By a good university I mean, a university which has a good placement record and good extracurricular clubs. Extra curricular clubs help u find ur interests when/if u realise engineering is not for you. My university lacked both unfortunately.

It's not just abt subscribers...its mostly about content. Urban Chatterati and similar shows are put under Rathees content category...hence the recommendation. But yes...the manipulation of algorithm to force feed can never be discounted.

The reason can be similarity of why Dhruv Rathee is recommended and not Cari Minati. The algorithm uses some version Collaborative Filtering where it recommends items based on what you have seen and what users who usually watch videos similar to you. Now chances are that there are lot of users who watch similar videos watch Dhruv Rathee but chances of them watching Cari Minati is low. It also normalizes for overall popularity of the video
