Very nice tutorial, however, you omitted one fact: Do NOT put pressure on your razor, that will result in nicks and cuts every time! Let the weight of the razor and the blade do the work for you! Other than that, nice little starter kit!

That's a fair point, thanks for mentioning that. You're absolutely right, it's best to apply little pressure to the razor when you shave!

I also started with a Muhle R89, but now, after almost two years of wet shaving, I think it is too mild, even for starters. I would recommend the Yaqi Mellon razor. Cheap and effective.
