From December 3 2022 Amazon CloudCam will discontinue its service since Amazon bought Blink. So if you are an Amazon CloudCam user you must upgrade to Blink security system.
Yes you can do that under the same account but it has to be under different zones. For example you can have 8 Cameras and a sync module for your office and another same setup for your home.
I am having range issues due to concrete block construction. I have a wifi extender named correctly "wifi_EXT", and the mini cameras can be changed to the extender but I cannot figure out how to get the outdoor and doorbell cams to do the same. The general settings page on the outdoor and doorbell cams simply have no "change wifi" function listed. When I delete one of those cams to reinstall it does not ask for the wifi name as the mini does. I'm stumped and tired of standing under a camera that shows busy when my phone shows full wifi from the extender. Haha.
What if you already have established cameras? Our SYNC module was underwater from Hurricane Ian. I have a new SYNC and will need to connect to the cameras.
When you open the app simply click on the plus sign on the upper right corner to add additional cameras. You don't have to have a subscription plan with Blink to add additional cameras. You can have all your cameras record footage to the USB Flash drive which is connected to the Sync Module.
I am looking at buying a blink camera system. Is it possible to just buy Blink add-on cameras and then a sync module all separately/individually, as it is cheaper is why i ask? Or do I have to buy a camera and sync module together or as a bundle the first time?
Yes it works with Blink Mini, but you can't make it continuously record. For that you need to buy security cameras that have a base station with a Hard Drive inside of it. Like this one www.ebay.com/itm/144461027999
I had these cameras set up and working and I do not know why but they are not working now so I can't answer questions about why it happened. I am hoping I can get my cameras working again by your video. Is that possible? I am afraid I will not be able to do it. I feel seniors with out training are wasting thousands of dollars on equipment that they hope to install. I have thousands of dollars in useless electronics because I have so much trouble setting stuff up.
Hi, I don't blame you as some devices are very complicated to setup even for younger adults. So with this camera if they don't work most likely they lost network connection which may be fixed by unplugging the power cord for a few seconds and plugging them back in. If that doesn't work try restarting your router.
So I've recently switched to Verizon internet in my home and i can not connect my sync module to my wifi is it because it won't hook to the faster speed of it? It keeps saying the password is wrong, it isn't I've connected 4 other devices to it and it works everytime thanks in advanced
I have 2 devices to sync, the pan tilt camera and a doorbell cam but I could only sync one device, how come I can’t get my doorbell to sync with it, too?
Hi, I just added a 2nd device to my blink app and the first device has live view but the second device won't let me view live is this because I don't have a sync module?
Hi, no the sync module is for local recording not for live viewing. You should make sure the 2nd Camera is connected to WiFi. Also click the camera icon for that camera on the App to take a still photo just to see if it is even responsive.
@Technology Tips Hi thanks for this. It is recording motions only and I can't live view at all, and there is no Camera option to press. Instead, it says "Event response" on the screen. It's connected to my Wi-Fi and WiFi is at full capacity. I set mine up without blink sync module 2 and my friend set hers up with the sync module 2, both of her cameras live stream fine. She seems to think I need to connect both my cameras to a sync module 2 to live stream on both cameras, but you advise I should be able to live stream both cameras without a sync module 2. Hmmmmm I'll disconnect and reconnect tomorrow. Thanks again for replying 🙂
@@cammyt9030 I just realized that I do have the Blink Annual plan so maybe that is why it is allowing me to watch both cameras Live even if my Sync module is disconnected.
Local Storage saves clips onto a Sync Module 2 with a USB drive* inserted. Find your Local Storage clips in the Blink app when you tap the media button at the bottom of the screen. The list of cameras that are available to Local Storage appears in the System Settings screen when Local Storage is active. Reach System Settings when you tap the settings icon and select the system, or tap the "Sync Module" banner on the Blink app home screen of the system you want to know about. If you do not find your camera on the list of Local Storage devices, there are usually two reasons. The camera is not eligible. The camera is already attached to a Blink Subscription Plan or trial. Eligible Local Storage cameras are Blink Video Doorbell, Outdoor, Indoor (gen 2), and Mini. Other cameras do not save clips to Local Storage. The XT2, XT, and Indoor (gen 1) cameras save clips to their own cloud storage instead. Local Storage stops saving clips to USB when a Blink Subscription Plan becomes active, and all clips begin storing in the cloud. When you set up a new camera, you receive a 30 day trial of the Blink Plus Subscription, which automatically includes all eligible cameras on your account. When you have an active Blink Subscription Plan and a Sync Module 2 with a recognized USB drive*, the clips in your cloud storage are backed up onto the USB drive once daily. You must safely eject the USB drive to access clip backups.
I have blink mini. The camera does not recognize my router password. Have not changed the password. Blink people think I have to contact internet provider. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
@@donleon7676 Maybe the Router security protocol is beyond the functioning range of the camera. Try using WPA or WPA2, not anything more secure than that.
I am stuck at the Naming the System. I enter a name but can't get an OK, Done or Next function. My module is powered, blue light blinks, solid green. Can you tell me where I'm off?
This happened to another subscriber of my channel, and what they did is Power OFF the Smartphone, turn it back ON and try it again before opening any other apps on the smartphone.
Solved. The keyboard was not dropping out when I added the system name. A call to Samsung took care of that issue. My Continue was sitting behind the keyboard. A wasted 6 hours.
@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 What angered me most was when I went to return the unit someone from Blink contacted me asking for approval to look through my cameras recordings. As if somehow what I'm filming is what's causing the delay. This is the same stupidity as "clear your internet cookies to fix Microsoft Word". I think it's inexcusable to hear only an emailed consent is what's preventing strangers (technicians) from accessing all of the cameras logs.
@@b0mazor I agree 100%, they just want to make excuses and create roadblocks to delay or prevent a return or warranty exchange service. They know very well that the contents of the recording have nothing to do with the lag, but they say that any way to discourage people from claiming warranty service.
Yes you can, but that will bring a massive load on your WiFi network and your Internet bandwidth. So for 10 or more cameras I recommend getting the wired security system with local storage on the base station hard drive.
I am personally not too impressed with these cameras either. Mine looses network connectivity every week, and they are very close to the router. Not to mention it fails to record majority of the motion footage.
