near ESX then I'd stick with Parallels. Saying that though - cost is a thing isn't it? The Free option of Fusion could cover a few of its sins in terms of poor performance in UNITY...?
@@MacRS4 thank you for the detailed answer mate. Since leaving my last position and working for myself it is mostly consumer related tasks these days so I think I will give parallels a shot. Haven't used it since parallels 9!
How do you connect blue-tooth devices that only work with windows? I am trying to work with my robots that only work on widows programs. I have them up and running on parallels 16 but for them to work I need then to use blue-tooth. the app don't run in Mac OS but only run in windows. can you help??
Wow, super helpful. There's literally nothing about using windows on Parallels other installation. There's so many things I can't figure out, since I don't know windows at all. Just switching back and forth is painful unless the windows are smaller.
In the installation when the screen of 'i will primarily use windows for' appears I have only two options: Productivity and Games only. I need it for design but do not have this option. please help me

I'm planning on buying an SFF for a home lab and the performance reviews seem to be massively in favour of Ryzen specially value. I have a 2019 MBP and with the free fusion and vmware player on PCs I could move VMs back and forth between the machines, right?

yes you can. It's effectively one 'package' file containing all of the info for the virtual machine. You can just copy that package to an SSD and run it from there. If you mean run an installed copy of windows that's already been installed on an SSD, then no, I don't think you can.
There's Intel's Power Gadget however I assume you mean the countdown thing? That's Countdown Timer Plus from the App Store. Great little app - I can set lots of countdowns for different things, and just have it on my desktop. See here: apps.apple.com/gb/app/countdown-timer-plus/id1150771803?mt=12
